"The Band", well, almost! What a great performance. Might be one of their best live performances since the Last Waltz
The original DVD source was filled with noise and was very grayish. Many times a restoration work is a trade-off. There was this strange grey-black wave that went on the full performance. Only option was to make it dark as possible. Yes, some darker details got lost, but it's still I prefer this way. You can see the gray part at top left corner sometimes.
Audio: Removed the 60hz hum, which is really typical for bootleg videos. Removing hum gave it more clarity. Slight hiss removal. I couldn't remove all (well, I could have, but it would have made this concert sound tinny and metallic). I'm not a fan of hiss removal. Some EQ to make it more balanced.
I finally got a new PC. Some upgrades are still coming. Hopefully getting new videos more often. Make sure to subscribe!

Rick Danko is criminally underrated in his bass playing
It's so fun to play along on a classical guitar.
Loved Richards voice, levons too, the greatest super group, the band, RIP, rich, levons, rick
Love this. It's priceless to see the focus on Richard.
Richard was great..... rest in peace
To have 3 great vocals in one band is down right insane. Thats why the band in my opinion is top 2 greatest bands ever
Could be the only concert video where the camera focus is on Richard. Thanks for posting!
Richard Manuel is such a talent. Love his voice and playing.
Love Richard! The Band has been my favorite group for 50 years!
What a performance! It's sad to see Richard looking this way but his voice and playing is absolutely spot on. Great BV's from Levon too
He looks and sounds good
Around this time he was actually clean and sober. The video description says the video has a greyish tone to it due to the cleaning up they had to do from the original video source. That's likely why he looks kinda grey.
@@ducttape82kinda?
Man, I love these guys. Their music is timeless.
Have you ever seen someone having so much fun as Levon Helm?
1984.....How good it was to be young beautiful and talented!!
Richard is unique ! Thank you for posting !
My pleasure!
Big whole in the sound where Garth is supposed to be. Still a great performance.
Wow! Fantastic. Thank you for posting, shared and subscribed!
That's such a sweet looking bass
The Gibson ripper
Holy crap Richard working dem KEYS
My favourite song of the band 💗👏💗
Richard my favorite
Mercy all
Pure class
Poor Richard he's about 40 / 41 here but the drugs / booze had ravaged him. A beautiful immensely talented soul..
True, but he was sober during this period. I think he sounds better doing this song here than in The Last Waltz (still prefer that preformance, has more soul in it)
yes smoke drink coke
Excellent ❤️😎
Awesome
Love this ❤️
I love the Band! The music is timeless. So, good I'd even call it classical rock music in the sense that it could be put alongside Mozart, Beethoven, etc; However, a Vietnam Vet buddy who saw them back them told me he thought Manuel might've been holding a sad secret leading to his demise. He told me to look at him. Really look at his appearance. He thought he might've caught the damned bug in the 80s. I am not claiming he did but when one looks at this footage he does appear to have the "look".
he fucked around and got HIV. it's fine.
Those three were such great singers! Casual music fans might think they didn’t really need Robbie but if the drugs hadn’t been such an issue they might have all been together making great new music rather than being on a nostalgia tour playing their old hits. Drugs prevented a lot of good music but then maybe they were responsible for a lot of good music. It didn’t end well for Richard.
Casual music fans would be so wrong about Robbie. All he did was write some excellent songs and play incredible guitar.
I’d tell those “casual fans” one thing: this guy wrote two songs that Ronnie Hawkins recorded in the early 60’s. Robbie was around 14. As a slightly older teen, he was an accomplished enough guitarist to have outdueled Fred Carter JR AND Roy Buchanan to keep his place in the Hawks.
Yeah. I’ve actually seen comments from morons who called him “untalented”.
@@robertbruce6865I didn't know that about Roy Buchanan and Robbie dueling. I'd love to have been there.😊
Robbie sucks
None of them looked too healthy, but they weren’t in it for their health
Richard looks gaunt as hell, hard drugs like alcohol , coke and speed take there toll.
Reminds me of the Johnny Paycheck line “ we had give our all to music and soon… well give our lives”
GREAT song. Where was Garth Hudson?
Did they do any more songs during this concert? And great performance. Too bad Richard only had a few years left in him it’s such a tragedy that he died
he gave those last years to us though, Thanks Richard
@@leviballouramage624 and they’re my favorite of him. I’d say his suicide is one of the biggest tragedies of music
Actually, less than a year from this performance.
I’ve visited the Cheek to Cheek Lounge in Winter Park, as well as the hotel next door where Richard took his life. The Lounge was a dive. The hotel slightly better. A shitty place to die.
REMEMBER .... BIG PINK ....
Even at his weakest, Richard's voice was like no other.
Excuse my ignorance, but what does it mean in the description where it says "AI enhanced 4k"? Is a.i. enhancing the audio or the video? Or both? What is it enhancing exactly? Just the quality of the recording? It wouldn't, like, auto-tune his voice, would it?
Where’s Robbie?
I see Jesse Colin Young, stage left, right next to Richard, but where is Roger McGuinn?
Not spotting Roger McGuinn in this lineup. ??
Is that Richie Havens on the right??
yes
Was Robertson gone at this point?
They didn't Need Robbie, but he helped.
robbie created this song about RMs problems [booze n hard drugs].
Richard looks thin here.
Lol these AI enhancements are uncanny valley af. Cool though, good work.
Richard at 41 looks like 71, why wasn't he in rehab?!?!
Not seeing what you are. 71? Naah, he looks, maybe 48, but not bad at all! He's sprightly with energy.
Heroin
@François Gaspard he wasn’t drinking but was still using narcotics
He looks good here
He was clean and sober in the early 80s, he only relapsed shortly before his suicide the following year. I'm sure the drug abuse had aged him, but he wasn't on anything at the time this video would have been filmed.
I wonder if they compensated Robbie for playing his song. Probably.
Haha. I'm sure ol' Rob was just rolling that he didn't get every cent from this performance.
You can see death creeping up on Richard. He looks like a skeleton.
garth? guitarist?
Not sure about Garth. Robbie wasn't welcome...
76 to 84 richard is scary. any photos of him in 86?
