I think that ASM are really knocking it out of the park with the new (and existing) Hydra range, all at incredible price points for what you get!

One day I will take one and resell my HYDRAsynth, but for the moment I still have so much to dive in with it....... I'm still not on the Deluxe level, this one deserves very mature synth guys with deep knowledge.
But what an absolute beast... I love it.
@1980VINZ lol, this is calling me out. I bought a new explorer as my second synth, but feels like my first "real" synth. I fell so in love with it but was really wanting the strip, audio input, and extra screens and knobs, so I returned it and am rearranging my house so I can buy a deluxe. So, at least one decidedly not mature synth guy will have one.

Watching this video and the demonstration of the Deluxe model, I'm getting an image in my head of stacking the Roland Boutique VP-03 vocoder module (vocoder being one thing Hydrasynth isn't loaded with) in the free space and using the layering features in the front panel of the Hydra to adjust the volume level for the module via MIDI. Is that an available possibility?
That idea popped in my head on September 10th when I fitst learned these 2 models were available. Made the most sense to me (even if I went with the Explorer instead), because both models include just about everything else I would want from a virtual analog synth.
P. S. Jorb, you're frankly a good keyboard player.
You can assign midi cc macros so you could control volume from a macro (and name it “vcvol” or something)

Add more macros please!!!! The Hydra makes an amazing midi controller using the macros but there are currently only 8 per patch.

I assume you can set it up so you can wiggle your hand and get different notes or arpeggiation via pressure to LFO or bringing harmonics with pressure.
The mod matrix is very configurable, essentially all parameters can be a destination
The Explorer seems like a really great deal. Even better than the desktop version.
Great video, Jorb. Gosh, I'm knee deep in finally trying to master Zebra and Pigments but this seems like SUCH a luscious sounding synth. I'm gonna have to deep dive into its wavetable capabilities and sound engine, because the Deluxe seems like it could be such an interesting centerpiece with its' twin outs for each layer.

Sup jorb question for you, I’m considering the explorer for my first synth or a korg minilouge. Do you think it would be to complicated for a noob
The Hydrasynth has way higher ceilings, you can get way more into the weeds. But just sitting down to use it, and design sounds, because the interface is so slick it doesn't feel that way. Using the signal diagram to move around sections is really intuitive.
Minilogue is really straight forward, really hands on, and does also have room to grow, just not as endlessly flexible like the hydra synth.
Both are great!
I thought the original Hydrasynth would be the last keyboard I ever purchase. How I'm happy to be wrong. Can't wait to put the original on the top tier below this deluxe 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Does the Explorer have the same patches as the normal hydrasynth? And also if you find custom patches for the normal hydrasynth will they also work with the Explorer? Just curious :)
I believe they're different presets from. The factory, but I'm not sure.
They ARE patch compatible, so yes you can use regular hydrasynth patches in the explorer & Deluxe. Deluxe multi patches will only work for the deluxe, of course

Really nice intro/overview. I just ordered my Deluxe this morning, and seeing how simple the splits and layerings of the duals are to setup and change split points, velocities, transposing and so on, is super intuitive. ASM seems to have the user interface design down to an art. :)
Thanks for this video! The keyboard splits and transpose options for each layer are highly desirable! Nice space for a sequencer/sampler on the dash. ❤️

I now have that buyer’s remorse with my few months old Hydra that Peak buyers had when the Summit came out.
I think the demand is still pretty strong, you could resell!

Sorry, the Hydrasynth Deluxe is a great synth but no amount of marketing will make me believe that the lopsided panel layer is a great feature.
On the Hydrasynth de luxe i play on after 40-45 minutes it comes a digital fizzel on the sounds especially piano and e piano sounds, any explanation or cure? thanks in advance
