This is genuinely the best reaction of cowboy Carter I watched (and I watched so many lol) and to get to see the reaction of the guy in the back going from a non Beyonce fan to liking her craft is amazing !!!!
Beyonce said its not a Country album its a Beyonce album. Its an Album inspired by Country and cousin genres of country, rock, blues and gospel. While Beyoncifying it!
I’m just starting the reaction so y’all may cover this in the video but I was talking to a friend about the album recently and, to this point, I think the makes an argument for how country would sound before this current contemporary pop sound was the rule of the day. She references the origins of country style all throughout the record and I think the album is how country would sound today if Black artists hadn’t been shunted out. It’s *more* country than the current country genre. We don’t have to abide by the rules that a white country industry have told us are the sound.

Texas Hold Em - meets a man and tells him to lay his guard down and be vulnerable 8. Bodyguard - she reveals her possessiveness over him 9. Dolly P - Dolly Parton actually requested Beyoncé cover this 2 years prior to the album coming out 10. Jolene - Beyoncé reveals her indignation over a woman trying to mess with her happy marriage and family 11. Daughter - she fantasizes over the murder of Jolene and then begins mourning in a haunting Italian Opera 12. Spaghetti - a social criticism towards American nationalists who used to call Spaghetti westerns made in Italy, unAmerican despite them hiring American actors, so she surprises everyone with a country accent rap song as a way to say, this is still country…. 13. Alligator Tears - calls out peoples fake criticism and victimization. 14. Smoke Hour 2 Introduces the Modern Pop Country part of the album 15. Just For Fun 16. 2 Most Wanted 17. LEVII JEANS 18. Flamenco 19. The Linda Martell Show - forewarns us that Beyoncé is warmed up and about to start doing what she does best, which is genre bending to perfection to create unique art. Let’s us know the rest of the album is for fun. 20. Yaya - displays historic successful fusion of genres that created rock 21. Fun Fact: They are looking for Dolly in Tryrant. Listen closely to that scratchy sound- it's Dolly brushing together her fingernails! I died when someone revealed that to me! NOW onto the business: 27 listed catagories that make up the country music genre. Which one does several music research sources list Country Carter under? Americana. Americana is a hodgepodge of several genres: blues, gospel, rock, folk, r&b, soul, pop, with heavy leanings towards several types of country music. Years ago they kicked Beyonce out of country. She got back up and came right back in there. This time dragging everything musically and the kitchen sink behind her. We all know THIS is what Beyonce does best. She experiments. She is an alchemist. This time she is a HISTORIAN because ALL of these listed genres have had a share in the development of country music as it is today. Girl does her due diligence and homework. A true student of music. She warned you ahead of time what to expect from her and what NOT to expect. This will not resonate with everyone. It ain't supposed too. Some will reject it outright. For others, with patience- it will grow on them. And they will enjoy it. For still others- right away it will be a prized possession. This is an ALBUM first and foremost. Songs stitched together with transitions so clever and seemless the listener swears they are listening to one long song when in reality they are listening to 2 or 3 seperate songs. Its clever, sneaky and entertaining. The cultural significance of this album cannot be denied. After listening to it from beginning to end, I declared this album a masterpeice. But if you arent here for it that's ok. As the featured radio DJ Willie Nelson tells you: "If (you) ain't turned on to this good s***", that' ok. "Go find yourself a juke box. Your welcome".
Alligator Tears seems dissonant on purpose to me. I think homeboy in the front seat peeped the way they notes “felt off”. He’s right, but it was supposed to feel that way.
This album is meant to serve as a musical education of the African Americans historic place w/in Country music, which would sound like Irish Folk (great in It's own right, mind you) if it weren't for the Blues & Gospel of the enslaved Africans. This includes the BANJO, which was created by enslaved Africans in the Caribbean then, later brought to The States. Yes, the banjo wasn't created by the Appalachians but by Africans. I could also go into the Black artists that many of the earlier big name white country artists learned from then portrayed as their style.... as it was with Elvis and Black artists like Roy Hamilton, Big Mama Thornton, Chuck Berry and Sister Rosetta Tharpe - The Godmother of Rock & Roll), but it would take awhile. ;) Beyonce adds a bit of those artists work into this album as well. Her last few projects have been a meld of grand musical production, a mosaic of Black History and how the two interconnect. It appears that Beyonce is in a period of the Reclamation and Rejoicing of African American Culture, trying to correct the record due to the erasure and gate keeping whilst also trying to push The Culture forward in Unity, Knowledge and Beautiful Experiences and Conversations. 😎 It's what she's become known for. The Superficial and surface level won't fully appreciate this album over the more curious and expansive minded.
This was perfect. I think you guys could get even more traction by disclosing that you all either create or study music. People will appreciate your credentials
An absolutely beautiful and thought provoking reaction. Love your reactions but even more, the analysis y’all had at the end about how sonically this album showed the evolution of music from classic country and blues to the current reflection of modern day R&B. Amazing video
I luv when u said, COUNTRY INFLUENCED. I've said that since it came out. Beyonce does what she wants and she knows people will talk about it. Also, I luv how she has country trap in a few joints. It's still country and not just a guitar in every song. Country comes in many forms. Bey said Imma show yall all styles of country! BTW. I LUUUV YALL AND UR FEEDBACK! YALL ARE SO DOPE
Y'all kept bringing up the evolution of what we created. My theory is that the collection of the 3 acts is going to be a timeline of Black music. CC was (supposed to be) first - country, blues, rock and roll, R&B leading into Renaissance - disco, dance/house. I believe act III is going to go through the stages of hip hop (&modern r&b). Even when you look at the bonus tracks [My House, Pony Up (Texas Hold 'Em rmx) & Cuff It Remix] each one is a nod to older hip hop subgenres. My House has the Master P feel, Pony Up is a N.O bounce song and Cuff It uses the beat from a Twista song... everyone thinks it's going to be Rock but I think she already covered so much Rock is CC that continuing on the evolution of Black American music into Hip Hop is what makes sense to me...
Thank you so much for watching! We definitely tried to be different from other reactions, so I appreciate you for noticing! I hope to see you in the comments on future videos!
Omggg I love this reaction 😭 & YOU BETTA SINGGGGG American Requiem for the musician in me 😭 16 Carriages!! I cannot get over this song Bodyguard eats! Spaghetti because whatttt?! She is crazy for that one Alligator Tears is it! Riverdance, II Hands II Heaven, Tyrant, Sweet Honey Buckin!!! Yes! All of them. I love how unique they are. All of the songs are lovely but these are one that I'd play every single day. Interlude appreciation: Dessert Eagle is THAT girl! I love My Rose! She was SANGINNNN throughout this whole album. So many stank faces! 😭🤣 Honorable mention: Daughter! Who hasn't sung that song as a choir nerd or music major? It is Italian. Caro mio ben Play this album into Renaissance! I cant wait until act iii.
Y’all are the only reaction that connected alligator tears to Karen’s and how America took out religion away from us thank you. I’ve seen some ppl say it’s about her sons fake crying and how she’ll do any thing for him. And I’m like do y’all know when trump was voted in the told us to leave, hell no. Or when we were enslaved how they thought about leaving but was so brain washed and scared they said hell no. And that black men literally built railroads and damns for America. First time I heard the song I thought of all these things and said Beyonce a genius.
It's country. Although she genre blended, the basic instrumentation on almost all of these songs is country. Everything else is just blending. You guys said it's "(insert genre) mixed with country/country influence/"country themed lyrics" when in reality, it's the reverse. They're country with influences from other genres. The second half of the album is also country, it's the incorporation of other genres. The only songs I can say ain't really country is Sweet Honey Buckiin, Tyrant, & Ya Ya... maybe desert eagle too... but everything else is definitely country. Its just not like traditional country. She brought light to the side of country we don't see... the black side. Everyone featured on this album has a similar sound to at least one record on this album. When it comes to the trap country feel, definitely Tanner Adell, Willie Jones, & Shaboozey.
Blackbiird is a Beatles cover and Paul McCartney wrote is about black women during the civil rights movement. It’s Alligator Tears because alligators are native to America and crocodiles are native Australia. So she intentionally used alligator’s.
Alligators are native to North America and the meaning is being In a relationship with someone that pouts and cries but you're still gonna be there for them and adore them still.
Yo, thank you, 🙏🏽 I love that record. It’s crazy because I’m releasing a song titled “Projectors” this month for my EP “Head Room”. Should I do a mash up? 🤔
Your reactions to Country Carter's music are refreshing! Your insights into her genius, from her notes to the placement of instruments, are spot on. Your appreciation for the intentionality behind her runs and the dynamics of her performances is evident. Moreover, the way you connect with the music, almost like a spiritual experience, adds another layer of depth to your reaction. And let's not forget the gentleman in the back seat, whose contributions to the discussion were invaluable. Shout out to him for connecting so many dots! Overall, a fantastic analysis and reaction!
Jewel, thank you so much for this feedback. It's comments like this that make me want to continue to do content on this channel! I appreciate you for watching and commenting, and I hope you'll return to my channel for future content!
Hive can tell that dude in the red hasn’t really listened to a Beyoncé album before because every album from the first is an experience and all of it builds from one album to the next. I hope he goes back and gives the discography a chance…from the beginning.
She recorded all three acts at the same time cowboy Carter was going to be act I but she released renaissance instead she felt it was needed because of COVID. If you listen to the last they all flow together if you listen to the last song of renaissance
26:52 Beyoncés country is well seasoned chicken, and this song was hot water cornbread, collard greens with hot sauce 😂 I mean the other songs ARE country and this one is country flavored Beyonce 🤷🏻♂️ idk if I made any sense, and before anyone starts 🙄 that’s what I had for lunch today with some leftover ham and I cooked it myself on a cast iron skillet
Flamenco is from Spain and has a lot of history that involves her French Creole heritage on her mom side. Too much to type, so in short...Gitano/Iberian/South of France/Egiptano which is Egypt-Egyptians. It's deep. I luv Bey. But yeah, research Flamenco and Beyonce heritage in the south as French Creole. Genius.
😅😅😅😅😅and remember now, " COWBOY CARTER" was done before " RENAISSANCE" so its soooooo old to BEYONCE.....and by now, im sure yall know THIS NOT A COUNTRY ALBUM, ITS A BEYONCE ALBUM
Love this video. But no lie. Dude in the back was kinda annoying. Wasn’t he the non-Beyoncé fan ? 😅 but now you’re an expert on what exactly this project is? Lmao bro was DYING. To get his comments in instead of just enjoying. Just had to be the smartest in the room huh ?😂❤ all In all I did enjoy the video. ❤
@@kiellewalker3431 I agree. I didn’t hate the video. I hated his arrogance. He had his phone the whole time constantly looking everything up. If you’re a real Beyhive fan, you’d know that this is a marathon. Not a journey. So hopefully now his opinion has changed of her artistry. However; the fact he never let the main UA-camr speak and would constantly cut in with his comments as if he could define what this was , is annoying to me. It just gives egotistical vibes. I been following this woman’s work for over 21 years. So I don’t get excited when a conceited rapper thinks he can compartmentalize what he’s just now hearing. I don’t hate him or the video AT ALL! He made valid points but I guess what irritated me was his arrogance as if he’s like the next Stevie wonder or something. Bro was constantly on his phone googling what everything was and then would stop everyone just for him to insert a critic or explanation. WHO needs an explanation from a former hater ? Lmao. If you know , the you just know. He became the focal point of the whole video and for what I don’t Know lol. I’m glad he enjoyed it. But acting like he was teaching all of us something is completely wild 😂
I guess im lost on the hype of a bunch of random sounds being forced together so it can be considered "ground breaking" or A "masterpiece " i give her props for her marketing, but she is about as deep as a kiddie pool
Taylor ain’t even shit, ALL she has is numbers and that’s it, no acclaim, no legacy, no status, no power or longevity. I can’t name a single legend that has vouched for her music or talent? Can’t name a single legend that she’s performed with? Cant name a single greatest singers list she has made? Can’t name a single double superbowl headline? Can’t name a single Coachella headline? Can’t name a single acclaimed Oscars performance? Can’t name a single legend she’s tributed? Can’t name even 20 Grammys she’s won? Can’t name a single Alist celeb that goes to her tours? Can’t name a single person that thinks she can perform? 😂 can’t name a single time she has broken the internet? Can’t name a single time she has been the focus when Beyoncé’s in the room? it’s not not even close 😂😂
This entire album resonated with me. But not with you. Still I respect your opinion. Your doing exactly what Linda Martell said you should. And why Beyonce was so deliberate in featuring Linda on this album: Do you. Like what you like. Ignore all those insults.
she has stopped promotion. she doesn't acknowledge it. Beyonce has said she hates promotion. She's been in this game for almost 30 years, she's outselling people who came before her, selling more than people that came in the game at the same time as her, and people that came out recently. Plus, she's the only black artist to have all of her album surpass 1B streams, and had the largest streaming debut for any black artist. Y'all just hate her
@jacobkirk7298 Her album is promoting itself. Ever see a painter stand by their artwork in a museum all day long as the public stands and gazes at it? No. That artist is busy on their next project. You are correct. As we all know alot of people are intimidated by her and feel threatened. Which too me is childish. They literally give her more power over them than she wants. And to a great degree its all that hatred, mocking, and of course racism, that adds more fuel for this album because it just draws more attention to it. If you don't like this album, no problem. It ain't for you. Just move on and enjoy something else.
Beyoncé daughter opera The juxtaposition between the English verses being a fantasy about murdering her husband and the mistress and the Italian opera being a mourning and yearning for her lovers warmth that’s concealed within This duality is flawless. The woman is acting so strong and deadly but deep inside she’s fragile and vulnerable and in absolute despair. 🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻

A little bummed we didn't get Just For Fun but still a great reaction
So sorry for that, we had some technical difficulties! We will do better for the next one! What do you think we should review next?
Love Alligator Tears, not alot do. Feels so Swampy and Acidy to Me!!!
my favorite changes every week with this album but alligator tears has climbed it’s way up for me. definitely swampy vibes
I LOVE Alligators Tears, in fact I might do a special video around it soon. Can I count you in to watch?
Alligator Tears seems dissonant on purpose to me. I think homeboy in the front seat peeped the way they notes “felt off”. He’s right, but it was supposed to feel that way.
40:55 man's speaking facts since the beginning of the video!
Thx you 🙏 glad you enjoyed it
Facts!!!
Yall gotta check out Black Is King
Oooh! that's a great idea, I think that album is highly slept on. I need to give a real listen on camera! Can I count you in to check it out?
It's what she's become known for.
The Superficial and surface level won't fully appreciate this album over the more curious and expansive minded.
This was perfect. I think you guys could get even more traction by disclosing that you all either create or study music. People will appreciate your credentials
That’s a great idea thank you. I just released my newest EP🧢 “HEAD ROOM” Season Finale. I would love to hear your feedback. orcd.co/headroom
Which one is the hater? Because everybody i see is gettin their lives!!!
Haha! Right? Beyonce has that affect on people ! Thank you for watching!
Love this, you 3 gotta do a Renaissance reaction!
Thank you for watching! I think we will be doing Renaissance soon! I posted a poll on my page, please vote if you have a second!
That last Jolene run got all of y'all rocking your heads 21:15...😂😅😊
these guys understand music!
Love American Requim!!! I get such a 60's Peace and Love and America come together For Once......vibe from it!!!
When the guy in the back seat got up on bodyguard
I’d actually love to see more Beyoncé haters react to her music 😂
This was an educated and interesting take on an album that I've listened to FAR too much
Thank you so much for watching! We definitely tried to be different from other reactions, so I appreciate you for noticing! I hope to see you in the comments on future videos!
Omggg I love this reaction 😭 & YOU BETTA SINGGGGG
American Requiem for the musician in me 😭
16 Carriages!! I cannot get over this song
Bodyguard eats!
Spaghetti because whatttt?! She is crazy for that one
Alligator Tears is it!
Riverdance, II Hands II Heaven, Tyrant, Sweet Honey Buckin!!! Yes! All of them. I love how unique they are.
All of the songs are lovely but these are one that I'd play every single day.
Interlude appreciation:
Dessert Eagle is THAT girl!
I love My Rose! She was SANGINNNN throughout this whole album. So many stank faces! 😭🤣
Honorable mention: Daughter! Who hasn't sung that song as a choir nerd or music major? It is Italian. Caro mio ben
Play this album into Renaissance!
Dolly Parton plays her nails as an instrument. That clicking noise on the beat in Tyrant is Dolly playing her nails.
Just checked out y'all music 🎵 WOW!! amazing bodies of work ❤
Thank you so much! That really means a lot, I appreciate you taking the time out to listen. 🙏🏽
Alligators are native to North America and the meaning is being In a relationship with someone that pouts and cries but you're still gonna be there for them and adore them still.
Passenger seat can SINGGG. We hear you king on protector

I can't believe yall cut yaya like that we need the full reaction
The opera part in daughter is italian
The piano in Bodyguard is from Lotta Love by Neil Young!
"America" Get Your Shit TOGETHER!!!!! NOT ONE PERSON SHOUD BE AND FEEL THAT THEY AND THEIRS ARE BETTER THAN ANY OTHER!!!!
We need more reaction from Beyoncé. How about reactions from other projects like The Gift, The Carters, Renaissance.
Great reaction!
Thank you so much for watching!
Wel ome to the hive friend in the backseat💙🐝
"Beyonce she is music "
Loved yall reaction!
Ya Ya all the way!!!!
great reaction and review
I wish I could hang out with y'all. Y'all seem like a VIBE...
Bodyguard gave me Fleetwood Mac vibes
Raspberry Beret= Bodyguard💜💜
Yassss!!!!!!!!!💖 That's it!!!!
As long as it has 1 of 5 instruments and tells a story it can be put in Cuntry genre
She never said it was a country album
Next Renaissance Album plz
The song bodyguard gives me 90 vibes of Sheryl Crow for some reason.
26:52 Beyoncés country is well seasoned chicken, and this song was hot water cornbread, collard greens with hot sauce 😂 I mean the other songs ARE country and this one is country flavored Beyonce 🤷🏻♂️ idk if I made any sense, and before anyone starts 🙄 that’s what I had for lunch today with some leftover ham and I cooked it myself on a cast iron skillet
the last part of the album is transitioning to renaissance thats why theyre no longer country-ish
Friends, react the Album FUNK GENERATION by ANITTA!
The Album already has 300 million streams on Spotify in just 2 weeks of release!🎉🎉🎉
Good album recation I'm also a beyhave
No. Bodyguard has hints of Prince's Raspberry Beret. Ya, Ya is the Tina Turner influenced one. 😉
Enjoy these songs but I do Love Rennascance more. Act II, however, is a Movement!!!!
NO 2 hands 2 heaven slander EVER 🙄
Daugther: it's Italian, not latin.
hii where is the renny reaction? get the boys together and upload
🔥🔥🔥 great reaction !!
Genius.
Did the version you listened to not have "Just For Fun" on it? Or did you skip it?
I would love to see yall reaction to self titled or lemonade
It’s annoying that y’all got a hater in the back 😂
But it’s ok, everyone’s entitled to their own opinions ❤
He was back there getting his life 😂
I definitely was not hating lol this album was awesome 😎 but thxs for the comment 🙏
@@adiaz83 listen to her self titled album 🫶
Same.
😅😅😅😅😅and remember now, " COWBOY CARTER" was done before " RENAISSANCE" so its soooooo old to BEYONCE.....and by now, im sure yall know THIS NOT A COUNTRY ALBUM, ITS A BEYONCE ALBUM
Its a garbage
WHY do you all keep saying this or that isn't a country song? Beyonce CLEARLY said, This ISN'T a country album, it's a Beyonce album.
Its Italian
😭😭😭😭👑👑👑👑👑🐝🐝🐝🐝
Y'all have Catholic background?
I’m Marcus (the guy on the right), I don’t have a catholic background but I did study classical music in college as a major.
that was definetely latin lol that being italian
That was not Latin. It is an Italian opera.
Idk I liked him cuz he appreciates the art without being a fan and it kinda make the subject even better. He gets it without being a fan. No bias
He became the focal point of the whole video and for what I don’t
Know lol. I’m glad he enjoyed it. But acting like he was teaching all of us something is completely wild 😂

@@Birdiealway i don't
I guess im lost on the hype of a bunch of random sounds being forced together so it can be considered "ground breaking" or A "masterpiece " i give her props for her marketing, but she is about as deep as a kiddie pool
Taylor Swift is eating Beyoncé’s lunch😂😂😂😂😂
Be so fr Bey could do any of Taylor’s songs in her sleep.Taylor couldn’t even dream of doing any Beyoncé songs 😂😂
Vomit worthy fake news comment 🤮
They aren't even in the same lunch room. Need you to take you and your elementary school ass artist up out of here!
The album sucks. That’s why it’s already at number four behind a year-old Morgan Wallen album.😂😂😂😂
That’s called racism. And sexism.
So is every other album that came out in the last year. So they all suck then? That’s the dumbest take I’ve ever heard
This entire album resonated with me. But not with you. Still I respect your opinion.
Your doing exactly what Linda Martell said you should.
And why Beyonce was so deliberate in featuring Linda on this album:
Do you.
Beyoncé daughter opera
The juxtaposition between the English verses being a fantasy about murdering her husband and the mistress and the Italian opera being a mourning and yearning for her lovers warmth that’s concealed within
This duality is flawless. The woman is acting so strong and deadly but deep inside she’s fragile and vulnerable and in absolute despair. 🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻
