    A wet buff on your neck really helps with the heat, you get a bit of evaporative cooling as you ride.

    The DR650 just tractored right up. Nice job!

    “Forgive my breathing…”, heh, no place for old men right? That track is one of a heck of a special stage. What is next? Keep ‘‘em coming. Cheers.

    steep, loose rock, long climb..it's true ..the vid camera tends to flatten out the terrain..this was steep.. good times on the DR650...... kudos

    DR has a factory lowering system.
    Pretty easy to deal with
    On the rear anyway...

    I just picked up a 2023 Dr650 about 2 weeks ago and it is an awesome bike! Do you plan on adding anymore aftermarket parts?

      Congrats on your bike! Yes, I'll be adding quite a bit of things to my DR and first it will be a new seat!

    Have you had a chance on the XR650? I would be curious if you had a comparison between the KLR650,DR650, and XR650. Great video, always enjoy

      Nope, haven't had the pleasure of riding the XR650. Almost bought one but the seat height of the DR was better for me. Appreciate you watching!

      With a 30" inseam, I can't even get an XR650L off the sidestand if I'm already on the bike.

    That was an awesome ride. Glad you weren't doing that with the stock deathwings, those tires were mediocre at best, until you hit sand. Then they were absolutely useless.

    • @precipiceofgrind
      @precipiceofgrind  Рік тому

      Yeah, stock tires came off after break in. Tusk D Sports doing a great job! Appreciate you watching!

    I took my Dr 650 from Butte MT over the top of the East Ridge by Our Lady of the Rockies to Delmoe Lake , unreal knarly , avg aprox 2mph , trials bikes would’ve been better . Only dumped it once - never again😂 but nothing has intimidated since as long as I’m on my trusty DR

    I'm 6'4 220lbs. I used to own a KLR650, but I hated how high up I sat on it. Do you think the DR650 would be a good fit for me?

    • @precipiceofgrind
      @precipiceofgrind  Рік тому +1

      It depends, the DR650 (stock) has a pretty high seat. I'd imagine being your size, it wouldn't be an issue but I could be wrong. Best bet would be to go sit on one at a dealership, maybe test ride. From what I hear, lowering the DR isn't a big deal at all. I'm 5'10" with a 32" inseam and I'm on my toes at a stop, especially with the seat swap I did. Awesome bike!

      @precipiceofgrind thank you! I love that there are so many available mods for it and am confident if it doesn't quite fit me stock, I can get it there.🙂

    Have you done anything with the suspension at all?

    • @precipiceofgrind
      @precipiceofgrind  Рік тому +1

      Nope, suspension is still stock. I don't have any immediate plans for that, doesn't really bother me.

      @@precipiceofgrind I was only wondering because I recently got my DR650 and the suspension hasn’t really bothered me either. Thanks for the reply sir, love your videos.

    If it was a klr you would have gone down. For the life of me I can't understand why the klr gets soo much overhype, and the Dr is so consistently overlooked and forgotten about.. The dr650 is better then a klr in every way except highway and it's PR campaign..

    • @demetriuscooksey7147
      @demetriuscooksey7147 Рік тому +3

      Klr people just like talking about KLRs. But look at the used market. You'll find 20 to 1 KLRs to DRs for sale. People who get DRs don't sell em, they just ride em.

    • @larrytucker1945

      He didn’t go down on the KLR when he did it.

    • @RKmndo
      @RKmndo Рік тому +1

      I even prefer the DR for slabbing. It's smoother and doesn't mind revs, but it doesn't even rev too high with dirt-capable 14/42 sprockets.
      People generally prefer the KLR because they don't want to swap tanks, fab/install a windscreen, or toughen up their cheeks. They might also prefer a bit more space for a passenger.
      I don't need a windscreen or a different seat, but a 5gal tank or bigger makes 1000-mile days easier on a DR.
