      Thanks for all commenting because it’s really hard for me to understand what constitutes “deaf” because watching this video, I’m wondering, if she’s deaf, how would she know if you’re enunciating words correctly. From what I’ve read in the comments, hearing aids help tremendously?

    Seeing Haben Grima made me go back in time and visualize one of my historical models, Hellen Keller, in real time. Hellen Keller has been one of my models growing up as I learned her story in my grade 7 English comprehension book. I am still amazed how Hellen Keller did what she did. When I see Haben do what she is doing as a deaf blind student, I am humbled deeply praising the Lord for giving us someone like her to inspire us in our time. What an extraordinary woman. But then I watch this and become very thankful of what my stroke didn't take. My sight and hearing. I'm so grateful I still have both. And it's very inspiring that Girma doesn't let it stop her. Despite her disabilities, she keeps pushing forward. ❤ I'd hire her as my lawyer within a second

    I'm curious to know how she speaks so well! I've seen a few videos of Hellen Keller talking and it's very slow and stuttered, whereas Haben conducts here conversations normally (albeit with a slightly noticeable tone-deafness). How on earth did they (her and her teachers) do it?

    • @theonlymeaning
      @theonlymeaning 8 років тому +10

      Matthew Thompson " SHE and her teachers...."
      It all depends on when the person loses their hearing...she obviously lost her hearing after learning to speak. Helen Keller was an extreme case and all the more astounding. She lost her sight and hearing before age two.
