Speaking as a Greek, he may live in Greece but he's largely still ignorant of it. Most people in Greece are ethnic Greeks. Even in Athens it still represents the majority. Most of people that demand citizenship entered the country illegally. I have to wonder if millions of illegal migrants disrespectfully violated their own homeland's borders would they be as quick to accept them as citizens?

If you are white-skinned, consider yourself Blessed in Greece.
I don't know about other cities but Athens has a huge problem with Racism, Discrimination & characterization if you are dark-skinned. For eg, people from Pakistan & Bangladesh aren't even considered humans, they are categorized as the lowest of the class. Avoid coming here if you don't want to feel what the Black's felt in the 1950s in the US.

As greek although welcome to all i would advise most people to not migrate into the country to live. Unless you work online with a good salary its not worth it , here salaries are low and work hours are the highest in europe (60 hours a week on average) and most people do 2 jobs to get by. The goverment only helps immigrants that come from war torn countries in order to get brownie points in social media rather than actually help and the beruacracy is at its worst even the average greek usually resorts into bribing their way into stuff cause the system is just that bad. As for racism it really depends on area but all and all you wont find anything like that here , people may look at you for a second or two but then they will keep on going with their day. The passport situation that was mentioned is because the Greek passport is one of the strongest in the world and in the past people got citizenship to acquire the passport for other uses and then dipped so the goverment is more selective on who they give it to now

Africans have been coming to Greece since ancient times. It's geography. We know this from both Homer and Sappho, when they wrote about Andromeda, and Aethopian (Ethiopia) princess, who by marriage to Persius, became a queen of Greece. The problem is colonialism and white supremacy, which are modern inventions, relatively speaking. Andromeda was whitewashed, and made blonde and blue eyed, and black history in Greece from the Ottoman period forward has been erased.

Interesting video, nice 🙂 I disagree on some point of views that Greeks are not willing to work. Actually especially the younger generations, are forced to have two or three jobs, because the salaries are so low. And taxes are also so high after the economy crises. A lot of younger Greeks are leaving Greece because there are no opportunities. And they want to grow and work on them topic which they studied. That is actually understandable, you can't work your whole life as a barista, or as a simple worker with low salary after so many years of studying. That is unfair. Maybe there is a misunderstanding that Greeks are not willing to work, but it has to do with, that they want to get accepted in a job that they learned and to grow in it. Also yes we like to party, which is not bad, we also are actually positive people, but the governments are making it difficult, also the Greeks are suffering from them, because of corruption which in Greece is very high too. And yes to have fun in life is in our culture. It was always. There is this misconception, especially from foreigners, that Greeks are drinking only coffee. Yes, but after work and on weekends. Is that bad? Life is short and even with the poverty Greece has and corruption, we try our best to survive and have fun. Greece is a beautiful country, but unfortunately our governments and the whole parliament not! Yes I agree on some points that Greeks are racists, but this got higher because of the economy crises, since than we have also a lot of poverty towards Greeks. And we all know what an economy crises creates..... I also felt racism from my teachers, because I am a Greek from Germany, I grew up there and was born. You will be always a foreigner. The whole world is racist, there a good people and bad people, I agree with my Nigerian friend on that, be always positive and see only the good things. 😀 I also understand that a lot of Africans want to come to Europe, because of the suffering in them own countries. But Greece and other parts of the EU, are so different. We are the poor Europeans and the North part are the rich one. Of course I can't compare what some Africans suffered in them own country, and they see it differently how Greece is, maybe on some points we are a bit more spoiled. I wish every human being a good life and good opportunities.

Greeks are not really a racist society, they never had slaves or colonies in Africa... They get along ok with blacks, not so much with brown Arabs.... Having said that a low average salary reality creates tensions in central city blocks.
Our own government is racist against us Greeks and they throwing us out, because we have no jobs and no opportunities. :-( Also yes every country with economy crisis are getting easier racist, to much anger and frustrations creating them. Unfortunately I see racism now more all over the world..... A lot of tensions. It is politically motivated I guess.
