    I really enjoyed this video. Especially how Nick addresses the form of the back of the plate. Also, I learned how to cut the rim, (something I've struggled with every time I try a plate or platter.)
    The information on the texturing & how leaving the center mass until the last part to avoid the flexing of the rim was brilliant. I wish we could afford to have Nick demo at our wood club. Thank you so much for this informative video. Jim

    Enjoyed this. Have made several bowls, usually out of walnut. I'd like to use a soft maple, but all I can find online is hard maple or something similar.....what exactly (and where can I find it) do you mean by soft maple ?

      Soft Maple usually comes from the west, hard Maple from the northeast

    never wear gloves on a lathe or drill

      True it's not a good idea. I cut the fingers off of a glove that I use on some turning. When turning dry wood the hot dust burns your hand.
