I used to be so addicted to playing games and in recent years, on social media. And over time, my mental health just plummeted. I used to read instruction manuals for games while eating breakfast I didn't sit down much and read proper books; except maybe a small one here & then. Just a few weeks ago, I figured 'Screw it' and just sat down and read a book I purchased a few months ago at a convention. Then after that, I got onto reading the Harry Potter books after years of telling myself "I need to sit down and read those as they're different from the films". And I find I'm a whole lot more focused while reading than when I do anything else; even video games don't hold my attention like they used to. So, it feels very refreshing to just sit down, relax and read for a change as my mind is one to struggle with concentration; at least in recent years, it's been difficult. Nearing the end of book four (The Goblet of Fire), and I don't want them to finish, I'm having too much fun with them. But I'll move onto something else soon enough after the final book; I have a decent backlog that have been put aside for years.

I've always loved reading, but there was a time in my life, that I neglected that passion. However, I have since fallen in love with reading again. Right now, am reading, The Total Money Makeover by, Dave Ramsey. It's a good book.
I love reading am an only child for my father so I never had much people around to talk to and I just read most of the time and it really increases my knowledge and gives me many advantages in class
Whenever I feel overwhelmed with life I re read the Harry Potter series. It reminds me of happier times in my youth and it’s a great comfort to me and helps me see things in a better way.
Besides my family, books are my life. I started my children off in life reading to them every night even as babies and now they're college graduates with Masters Degrees and have high-income careers. If anything this country should do, I would say 'Make America Read Again'. Without reading and acquiring knowledge, we are sitting ducks - allowing others to shape our lives, opinions and thoughts. Those with knowledge and think for themselves are invincible. These individualistic thinkers are what governments fear. They prefer the group-think of the masses. And we know, or should know, what happens when group-think occurs. Reading - and imagination - are the keys to understanding yourself and the Universe around you.
I read 15 - 30 minutes of nonfiction in the mornings before I get up. Then an hour of fiction when I get home from work to unwind. I usually read for a couple of hours a day on the weekends, but something different to what I read during the week. Basically I have at least 3 books on the go.
The last time I read a book was yesterday, I started City Of Bones and finished it yesterday. It was about 480- 500 pages. But the thing is, I rarely even gain anything from reading books, I read books everyday! I remember almost everything in every book I read. I rarely even gain knowledge, usually I just gain it if it is a historical fiction book. I sometimes learn the meaning of some words from time to time. But, usually I just search a word if it is reallllly important. (Titles, etc)
I am such an avid reader. I usually have at least 3 books going at any given time....reading is so important to me, and something that Im truly passionate about. I just can't comprehend the notion that there are people who don't like to read, and therefore never read at all.
Alslamu Alikum.. Thank u for such awesome video.. And i agree with u on many points of what u mentioned there.. I'm not sure if knew this but the 1st verse revealed upon prophet Muhammad peace and blessings upon him and the beginning of his message was "Read".. It is narrated that When prophet Muhammad peace and blessings upon him was in the cave of Hiraa’. The angel came and said, ‘Read!’ The Messenger of Allaah SAWS (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, ‘I am not a reader.’ He said, Then he took hold of me and squeezed me until I could not bear it any more then he released me and said, ‘Read!’ I said, ‘I am not a reader.’ He took hold of me and squeezed me a second time until I could not bear it any more, then he released me and said, ‘Read!’ I said, ‘I am not a reader.’ He took hold of me and squeezed me a third time until I could not bear it any more, then he released me and said, ‘Read! In the Name of your Lord Who has created (all that exists). He has created man from a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood). Read! And your Lord is the Most Generous. Who has taught (the writing) by the pen. He has taught man that which he knew not.’ [al-‘Alaq 96:1-5 - interpretation of the meaning]
I agree all points in this video. When I was a student, I hated to read all kinds of book. I forced myself to read because I had to. The consequence is that my vocabulary and writing skills are poor. I have a difficult time to organize my ideas for both writing and speech. After graduating and starting my career, I start to love to read books because I have a lot of motivation for my advance career. I want to become a manager, so I need to improve my communication skills.
Reading is my adulthood habit. I don't know exactly why I started to read, but I love to read almost everything, from newspapers to mag, from online articles to books. I read at least 2 books in a month. One is on self improvement and other is ofcourse novel. It's really fun and knowledgeable exercise.
Whatever book I pick up is my current favourite. I love to read! At the moment I resonate with Dr. David Hawkins work..."Power vs Force", "Truth vs Falsehood"...etc. I find tremendous value in being able to glimpse into the minds of a variety of authors on a variety of subjects. Thank you for the video.
When I was younger I didn't use to reading books, but now I read laterally everyday and it's been a year that I've been reading everyday none stop. I'm so proud of my self because reading actually is so important and it is a great tool for even your future, and I actually regret that I didn't start reading books since I was younger but I always remind my self that's never late and I'm still 16 so I could do whatever I want.
I enjoy reading. And I have being listening to audio books to make up for the lack of reading I do some days. I hope listening to them can count as well.
i had more than 5000 books in my library and I donated 4998 of them to the library. It was hard to let all of them go, but I'm happy that some people are reading them right now, enjoying them and increasing their knowledge. The 2 books I didn't give away were: the first book I ever read (Winnie the Pooh) and the 1st Harry Potter book.
Reading books makes me motivated and gives me boost to face the public and life. I am happy coz I have wisdom books - business, philosophy, religion, family and relationship.
Reading is really a great way to workout your brain. I read all day, one time thing. My dreams were so vivid, I felt like he said in the video it open doors in my mind. Let the fresh air in.
I created a UA-cam channel so I could better remember the books I read. I do summaries and reviews. It really helps me if I need a reminder of what I previously got out of a book. I can just watch my own video, and then keep on going. However, I do plan on going back from time to time and rereading these books, and making new videos. We all change overtime, and our takeaways as we continue on this journey through life, will change as well. Great video!

I read 15 - 30 minutes of nonfiction in the mornings before I get up. Then an hour of fiction when I get home from work to unwind. I usually read for a couple of hours a day on the weekends, but something different to what I read during the week. Basically I have at least 3 books on the go.
great!!!
I am a book lover, I read everyday. It's actually help me a lot.
It is true, I have also transformed myself by reading books.
What books?
Reading is workout for your mind 👍
One of the best well made videos I saw on UA-cam, thanks!
I used to read 3 books a week in middle & high school now I’m 28 and rarely read books. I’m definitely going to change that after watching this video.
I'm reading a new book every week, it's changing my life!
I am a light and slow reader, but the point is I read
Cody Young Same, I agree
same here
I agree. It can take me months to finish a book but eventually I will finish it and that's what counts.

I have added one video link which tells how to improve reading speed.
Same I read very slowly
I started reading and I’m happy seeing myself improving
I love to read books. Anywhere, anytime.
The angel came and said, ‘Read!’ The Messenger of Allaah SAWS (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, ‘I am not a reader.’ He said, Then he took hold of me and squeezed me until I could not bear it any more then he released me and said, ‘Read!’ I said, ‘I am not a reader.’ He took hold of me and squeezed me a second time until I could not bear it any more, then he released me and said, ‘Read!’ I said, ‘I am not a reader.’ He took hold of me and squeezed me a third time until I could not bear it any more, then he released me and said,
‘Read! In the Name of your Lord Who has created (all that exists).
He has created man from a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood).
Read! And your Lord is the Most Generous.
Who has taught (the writing) by the pen.
He has taught man that which he knew not.’
[al-‘Alaq 96:1-5 - interpretation of the meaning]
I also like to read new books. It's gives me relief from stress n work. I am from Nepal
Readers are leaders.
Thanks for reinforcing my habit of reading for a least an hour a day.
Knowledge is power.
Facts!
I like this channel so much, I am from Brazil. I will go reading more. Thanks a lot!
Eye-opening video. Parents shouldn't miss it. I'm convinced that society would be different if people read more books.
I enjoy reading. And I have being listening to audio books to make up for the lack of reading I do some days. I hope listening to them can count as well.
Of course.
Deppends if you pay enough attention when listening
Out of the thousands of feeds this is the only natural video that made an impact.
Due to this pandemic, I start reading books. I will now make it a habit.
Inshallah 🙂

@@LifewithBlessing just do it! We you speak about doing something it may not going to happen.
I listen to approximately 6 audiobooks per week but I seriously need to read from a book or my emails for 20 minutes daily. Thank you for sharing.
i had more than 5000 books in my library and I donated 4998 of them to the library. It was hard to let all of them go, but I'm happy that some people are reading them right now, enjoying them and increasing their knowledge. The 2 books I didn't give away were: the first book I ever read (Winnie the Pooh) and the 1st Harry Potter book.
I read a lot it's so inspiring to my soul' I learn a lot frm the knowledge of others written in books.
Please learn some punctuation.
I love reading ever since I was little!
After watching this vedio, I downloaded 9 books in my phone and now I'm started reading. Hoping to finish all 9 books after 2 months l.
I read two books a week. Fiction, poetry, science fiction, non fiction. But mostly poetry.
I like to read one hour before I go to bed with some essential oils in my diffuser. Super relaxing!
That's a great idea I might do the same
Books are awesome👌
My year’s resolution for 2019 was to read more books. Starting my reading soon. Thank you for the video. Greetings from NYC!! ✌️
What was your goal? What are you at? Mine was 20.
Thanks so much for making this video. I used to read a lot. I want to start reading a lot--again...
Very good content!
I defiantly will read more. I have about 7 or 8 books from the library to read still
I created a UA-cam channel so I could better remember the books I read.
I am truly inspired to read more.
This is such an important message for people of all ages. Thank you so much!
I love book but I didn't know about all those benefits. Thanks
Are you a writer
“Most people think they do not have the time to read books.”
Well, try telling that now, during covid-19 lockdown!
Anyone else from the actual present?!
Yes, only 1 day in the future.
Hxnii Bear Lol, we’re still living the age of the pandemic tho.. 😉 Stay safe and happy!
