This is a really good way to clean a knife. 👍 I usually clean and sharpen my knife once every other week. The stuff I usually use to clean my knife are, shop towels or a piece of cloth, a cotton swab, and some Break Free CLP. That stuff is for when I do a thorough cleaning though. I do a thorough cleaning every four or five weeks. If I'm just doing a regular cleaning, I get a cotton swab and I just clean the visible parts of my knife, and oil the washers. When I do a thorough cleaning of my knife, I take it completely apart, I wipe everything down with a cloth or shop towel, I get the hard to reach places with a cotton swab, then I put a little Break Free CLP on a cloth and I put a thin layer of the oil on the metal parts of the knife. As I'm putting the knife back together, I put some oil on the washers of my knife. And now I've got a nice clean knife ready for use! After I sharpen it, that is. 👍
Sometimes i throw the smaller parts in an ultrasonic cleaner with diluted dishwashing liquid while i'm working on the bigger parts. It helps get rid of most of the dirt. Other than that i pretty much do the exact same thing you do 👍😁
@@farstadoscar3150 Yeah, but if you do lube the pivot, it makes more sense to do it when the knife is apart. Not afterwards when the oil can't easily reach the desired area anymore. Too messy and not as effective. I just cleaned and lubed my squid 5 minutes ago, It' was brand new but not really smooth opening. Loads better now.

I want to change the pivots in one of my balisongs. I have the new pivots, but I don't know how to remove the original pins. I also need a whet stone to sharpen it. I bought a five dollar hand held sharpener that hold upright on the table and pull the blade through, but it only wants to sharpen the bottom portion of the blade, and not that well. This particular balisong is used as a general utility knife. I plan to do all the same with a second identical one that I have in storage. The tip got snapped during a "survival" evenr where I needed to repair something on the fly, and used it as screwdriver. I plan to sharpen it out. I need to know if this possiple with a regular whet stone. I also need to know what tools to get to insert the new pivots. I've usually just bought cheap junk and replaced it when needed. However, my use of these knives is a bit more mature now a days. Thanks.
That's not even dirty, mine is so dirrty that I can't even open it and what are the chances it won't rsut? I tried cleaning one of my knife within a week it started catching rust
Why is this so sastifying to watch a person clean a knife also knives are so cool

Good job as always 👍🏻☝️😀
Thanks 👍
Would it have been easier/better to lube the washers pre-assembly?
Why not add lube to the pivot when the knife was apart ?
Its a knife….
@@farstadoscar3150 and?
@@brandonrides that pin does not have 3000 rpm? plus its new so why bother.

Hi Holly,Luv you!!! 🍓
Biggest thing I learned from this is that some knives have Warranty?!
And that's saying something because I didn't know how to clean a knife before.
Nice
What knife is that?
Wait… a chic that knows how to maintenance and clean a knife? 😳
Um… I think I’m in love.
Awesome video, what type of knife is this?
What kind of knife is that? Or what brand
Crkt squid

222 Threadlocker only. Anything else you will never get your knife apart again. Not all threadlockers/ Loctite formulations are the same! 😊
Flitz knife care pack!
use soap and water
Geeesh
Ultrasonic cleaners do a very good job, much quicker and more easily.
The knife seemed so small in other videos, this is either a different knife, or ur hands are smol
This something from red dead redemption 2
Is it just me or does it look a lot like a kershaw cryo
Her squid looks really big
I thought that too 🤣
