As a vinyl wrap installer, I will say... I am both envious of and highly humbled by this man. Doing a full livery in vinyl isn't necessarily easy, but this is a whole entirely different level. Love that he's keeping this art alive!
maybe a new avenue to pursue , I'll bet there's capable artists around if given a chance would jump at the opportunity
Envious is a negative word, the guy worked hard for the skill
When this guy's third grade teacher said it was time to learn cursive, he leapt for joy.
As a pinstriper and lettering artist, it’s awesome to see it done this way vs vinyl.
Me too, my dad is an old school sign man from the 70s and still can hand letter.
So much talent, not many dudes like this anymore!
That is amazing talent. Even more cool that it’s a secondary business of his, as far as means of making a living.
When the advertisement at the end is Ed talking about something:
"I'll allow it."
What is your favorite vintage race car?
512S even if it was shit
CSX Cobra
gt40/ toyota 2000gt
Gulf boss 302
Eyyyyy
LOVED the old Road Atlanta pics! I’ve been a Z car lover since my first car. A 71 240. I grew up going to the Camel GT IMSA races at RA with my dad. Then I finally became the track medical director at Road Atlanta back in the late 90s realizing a childhood dream. Thanks for the trip down memory lane!
A fantastic segment! I have been hand lettering & pinstriping since 1980, it truly is a lost Art, I still lovingly hand paint signage & race cars today as vinyl just looks cheap & doesn't have the long lasting appeal of enamel.
Hey everyone at vin wiki, I’m a Canadian kid from Manitoba! All my life I’ve ridden or drove ANY machine or vehicle with 2-10 wheels at a time aha, please next rally through Canada come make a pit stop my town outside Winnipeg Manitoba, my dad has recently had a stroke, heart attack and might now have MS, ALL within 8 months 😕 my dads always been the MOST humble selfless person I could have only wished for to have as a father, him and me bond over cars, fishing, and anything With a motor and he’s slowly not able to do much anymore it would be a DREAM to surprise him with a ride in a hyper car as sept 17th 2020 he turned 50 years old , he just lost his dad, my brother, my auntie, he was stripped away from me and my sister at 15 (me) and (7) her.. we would LOVE set up a car show JUST for him being so strong , he was out of our lives for was supposed to be 8 years, and when he got back he never stopped working to get us back. He will give you the clothes off his back, me and him we’re building a foxbody, he bent frame on a drag race ahaha! But anyways I am going through ALOT in life with a sick grandma and mother it would MEAN THE WORLD! To have all the cars stop buy, hangout for a little bit, and let the son whos always wished to buy him a Harley for his birthday when he was 50 but I just can’t afford it from two daughters and a wedding I’m planning. IF ANYONE SEES THIS! MAYBE SHOW ON PERSON FROM THE VIN TEAM AND SEE WHAT THEY THINK THANK YOU SO MUCH I BLESS YOU ALL FOR SAFE TRAVELS AND HEALTH WITH FORVER GREATNESS!!! Oh ps... HE SENDS IT 😉
God bless you and I hope you get your wish.
this art must be preserved ,, too many trades and techniques are being lost bravo sir
From one artist and vinwiki alumni to another, great job on both your work and your story!
I agree and I hope he does more stories. So, when did you say you were going to do your next one? 👍🏼
I must admit, as an Australian, I was EXTREMELY confused about Bryson talking about his client still being good friends with Peter Brock.
I was confused too... Is there more than one peter brock?
@@JoshuaHardie Yeah, the chap he's talking about is an American dude, who was a famous automotive designer(he pitched in on the Corvette Stingray and Daytona Cobra Coupe, for two).
The connection to Datsuns here is that he also had his own design shop and racing firm, and that team eventually became the Datsun factory team, with Brock himself IIRC being one of the drivers.
He is more commonly known as Pete Brock. From an Aussie Datsun 311 fan.
The strangest thing is that Peter Brock (the Australian) died after crashing his Daytona Coupe, a car designed by Peter Brock (the American).
He is still painting liveries
Why hasn't Adam Carolla been on VINwiki? His documentry "The 24 Hour War" was the inspiration for "Ford v Ferrari." He also has an amazing story on Paul Newman.
He would be an awesome guest.
Not to mention he has the coolest Datsun/Nissan race car collection there is.
yes hes a great, passionate storyteller with real love for racing and cars.
That would be a really interesting video. I’m sure he has stories galore.
No kidding! I am now retired but I had a hand lettering shop for 35 years. Race cars were always the most fun as most of the owners were" Use these colors, just do your thing. Its a cool thing to see the art progresses. The fella does some very epic work too, extreme art skills.
I grew up watching dirt oval racing in Eastern Ohio in the 80's. One of the things I miss most are the hand lettered cars.
Great story as usual. 7:58 looks like the Bill Warner Tr6 in the background
Art with maths! Love it. So humble to attribute the match on the helmet to luck. Would love to see that side by side photo if he has it.
I am really curious what something like that costs.
All of the money lol
If you have to ask, you can’t afford it
It reminds me of the old saying, "If you have to ask, you probably can't afford it!" I know I can't. 😆
@@theanomalous1401 Just curious, where is your first name from?
@@Black_Jesus3005 Not true. I ask pricing all the time. Where do you get this stupid idea that rich people don’t ask about price? Don’t get rich by being stupid with your money.
The funny intros give me life
That is freaking amazing. Excellent work my dude 👌🏽
My other comments my life long dream for my dads 50th birthday I’ve had. Rough few years so it didn’t do as I planned but I was hoping you guys could come through in the next really tough make a gift for him of a life time from his son.. he’s NEVER BEEN GIVEN ANYTHING in life from 15 yearold he moved from British Columbia to Manitoba and I would be FOREVER GREATFUL to even get my dad to see you all drive past !
Randy is the mannnn.
Super cool guy
I literally just bought a datsun 510, what a cool vinwiki to wake up to this morning!
I can do it if you want a break occasionally. Before flatbed scanners, I was reproducing from pictures and business cards. I sold, trained, and beta tested CASMATE... vinyl, paint, metal, plastics, doesn't matter, I've probably done it
Litl Bill in Indy did a huge project for us, and he is phenomenally talented! Stripers and painters are a different breed.
Damn bryson, back at it again on the vinwiki set!! 💜💜💜
This dude is top notch. Amazing craftsman. Love it. Love Vinwiki
Good video! Thanks.
Adam Carolla has Paul Newmans championship Nissians that he has restored and races. Also has racing Porshe 935 that he races. Its crazy that Ive never seen him on here.
absolute incredible talent "artist", i am very good friends with randy, peter and john as rob too. as motorsports photographer seen many cars and randy's cars truly are work of art..
Last time I was this early, the unknown resident was still out joyriding the CLA.
Your early every day
That was very interesting. Didn't expect it to be any good at the start, when I figured out the guy was a painter.
Does anyone know the paint code for the red white and blue on that livery ?
Thank you for sharing
🏆🏆🏆🏆🙏
Mad respect
they guy that used to letter IMCA modifieds that my gramps used to build was amazing, trouble was he couldn't paint a straight line unless he was at least 6 Coors Lights deep.
Nice see MCS shirt. Motion Control Suspension.
Yeah! Don't mess up lol smh... I love those Big Pressure jobs. Glad to hear shop-talk. Thank you sir
How many pitchers were there in total? 😅
How many pitchers are in this video?
Now this is the type of story I come here for!
bless the Zcargarage. That place keeps so many of ours z's on the road.
Randy is a great guy and definitely a Datsun guy
This guy is the real MVP of this meme channel
Every time he says picture I hear pitcher
The video has been up for 4 minutes. The video is 8 minutes long. I enjoyed it very much.
I was expecting to see Chastin Brand in this video. I guess there are two people in the world still doing this.
TRUE TALENT 👍🤓🇺🇸
This guy sounds either very humble or little to no confidence hahaha. Great story!
Get Gary on the channel! I bet he has some good stories.
Hand painting is getting to be a dying trade. People want cheap, so the go to vinyl.
I knew 2 painters where I grew up. One, Mr. O'John lettered the semi truck I drove
The other Mr. Hayes airbrushed my motorcycle helmet... this was in the late 70's early 80s
I would end up misspelling them all.
No ragrets!
Some of the best have diffrent spelling side to side😎
Pin striping is becoming such a lost art! Cool story, I love old Nissan’s myself.
imagine someone taking his time to paint and the driver rages and breaks the paint
This is the best
It’s called a mahl stick buddy.
So not randy pobst?
Its called a mahl stick.
who the hell is this Randy guy anyhow?
search Pakistani truck art and see how painters in my country do such hand painting everyday
Story time!
geez dude..i work in the printing business.. (30 yars +) and the helmet..just take the picture and enlarge print it on a larger printer at 100 the size of a
real helmet ..or get the specs for that helmet from the dude who asked you to paint it on.. measure the letters and voilà.. exact height size of the font.. !
Rip brocky
Wrong Peter Brock.
Obviously James is not Aussie
@@samross6597 I know about the Aussie Peter Brock, but he’s not the one being discussed here. What kind of car did “Brocky” perish in? Cobra Daytona Coupe.
This guy knows Peter brock died yeah?
The American Peter Brock, who ran BRE, is still very much alive.
Those are just regular 3” letters you get at the boat store for your boat registration....nothing more. In the 70’s you would do this in the simplist way possible. No custom painted letters. Just 5 minutes with $10 worth of letters from the boat store. But cool story!
Some say its a waste of time, others say it's a tremendous waste of time.
I’m gay?
Much love, your friends at Rev Media!!
Morning
Yoo
Wow, so early...
Yooo early gang
"Still close friends with Peter Brock"?? Umm, isn't he dead?
There are 2 Peter Brocks in racing. The Aussie driver passed away 15 years ago, the American race car designer is alive and well.
Never trust this guy with your car. Every word out of his mouth is a lie, and he will keep your car for months or even years. He has done this to several people and will keep you strung along as long as he can.
Bro it’s 2020z get a printer.
