I get sick of Amazon Prime sucking up so many films for rent or purchase to watch, but not to make them available as DVDs - so to find this on UA-cam is amazing.
Alfred Molina keeping it real.
Yeah Rothko was a bit difficult 😄
Great performance and play about a difficult austere man who could paint, and despite being difficult put his soul into his work, and it will be appreciated till the end of historyThis is theatre and entertainment but it's a glimpse into the depth and intensity of his feeling.and how seriously he took being an artist 🎨 thank you for posting this.
Most intelligent play ever written, and entertaining as hell, no other play written has ever done that guaranteed
I can't believe this is available online... and for FREE! 😍 It feels like Christmas came early! Love from Hong Kong.💯❤🔥
Alfred Enoch's body language in this is stellar! Thank you Mr. Molina for sharing this vision with us here.
Absolutely incredible. I have felt a deep connection to Rothko’s paintings for a long time. I’m not too familiar with him as a person. Watching this I feel even more connected. I’m an artist and the emotion and messages communicated in this play resonated deeply. Particularly, currently when I’m feeling a lack of connection with others. Very powerful and just what I was looking for. Bravo!
Unforgettable. So grateful to be able to access it here - London's a prohibitive distance away - tonnes of love!
So grateful I got to see this with Molina and Redmayne on its original Broadway run- the Four Seasons monologue at the end is burned into my brain
I agree the play is brilliantly written.
Fantastic job all around. A fantastic part to play, and I can understand why molina called this his “king Lear”.
This was honestly surprisingly amazing.
Fantastic play, superb performances..
This is my favorite play

Did our people, not also aspire and overcome.
I loved this.
But only wished for maybe less than 3/4 of the film being 'Rothko' spewing philosophical diatribe.
I am a huge fan of his work, and understand it's a play, but seeing someone yelled at for ages gets tiring?
Rothko: "Tell me what you see."
Me: "Money laundering."
I prefer Redmayne. Enoch is too charismatic for a play of this caliber smh
I saw Molina/Groff and preferred their pacing and chemistry to this version as well. Enoch is clearly talented but a bit too "actor-y" for me here. He doesn't always give the text the weight it deserves and is rather one-note in his mannerisms and speech patterns. It rings as insincere to me. Molina is much more organic and grounded in his body and the character.
i never believed people really cried in front of Rothko. Well now i believe it. I did.
