I really enjoyed 2:04-2:30 when he talks about his future plans with her. You can see that she would be happier (or at least she thinks she would be) and how everything is just brighter when all the scenes before like in the dmv were poorly lit, the scenes about the future are bright. I also love how you changed the images on the wall of her room from her past that she dwells in too much for her own good to the future that she could live when Ben walks past. I don't know the musical well but it says that (SPOILER) Sam denies his offer, is this true?
From what I've seen in the clips I could find of it she just doesn't say anything. It's so awkward and painful (on purpose. It's a good scene). Adam just kind of stands there singing the last part and Sam just doesn't seem like she knows what to say. I think I remember he leaves after that wishing her good luck with her driver's licence but I'm not entirely sure. I could be wrong.

It could be inferred that Sam does deny his offer by the end of the musical and also breaks up with him. In an earlier scene, Kelley tells Sam to leave if a guy ever says he could save her. The actual quote is “Kelly said, ‘Someday a guy will say let me save you. Let me take care of you’ and that’s when you’ve gotta -“ Adam isn’t in any other song after the song “Drive.”

I gotta say Sam and Adam's relationship was really nice to watch play out in the musical. Adam is always supporting Sam and he is always willing to listen to her problems and concerns. He never put pressure on her and always wanted her just to be happy. This song I think really shows how amazing Adam is when it comes to him and his girl.

god this is so good I've been so into this song since your initial Go Tonight animatic came out and I listened to the rest of the cast recording and like...god this is so BEAUTIFUL I love everything about it and like, the touch of the pictures changing and the times when it's Kelly singing instead of Adam and listen the fucking car slide on "Romeo is calling for Juliet" is just the best thing. thank you so much for making this it has made my day

You know, your Go Tonight animatic introduced me to The Mad Ones. After that, I listened to some of the other songs, including Run Away With Me. I honestly didn't enjoy them that much. Yet somehow, watching your animations endears me to the characters, the voices, makes it easier to imagine the emotions ajd thoughts. Lovely.

i can't explain the significance, but there's definitely something about the fact that when they actually start driving, there isn't a key like there is in "go tonight" but instead a button, even though he says "throw me the key" in this song.
