I think the most important sentence of this whole video is “and you’re at the level that you actually need to use it” great content here. Got my subscribe
I'm just a hobbyist who's wanted to work with wood for many, many years. I'm also someone who dislikes having to clean up heaps of dust and chips. I know, probably not the best fit. I'd do some projects and get turned off by the constant cleaning up. House to clean. Yard to clean. Workshop to clean. You get the idea. Festool's dust collection as a design priority has made woodworking really enjoyable for me.
I love hearing this! Anything that makes life and work enjoyable is worth just about any amount of money! Thanks for sharing and taking the time to watch!
Festool has definitely been worth it for me. I have a ct midi I vac, ts 55 f, ets ec 150/5 and rts 400. Zero regrets. I love how well the system works together. One day I'll have a domino again, but I'm not quite up to that level of necessity just yet. About the plug wearing out, I use a short 2' extension cord kept semi-permanently plugged into the outlet and just plug the tools into that. I have it zip tied to the hose garage for strain relief so there's no wear on the outlet at all.
Tools are worth it to the owner that uses them. IF a tool assists with making a job easier to complete then the tool is worth it. There are tons of tools on the market that are junk, but they will get the job done in a pinch. There are many over priced tools that fail just as the cheaper tools do. To me my Festool owned tools are worth it to me. I also still own a Skil worm drive and I still own my very first owned Circular Saw made by Craftsman I purchased in 1990 I still works, but I sits on display as the first tool that made me money along with a Skil hammer/Chisel 1/2 Drill. I have 9 routers and one of those is a Festool. I love my Festool track saw and 48 dust extractor With Cyclone. I prefer my DF 500 over my professional Porter Cable Biscuit jointer. I still use the biscuit jointer at times. I have Milwaukee power tools some 20 plus years old, Dewalt, Porter Cable, Bosch, Makita I even have a 20 year old Shop Vac that I use for clean up in the house when I do projects in the house. My Festool Extractor stays with my MFT and Track Saw and Domino and My Kreg Foreman. I really like the Festool Sanders I just wish the cost were not so high.
Absolutely! Very well put and I agree completely. I have tools from a variety of different brands that I love for different reasons. I even have tools of sentimental value, passed down from family members that I use as much as possible. Thanks so much for taking the time to watch and comment!
Ah yes - the broken hose garage :-)) broke mine too - easy replaceable though. Im sort of surprised going to a jobsite and seeing an old festool vac where the top isnt completely fubar ... only bad thing though about the festool vacs... if your hauling around systainers on top of it its a no brainer ...
I'm glad to know I'm not alone! I always see pictures and videos of such perfectly clean and unscathed tools and I always feel like I must be a caveman or something haha. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment!
If you enjoy the tool then it’s worth it. If you are a pro that uses it daily it’s definitely worth it. I justify a new Festool by considering how much I’d pay someone else to do the same job. Then it doesn’t seem so expensive 😂
This is a great way to look at it! Ha I think anything that brings joy is worth it! Thanks for taking the time to watch and I hope you can keep finding "excuses" to buy new tools!
I have to agree with you on plastic fest that Festool is. I owe a number if their products & It has always bother me that you are spending that much & not getting premium materials ( the innards as well, see AVE video). Festool might say that it’s to lighten them but I own Mafell products & they look the part of quality as well as in function & the weights are on par. Festool’s other selling point is their tightly integrated ecosystem. It’s definitely a plus!! I have to disagree with you that you don’t need Festool & their prices if you are an occasional woodworker or a home DIY. It’s where I am right now. You couple that with not being very mechanically inclined & it’s incumbent on me to buy the best I can afford bc inexpensive, cheaply made tools might work in the hands of a professional with lots of practice or a workworking savant but they just frustrate clumsy ‘’ol me.
I watched a repair You Tube video ( Ireland ) of a Mafell plunge saw . The components inside were cheap rubbish . Even the repairer was shocked to see such at the price point . But more to the point , it's the reason why it failed . Just because something has a metal casting case , makes no difference to the electronics . That's the scam of upmarket HiFi too .

@@schoonercreekdesigns You're welcome! And, great video on your experience with the tools.

How much are they paying you?
Haha I wish I was getting paid! That would be awesome! To bad I'm about 995,000 subscribers short of getting any kind of endorsement from festool!

@@schoonercreekdesigns I’m pretty sure I will find as many excuses as it takes to have the whole Festool lineup lol
that is not called the RO 125. RO stands for Rotex not random orbit. But I'm sure you know that and just misspoke
Your totally right. I corrected myself later in the video! Still getting the hang of talking on camera... Thanks for taking the time to watch!

Festool tools are systemized. No other tools are....
exactly. Did you know you can't even hook a Dewalt shop vac directly into a Dewalt tablesaw how dumb is that.
