- In this video we go explore an abandoned mansion in the backcountry of Arizona. The Gold Mine Mansion was built in 1929. It was a short lived mining operation in the Hualapai Mountains near Kingman, Arizona. Come check it out with us!
Thank You For Being Here.
*My name is Brian. I started living full time in a self built camper van in 2014 in my hometown of San Diego, CA. I hit the road full-time in 2015 to pursue seasonal work and travel around the U.S. I find free camping on public land and enjoy photography, hiking, biking, and kayaking in nature. Join me on my adventures.
Thanks for watching!

I’m always amazed when something so elaborate is in the middle of nowhere, awesome! Thanks for sharing Brian☮️
Great video of your unique find.
Very cool exploring the old building. I wonder how they got all the building materials up in such a remote area back in the day.
Brian. Good to see you still rolling and resting.
Nice video
I actually stayed the night in there by myself it's on my channel from 4 years ago! Awesome thanks for going
I'm too much of a coward to do that but really want to check out your video. I've seen some really strange things in the Az nighttime desert sky!
@@pamelajohnson7813 I see strange things in the So Cal city sky, I can only imagine what you see!!
I would love to go here
It be interesting to see how they got down into that mine and bring out what u found. It appears theirs nuthin left of what way they got in.
Van Dude was here.
What were the temperatures when you were there?
What a great video! That mansion is awesome. Thanks Brian and Kelly.
❤
Love these more frequent videos Brian! Keep up the great work!
That was an interesting find. Loved the drone views of the terrain around the structure. Adventure on🤗✌️
You could have made it to the mansion on the KTM's. I rode my Suzuki DR650 back there a few years ago. Cool old place looks about the same, which is good.
Awesome! Overland Expo....will you be there?? Timmy C Arizona
no, not really my jam.
It’s nice how the middle of nowhere is also the middle of somewhere. Thanks for the cool video.
9:09 BUD LIGHT? Maybe Dylan Mulvaney was there?
Hi 🙋🏿♀️
Cool. Looks like you guys have this thing figured out. Mix in these interesting little side trips for adventure, living the good life as a nomad. Nice video Brian.
I tells ya Moe, it's haunted !
Thanks for sharing.
Interesting site, thanks for sharing.
Brian and Kelly, you continue to educate and entertain... thanks!
Hi Brian and Kelly
Shelley: "... Round the decay
Of that colossal Wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away.”
Out of everything to take from this video, the sound of running water was the most pleasing to me. Thanks! Do y'all ever make it down to Ft. Huachuca?
What a awesome find! Beautiful area! Thanks for sharing my friends I've yet to meet 😎 ✌️
This is so cool to me. My dad was a teenager in '29, and he and my gramps worked in mines in AZ to supplement the family's income (homesteading near Blythe). Might've worked right there!
Thanks for all your videos, Brian! Peace.
Interesting tour of the mansion it must’ve been a pretty self sustaining operation back in the 20’s and 30’s U 2 are such a cute couple thanks for taking us along my friends ☮️❤️
We made that trip in a side-by-side ATV from the other side of the mountain and came out here heading back the way you came in. It was epic, but it took hours and hours. I'm glad we did it, but I would not want to do it again.
My friend and I went up there on horseback looking for the mansion but never found it. However, we did find a couple of rattlesnakes on the narrow path going back down.🐍
Great video Brian, I love those old mines and imagine what it was like living and working there.
Heck ya 1 one here lol what a cool place Brian and Kelly thank you for sharing, big hugs from MN
That's pretty cool! What a neat home/project that would be! I love seeing potential or imagining what it's original build really looked like. What a fun adventure Brian & Kelly. Carry on!!!! 😀
Fun to just imagine what the inside looked like in its hey day. Thanks for sharing. Love seeing the bond you two share. ❤
Maybe do some gold panning in the creek. That is likely how they found the location for the hard rock mine.
The thing about the SW is there is history around every corner. You can be standing in places its almost invisible and unapparent. Its like a very large jigsaw puzzle. Ive dat in shalloe caves to rest and in playing around in the dirt found arrow heads, pottery, old shell casings, bridles, tools, coins... Ive come across ruins not on maps, mines, haciendas, corrals, wagons. Itscwhat western history was composed of and makes exploring fun and educational.
I hate autodecorrect.
I've been there a couple of times. There is a back way there that is much easier. It is a longer ride but a very nice ride.
Thank you for a fun video
great job
Hey Brian..very cool spot 👍 Just before you got off the bikes..I was thinking man that's rough riding !
A 2.5 year "seasonal" assignment concluded today. Please, do not mourn the loss. I only survived those 2.5 seasons by watching AdventureVanMan videos.
I am always happy to see you put out another awesome video. I feal like I'm right there with you and Kelly. I didn't know lizards can give you the side eye 😂😂 May God bless 🙏✌️🌎💞
Very cool! Thanks for sharing!
I truly enjoyed this. Thank you both for making this possible. Be safe.
Looks like a fixer-upper. Is it for sale? 😅
Be careful watch where you step but does look like a really interesting place
The official beer of litter bugs everywhere.
This is so cool. Amazing what you find in the desert.
Would make a great base camp for when one goes exploring the surrounds,a good way to spend a few days I reacon.
Great video,keep them coming,ok.
What a cool place!! Thanks for the tour. Hope to get out there and see it.
Nice video thx for sharing 😀
Great video
Looks like a great day of exploring. Thanks for taking us along.
So many neat things are hidden in the desert! Thanks for sharing..............
Pretty cool mine and mansion. They may have mined and made the concrete from the rock tailings to build their home. That glass bottle was thick. What year was that built.? You guys be safe take care.
Awesome video Brian and Kelly. Enjoyed the Beautiful scenery.
Looks like a great place to dig😮
BACK IN TIME,AMAZING HOW THEY BULT THAT WITH CONCRETE. HAD TO HAUL EVERY THING IN.
Cool spot. When you showed the ornate wood work it reminded me of the shipwreck Chisholm up at Isle Royale. It was a wood ship that I think sunk in the late 1800's. Most of it is gone but the attraction is the big metal steam engine. Just amazing the ornate work on a steam engine that would sit in the belly of the ship. Also don't know how the heck they did it but it is beautiful. Similar engine is in Duluth at Canal Park.
Great video! What a cool place!
Outstanding Thanks
Thank you for the adventure. 👍🫶🙏
😊👍☮
Oh, it is remarkable. Felt as though I myself have made it to the spot. Your video has a tremendous transportation effect. Appreciate your guts because in such remote abandoned structures, a lot of things could surprise or shock the visitors. Really love your presentation 👍
Very interesting!!
Thanks for sharing ❤
What a cool video!🎉
I was gonna ask.... Did ya drop the bikes a couple times? Lol.. I have been in the same stuff with a big DR650.. You mentioned at the end.. Very cool!!✌😎
What kind of drop in stove do you have mounted in your counter?
Dometic, I like it but it does not work over 7,000 feet elevation.
Good one.thanks
Hey bud haven't seen any of your stuff on UA-cam Hope all is well.
Happy 4th. of July 🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
My ex father in law built a concrete house . In 97 an E-5 tornado hit his house saved his family . Plus it was cooler than a regular house . The anniversary of that tornado is May 27th
Great video
Thanks, Bro ✌
I spent winter of 2022 in Bullhead City, mooch docking in my cousin's driveway. Decided to commit to tax season for JH. On my days off, I'd head to Kingman to escape the heat. Way more options too.
Mansion?
What's Up Kelly.... I'd like to view your channel....
Thank you both for another great and entertaining video.
Neat!...
Not to be pedantic to some of the commenters here, but the biome here is not desert, but (interior) chaparral, similar to the southern California coast. Rainfall averages around 20 inches yearly.
I really enjoyed this journey into history ; the geology , fauna , and flora you included. Thank you and much appreciated .
Wow, that's my backyard. Just moved to Kingman.
Next time you're in the area of the mansion You should check out hole in the wall. It's another mine site off the same road were they Doug a 20' tunnel 50' through a mountain to Divert water away from a mind site. And on the front side of that big mountain there's another mine called the Brianna That used to be the number one producer of tungsten steel during World War 1 pretty interesting area
Very interesting history! Thanks for sharing this!
Imagine, how it used to look back in the day.
In Europe, this house would be made a homestead..
So cool getting a walkthrough of this location✌️
Just to give you an idea how hard mining was even high grade ore only yielded 8 to 10 grams of gold per ton. The value of gold today could make it worthwhile to go through all those tailings if you could get the equipment up there to do it.
I was hoping to see you guys get out there! I've seen a few Jeep Club videos of this location & it looks like a popular destination for local Jeepers (or other 4 wheelers). Moss Wash OHV Trail to Gold King Mansion & Gold King Mine. It's rated Black Diamond (Difficult) but didn't look too bad! North of Kingman, 18 miles, off 93 is Chloride & Chloride Mines rated moderate.
I always wanted to go there, never got around to exploring that area, I appreciate your video, you saved me a rough ride to that area. Thank you
much!!
Last time I saw one of your videos you were carving a spoon out of wood. But found your channel again. And subscribed to it. Always good videos.
Neat find n erythema also
Little scary but neat also
I’m not going anywhere near the desert in warmer weather for fear of rattlesnakes. But that’s a cool place to live if you don’t have to work for a living or get paid to do videos which is honorable work.
How cool is that. Beautiful scenery. I can imagine living there back then
Fascinating. Has a distinctive Spanish flavour, arched doors, flat roof.
Hi there great video thanks for the tour of the house. I bet you and kelly were pretty hungry when you got back to camp?
That place must have been amazing and it's time! I wish I could have seen it then, what it looked like. Totally enjoyed this. Please be careful you guys and stay safe. I look forward to every one of your videos and just am thrilled when I see that you've uploaded a new one. God bless❤
Wow, Super Cool! Thanks for sharing! Be safe & well
Thanks for your videos! happy trails to y'all!
With the holes in the info board I'd offer that as evidence that guns shouldn't be issued to everyone as some don't know what to shoot at.
That thick bottle is a 1970's sparklets water bottle..
Why dont you take possession of it, fix it up & live in it like a king?
!
Very cool! What a fun adventure!
