      @@SynthswithLeo Can a single sample on one channel be pitched differently per step??

    • @goodatsolitaire
      @goodatsolitaire 2 роки тому +9

      @@thepcgamer2169 Yes. Hold down the step that you want to change the pitch of and turn the speed knob. You can actually change almost any parameter on any step by using this method. I think you have to enable motion sequencing first in order for this to work. You can see him demonstrate this at 3:00 in the video above, where he adjusts the start point and length parameters on individual steps.
      However, if you do it this way, it will just show the pitch as a numerical value on the LCD screen. Not especially useful if you're used to working with a 12-note octave - what note on the chromatic scale is "16" or "27" supposed to correspond to?
      With the Sample 2, there is a solution to this, although it's a bit cumbersome. Hold down the step that you want to change. Now press and hold the FUNC key *while* turning the speed knob. The LCD screen will now display the pitch in semitones instead of whatever weird numerical values it usually uses. So if you want to detune a sample three semitones (say, from E down to C#), you can turn the speed knob down until it says "-3". It takes a bit of weird finger-stretching, but it can be done. Also keep in mind that doing it this way limits how much you can tune a note - I think the limit is two octaves or something, whereas if you do it without using the FUNC key, you get a bigger range, but without the chromatic tuning.
      Good luck figuring out what the fuck I'm talking about. This has been my TED Talk, thank you and good night.

    Hey man I loved the video. It is very nice to know that I can chop up a custom sample and use different parts of it. I really was wondering if my brand new Mac M1 Pro is going to work with this device. I read a scary review where the guy said the app did not work on his Mac. This was some time ago and I saw that Korg last added their program recently this year, so I am hoping that it works on my computer. There are 3rd party apps too, so I am hoping that I can use those in the worse case scenario.

    One thing I like about the sample one is the way you can just hold ”function” and switch patterns really quickly to blend them together while playing. The newer ”pattern chain” method, doesnt work for that, at least on the volca drum. I have been assuming on the volca 2 it is the same deal.

    Such a well produced video with lots of great info! Thank you. Once quick note: When you're transposing notes in semi-tones, the "5" isn't a "fifth". It's the fifth semitone in a chromatic, 12 note scale. If you want a fifth to your root note, then you need to set it to the "7" semitone.
