Well said, and I agree that the fear of abandonment theme was a big factor in the disorienting atmosphere being the point. Plus it gave Ruby some much needed development, showing us what she's like and how she reacts when put in such a challenging situation without the Doctor's help
A lot of people expressed concern that Ruby was giving them Clara vibes. Clara feels more like she is about plot driven stories, where as Ruby it is character driven story telling. Personally I find Ruby way more sympathetic and relatable, and this episode probably shows it the best.
What did you think of 73 Yards, do you have a different interpretation?
I swear I literally checked if you uploaded a video on this yet just last night.
Hope you like it
Good analysis of an episode which I enjoyed up until the last 2 minutes
Thanks, the ending is probably the weakest part for me, but as I say, not sure there was any better way to conclude it
@@MidnightChimey Maybe by adding SOME answers instead of none at all? 😉
@@MatthewCaunsfield Again though, the ambiguity I feel is kind of the point with this one
@@MidnightChimey True, but it doesn't stop it feeling like a half finished script IMO

Was probably the strongest episode for Ruby given that her character has been not that well defined over the course of the series

The Clara vibes mainly come from how Ruby is introduced with a whole mystery box surrounding her, plus she is a bit bland as a character
I couldn't agree more. I love the sheer ambiguity of 73 Yards, and find myself despairing at the literal-mindeness of some Doctor Who commenters.
I've seen a lot of CinemaSins esque critique of this episode, harsh as that may be to say
