Yeah we dont stop the game after every tackle like in the NFL. So we roll the ball backwards to continue the flow of the game. The fact the game doesnt stop after every tackle makes it much more free flowing.
Hope you guys and girls enjoy it over in the US 🎉 my team are the Broncos and I can’t wait to see what you all think of it over there ❤ it’s an amazing game
Love that you rewound at different points to understand what’s goin’ on. I think you’re gonna LOVE our game!!! Would love to see a sum up reaction after the two games in Vegas!! Btw, I’m just subscribed, you give more attention to detail than most!!!
Yeh never forget 20 years back a American football team came to Australia we played 40 min of NFL then 40 min of rugby league against us ,was a savage day for the nfl boys but a fun day im sure they all remember lol
To confuse all y'all there are a bunch of types of rugby. These two games are Rugby League so 13 men aside. There is also Rugby Union which is played with 15 men and Rugby 7s which gets played at the Olympics. TLDR 7s is fast and skilful with really short games, think big cardio. Union is a viscous and complicated game played internationally by private school boys trying to injure each other. League is a great mix between the two, it is fast paced and contains the brutality of union without the skulduggery of rucking, lineouts or scrummaging.
Sydney Roosters fan here 100% excited for the US round. Look up Brisbane Broncos Captain Adam Reynolds and Patrick Carrigan get into a fight after a night out with the lads a few nights ago, bit of a laugh seeing them both apologise over teammates fighting on national news
@@NoMercy4kthat’s fair to make mistakes mate. People will often just say Union and League in countries where they are both around, and the “rugby” is just implied at the beginning, so there’s lots of ways to go about it. That definitely makes it easier to differentiate. Just know that League is the better one 😉 (from someone who played a lot of both before the injuries got me)
There is another rule that they forgot to mention and that is if the opposition gets tackled in goal with the ball or puts the ball out of play from in the tryline,it has to be dropped kicked by that opposition but if the defending side catches the ball in the tryline area then they get a 20 metre tap which allows them a 6 tackle restart advantage.
Most Aussies just call it League, so much less confusing then Rugby League and people know your not referring to Rugby Union (also just referred to as Union here) immediately then.
If the NRL can create a solid system for schools and open clubs in local areas in the US to play Rugby League like in Australia etc, Rugby League will indeed grow there and the youth will love it. Imo compared to NFL there is so much every player can do in the game like explained in the video, athletes would love the part where you play both attack and defense instead of being divided into teams.
If Americans football fan's gave this sport a chance they'd for sure fall in love with it. Rugby league is the essence of full contact, fast flying action. YOU WILL NOT FIND A FASTER FULL CONTACT SPORT. Problem is most Americans think Rugby league & Rugby union are the same sport without truly understanding the difference in speed, skill & athleticism evolved in Rugby league. THE AUSTRALIAN NRL IS BY FAR THE VERY BEST RUGBY LEAGUE COMPETITION IN THE WORLD. Kinda like the NBA compared to other national basketball league's.
not mentioned and why the ball has to be put down is there is a thing called being held up. this occurs when the player with the ball goes to ground it over the line and one or more opposition players get either a hand under the ball or roll him over so the ball doesn't touch the ground. in this case the play goes back 10m and the player who didn't put it down gets a play the ball but the tackle count isn't restarted. also opposition players have to be 10m back from the play the ball or they are considered offside.
It really is. There are (4) of arguably the greatest and oldest teams in the NRL due to kick off the 2024 Rugby League season first games in Las Vegas. 4 teams are from Sydney (NSW). They are the Rabbit(ohs) (South Sydney), the Sea Eagles (Manly Northern suburbs), the Sydney Roosters (Eastern suburbs), and the Brisbane Broncos (Brisbane) capital city of QLD North of the (Sydney) NSW border. There is a deep rivalry between the NSW clubs, stemming back to the games beginning roots, based very much on social classes. Northern NSW (Manly) is a very affluent "white collar" side of Sydney, while the Eastern and certainly the Southern sides of Sydney are where the "blue collared" hard-working families tend to be more based. South Sydney Rabbitohs have traditionally been the biggest supporters and representatives of Indigenous Australian players. When these teams play, they play hard and play to win. In the past, it was not unusual for a game to end in a blood bath. Do yourselves a favour and get to a game if you can. You won't regret it. Also, make sure to barrack for the greatest and oldest team of them all...South Sydney Rabbitohs. They even have a great club song as old as them. "Glory Glory to South Sydney." Sorry for the long post. My love for this game is a long family tradition.
But have you noticed that in a lot of the clips the games are played in relatively small stadiums that aren't even full. Reckon more watch it on TV, they don't get big stadium filling crowds unless it's the Grand Final 😊😊
Some of those "bomb kicks" are wild bro. Some players can kick the ball so high it can go up to the roof level of the stadiums (our stadiums used by the NRL are all open top). They also have a way of striking the ball that makes it go up with it's points almost completely horizontal, so when it starts coming back down, the air resistance makes the ball do wild, crazy twists and turns making those kicks near impossible to catch on the full without a fumble. The player called Matt Burton has a reputation as one of the best at kicking deadly bombs, the NRL even has a 2 minute video of him explaining how he does it. EDIT Vid link: ua-cam.com/video/xaJ_t0JA8oU/v-deo.html
It's Rugby League not Rugby, Rugby is Rugby Union. Both games are entirely different sports with way different rules & even different amount of players in a team. Also Rugby League is not called NRL. The NRL or National Rugby League Comp, is our Aussie professional domestic competition that has 17 teams. England have their own domestic league comp called the English Super League so that's why League isn't called NRL
Why not react to the British super league for rugby League the champions Wigan Vs Penrith Australia champions is this weekend in England. You should react to Wigan Vs hull 1985 game for our final
I dont know how seriously Wigan takes that game but for the NRL clubs its really just a hit out after the off season and usually wont be the same side that won the NRL competition.
