- Here I show you how to completely replace the ignition coil connector on a 2007 Toyota Camry LE 2.4L
What you’ll need:
-New connectors ($24 for 4 at my local dealership)
-VERY small flathead screwdriver (ones used to work on watches are perfect)
-Safety glasses
-Gloves
-Light source
Time:
10-15 min - Авто та транспорт
I changed the spark plugs in my 2007 Toyota Camry today. All four tabs snapped off . Thank you !
Thanks so much for making this! I have an old 2006 Toyota Camry and the oil starting leaking bad from the valve gasket. I replaced the valve gasket cover seal and took it out the next day and it was still leaking..
I took it back off last night to see if the seal slipped out when I put it back on the other day and the seal had broke. I put some RTX glue/cement stuff in the slot where the seal goes and put it all back on and back together.
Once I went to plug those spark plug wires in all the dang black plastic around the terminals just turned to dust and just broke apart everywhere.. went to go take it to work this morning to see if it was working after doing all that last night and it wouldn’t start. It was clicking fast so I grabbed my portable battery jumper and that atleast started the car. But I know the issue has got to be those terminal connectors are not sitting right in that plug anymore cause the black part around them has broken off..
This is literally the only video or anything online that explains this process and how to fix it without replacing the entire wire harness set.. it’s like $60 for the wire harness kit and more time to replace versus just replacing the terminal connectors.
Thanks so much for making this!!! It’ll be cheaper AND faster for me to fix 😊
I have 4 broken connectors. I just ordered the new replacements from EBay. Can’t wait to get them in and change them. Looks easier than replacing the whole harness and way cheaper too! Thank you for this!!!
HI ,can you put the like of EBay , i wanted to buy them .thanks
Do you have a link for the items?
Fantastic! I've been hunting for a direct, clear, complete demonstration for replacing these #$%^ connectors for an embarrassingly long time. Every car I've worked on has this problem and nearly all connectors on the toyotas seem to have a similar locking/pin release strategy. So it's been super helpful for the immediate problem (ignition coils), but shed some light on my approach with all the old connectors in by 26 year old FJ80 (fuel injector and headlight connectors come to mind). Everyone that says it's easy but can't really show how has usually used a vice grip to crack the old connector apart like a walnut. Yeah, small plastic bits everywhere. THANK YOU!!
Thank you so much! The local shop quoted me at $600 for this job. I watched this video and only spent $10 for the parts.
Anival Antonio Negron so glad you were able to find it helpful and save a TON of money!
@@chriseckert08 thank you I feel like I owe you. I did like the video as you can possibly see
Thank you for you instructional video. It was very helpful that I was able to replace my broken connectors. The dealers wants $900 for a new set of wire harness. It costs $40 for a set of 4 connectors at my local dealership.
Thank you so much for this video man. I thought that I'd have to splice the wires
Fantastic. I need to this on our 2004 Toyota Sienna with 514,000 km’s. This video was very timely. Thank you.
Thank you!! Unfortunately here in Germany had been no similar diy video for this problem. Fortunately I found your absolut helpful clip. Well done!
All this happened to me when I gave my Camry a tune-up. I was thinking about doing it right and here is a perfect video showing me how to do it. Yay!
Fantastic video showing exactly what needs to be done to fix the connector! I changing out the plugs on an '11 Camry when the connector broke. I was hoping the while harness didn't need to be changed out and thankfully each connector can be replaced. Thanks again!
Thank you for taking the time to make this video. I swapped out four of these ignition coil connector housings today on my 2009 Toyota Camry, and your video was a great help and time saver!
Do all the connectors goes with the same color on the camry 09 I’m having this issue
Thanks so much Chris I have a 2005 Toyota Avalon & replaced 2 connectors thanks to your video it made it so easy , Much appreciated 👍
Thank you! You've made an excellent, easy to understand, DIY video. On my 2007 Solara V6 I replaced the front 3 in about 20 minutes.
I did this fix tonight after watching your video and a couple others.
Thank you! My brother recently replaced my spark plugs and like your car the little pieces just came off bc they are so old. He was wondering how hard it was to replace these. Very good video!
Extremely helpful for replacing my ends on my 2005 Camry. Thank you!
Been searching awhile how to do this. Came across this awesome video. Well put together and very informative. Thanks for the video. Awesome!
Exactly what I needed! Thanks for the video.
... VERY GOOD INSTRUCTIVE DEMONSTRATION ... GOOD CAMERA WORK, TOO ...
Thanks for making this video. Hopefully I do a good job this weekend on the 2007 camry.
Thanks so much! Very helpful. Much easier than splicing the wires :)
Very helpful. Other videos show splicing but I don't want to cut wires. Just bought a 2009 lexus that has a few busted connectors. Now I can replace them in a professional manner. Thank you.
Very clear & detailed information, thank you
Just the video I needed. I would advise to leave the actual ignition coil installed to prevent any debris from falling into the block though.
SUPER!!! Mine just turned to dust about an hour ago and I thought I would be splicing wires... Thanks! All I gotta do now is get some connectors.
Thank you so much for this information. I find this very helpful for my repair. I definitely can proceed with confidence.
This is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you very much.
Thank you for making this my friend, super helpful!!
Thank you! Exactly the video i was looking for, havent done it yet but it looks simple enough.
Much appreciated video. Some was obscured, which is understandable with no camera operator, but still very helpful.
My 2007 Sienna ignition connectors all are broken to bits too! I used electrical tape to wrap around it and zipped tie it for now. I will buy new connector and try to see if I can replace it permanently :). Thanks for showing us the video.
Thank you. It's just what I needed.
EXACTLY what I needed. Thanks so much sir!
Great content thanks man that plastic pieces i broke all the time on my car and now fixing them one by one.
Fantastic video! Mine just broke off trying to check the spark plugs as I just purchased this car and my immediate thought was... how do I replace these... so now I know and I really appreciate the video... very well done!

THANK YOU!!!!! ❤️
Thank you!
Very helpful
Thank you for doing this video. Just what l need to change mine. I also subscribed.
You should really put the new coil packs in first, and then break the harness so you can ensure nothing falls into the cylinder.
Thanks a lot, I was changing the gasket as well and the connectors just fell apart.
Thank you 🙏
GOD BLESS YOU
You just saved me almost 200.00 bucks
Great video... you the man! Just need a camera man next time. 😩
Great video. Can you share the part number from your dealer's receipt please.
Nice game play
Thank you for the instruction. Where do I have ignition coil connector for Camry 2007? Could you send me a link?
I am go into have to replace all six where did you get the new connector?
Where did you buy the connectors ? Thanks
Thanks.
thanks hel
do you need a specific tool in order to break the tabs to do the replacement?
Where to buy it the connector only? Autoparts only have the connector with the wires attached ($60+ each). Thank you much!
Anywhere I can buy those? Most places I've seen online sell the entire assembly which includes the wires. I don't need the wires. Mine are still good, just need the connector clips
I recently broke just the tab on 2 of mine, is it a huge issue if I put off fixing it for a few weeks ?
My dealer said I'll have to order the wire loom. What's the part number of the connector?
Does this also work for fuel injector connectors?
car not starting after wrong connection of wires for 3rd coil ..it vapes and really hot on that conector when try to start. car. cracks but not start coil replaced but still not starting. Do you think it caused a short and what could be affected now. All frustrated only car in family of 6
Are these connectors distinguished by USA or Japan like the coils cause I just made that mistake and now I've got to order japan based coils?
Do you have to disconnect battery before attempting this on the vehicle? I have a Toyota.
Where did u buy them, can get it on line
