Federer actually has many shots that are the best of all time, or within top 3 or 5. Forehand = best ever, slice = best ever, overhead = top 3, volley = top 3, dropshot = top 3, serve = top 10. The freaking GOAT
Best slice backhand, I'd say. The reflex squash shots are a treat to watch, but his slice backhand is almost an offensive weapon, because it stays so incredibly low.
It's unbelievable how much power he could generate off of that forehand and still make it look so easy. If you played tennis, you'll know how hard it is to hit that and get it right. No one in the tour now can do it, and I really believe no one in the future will play as beautifully as Fed did.
I remember after hamburg's 2007 final nadal said something like "his forehand was just too good". I can't remember nadal saying that about anybody else ever again.
That's one of best-struck forehands I've ever seen Federer hit. That's the kind of shot that only Roger Federer can hit. No one can learn that sort of technique.
that Forehand alone would have been enough to win several slams even if the rest of his game would have been merely average. I still think prime RF with this Forehand is the highest level of Tennis we have ever seen. you simply had to hope he had a bad day or avoid his Forehand side at all cost. If he had a good day you didnt have a chance.
@@teoc8124 yea it wasnt really what i meant. what i really meant was average shots for a top player. most top players are pretty well balanced and have 1 or 2 things that sets them apart. like Nadal his high top spin or Djokovic his super return plus super BH. Nadal and Djokovic arguably also the strongest clutch players. or Wawrinka his BH. but i think we can agree no player had as many assets as Federer. he had many shots well above average: serve, slice, Forehand, smash, net game. so this is basically what i mean. give him an "average top players level" slice, serve and net game. he will still win slams bc he can do so much with his FH. not saying you can win slams with trashy shots. but he will not win as many. example AO 17. his backhand was really amazing.

Keep telling yourself that darling
Is not top 3 in volleying. Not even close.

@@rjamesyork In the 21st century for sure, but yeah. In tennis history overall? It is a bit of a stretch.
how is he the goat if he's got a losing record against Nadal and Djokovic, less slams and less records?

You forgot the forehand half volley winner in the Wimbledon 2003 semi final against Roddick. Roger won the second set with that shot

@@TheseHoesAreLoyalThat was a half volley hit with a full body swing. Even he was surprised by how good that shot was.

Alcaraz and Gonzalez are great too

Nobody wins slams with average shots.

Neo backhand - Top 3.
Some of the editing is a bit iffy. Didn't even see one shot because the editing was so poor.
