I think it’s crazy to go to that amount for delay instead of just getting one, but you’re way is genius in my humble opinion! I really learned something valuable! Thank you for sharing!
1:31 - motion sequencing can be done with any of the clear knobs (except for Tempo), and can also be programmed by holding down the individual key when you first enter it in Step Mode and adjusting the parameters while the key is depressed. Like in your demo, the LED for the step will blink as the parameters are adjusted to indicate that they are being recorded for that step. If you really want to just go wild and "doodle" in the parameter changes, you can hit the record button while you have Motion Sequencing turned on, then adjust the parameters while the loop is playing. This works really well for adding some variety to high-hat hits and record scratches for example.
I wonder if you can help me confirm a thing ... There is something with my Volca ( or it's that way on all volca Sample 2 ) ... I have a pattern with some muted samples. When I use the "solo" function, it does what it does, but after I turn the "solo" off, all parts are unmuted automatically. I want the muted to stay muted, but may be that's how the Sample 2 works ? : )
I was looking at videos all day about the Korg volca sample and now I seen this video and for sure want to get one of these what’s a good site besides guitar center to buy this from?
Hey dude, this video was fantastic! If you don’t mind, could you dive into how Volca works with a keyboard and if there’s maybe any hidden things going on in that keyboard/midi/Volca bubble people may not be aware of
These really are pro tips! Can't overstate how useful a sequencer is when combined with samples! 😳 How does that box handle sample lengths? Like that piano sample was a good 8-10 seconds long. If you include it in a pattern does it truncate and restart before finishing according to the pattern length? I hope that made sense.
If you include a sample that's longer as part of a sequence it will cut off and restart when the sequence loops, but if you're "playing" any sample with your fingers live, it will continue until it finishes. Source: own of these
If I want a sample to play over more than one measure I just copy the measure to another pattern but remove the trigger of that sample. That way everything else repeats but the sample continues through its playback.
You have to use Lord's Volca Sample librarian app, they have one for the Sample 2 and it handles transferring and erasing samples and patterns and all that.
Thanks Josh, I had the 1st one and that process was terrible. I got the new 2nd generation volca sampler. How do I get lords volca sample library. Is it an app??
Thanks so much Josh, you were a great help Love you music and channel bro. I have to get it on my desktop. Unlike the 1st sampler that used audio pocket that never worked for me. Thanks again and I might need your help later. New volca sample 2 coming in today from Sweetwater 👍🏿🙏 Thanks 🙏 again I enjoy your information. New subscriber to you 🙏
Awesome stuff still getting to grips with my sample 2! I have a question, do you know if the pajen firmware works with the sample 2? Looking at it for the 4x poly mode etc. Thanks Craig
Hey Josh just a question regarding motion sequencing pitch, does that mean I can create a sequence of a sample in different pitches? The one thing holding me back from buying a Volca Sample is the inability to play samples chromatically. But this tip reminds me of how you program notes on some Pocket Operators. Thank you for this video!
@apluve178 not sure if this is helpful now but volca sample cannot chromatically play notes from a midi keyboard. There is however, free custom firmware you can install, as well as a special midi cable you can purchase as a workaround. Both options will enable this feature
hi great video - I have the 1st gen volca sample. I cant change the pitch of a sample as you have done in the motion sequence section of your video.. Any idea if this only works with the sample 2? anyone?? thanks
Sample 2 does have a delay function. Press the function button and turn the start point knob. The display will read dl.00 - dl.66
Oh yeah, thanks 😮
thank you

@@grunntalll not sure, sorry. I've only messed with the v2 model
Straight up my man! Good stuff. Hope your channel takes off!
Thanks, man! : ) You are the best!

Tough people recognize that showing love takes strength, so I think those sunglasses are perfect 😉😍
There is delay on the volca sample
Beauty. Great tips.
Thank you!

Ace tips Josh. More of the same for any volcas please. Cheers. Lee
Thank you! Glad you dig it. I plan on picking up a Volca Keys at some point, maybe that'll be my next Volca vid.
Very helpful info. Thanks!

Like, per say can it be played as a drum kit? If even keyboard chromatic notes?
Loved the video, what is the application you use to put your samples on the volca and where do you download it?
how could I connect the volca to a midi controller? Would I need a controller with midi out though? I have an Arturia MINILAB MKII
"very caffeinated piano performance" LOL !
Thank you, haha.
Thanks! Great tips....

@@dylan_kelly that makes sense!
@@Two-Eyed_Boy yeah, each sample is monophonic so it'll cut itself off if it's retriggered, or play the full sample if not.

Nice video! I have the first generation volca sample, and while it is similar to the 2, it does come with shutter shades.
Dang, I shoulda got the first gen.
can you the the step motion seq on it? cause i couldnt figure it out...
thank you man!
Anyone know why mine just turns off after saying BT.LO
Can you tell me how to transfer samples into sample 2
You have to use Lord's Volca Sample librarian app, they have one for the Sample 2 and it handles transferring and erasing samples and patterns and all that.

Hi, any ideea why my volca sample 2 its not recognized by the librarian app?
very useful! thanks! question: how do you delete a sample that you've loaded onto the Volca to free up space?
Thank you! And to delete a sample, as far as I know, you need to use the PC app.
Awesome stuff still getting to grips with my sample 2! I have a question, do you know if the pajen firmware works with the sample 2? Looking at it for the 4x poly mode etc.

but you can make it slower than the minimum tempo in volca?

Yep, if you motion sequence it, you can program in melodies, similar to sequencing pitched samples on the PO-33 pocket operator.
@@JoshIsMakingMusic thank you for your response! Another question i have is if you can connect midi keyboard to the sample

Just got it in the mail today, perfect timing! lol
Oh man, have fun! The Sample's rad.
Just got mine today :D

after seeing the leds i understand the sunglasses.
Fu*k, now I want to have a Volca Sample😁
They're pretty awesome and cheap little sample sequencers. I wish they had a line-in for sampling, though!
wowowowowowow
Bionicles! Haha
I'm so upset mine didn't come with a bird. Stupid KORG.
If they ever do a special edition of it, that's what they've gotta add.
it's not a sampler
