In Folge 2 der ersten Staffel schießt die Enterprise tatsächlich Strahl-Phaser. Daher gehe ich davon aus, dass die Enterprise beides hat. Allerdings schießt sie nur in dieser Folge Puls-Phaser ab. Da es sich um eine alternative Zeitlinie handelt, gehe ich davon aus, dass die Enterprise dort vielleicht weiterentwickelter ist.
In the TOS episode "Balance of Terror," it was clearly established that firing a phaser at the plasma cloud would detonate it, rendering it (more or less) harmless. Why didn't it work here?
