There is an Egyptian god named "Heh", the god of eternity or infinity. There is also a female version, "Hauhet". They existed before the creation of the world, when all was chaos. The ancient Egyptians consider the time before creation as chaos. oh, also, "heh" is the ancient Egyptian word for that chaos, normally translated as "flood"...
would be cool for the Osirans to play a role in series 2
I thought you were going to say the female version was "hehe"
I am "Meh", the God of Indifference... ;-P
Heh.
@@thatqwertydude2901 Fun fact: in ancient Egyptian, female nouns/names always end with a "t". Even the famous Isis, wife of Osiris, was originally called "Ist" (or something similar).
I think that Mrs Flood is Ellie in disguise.

You'll blow her cover!

literally a comment.
Just because Sutekh "waited" doesn't necessarily mean he was THE one who waits.
Remember, "he will knock 4 times!"?
How many people knocked 4 times before Wilf did?
lots of people knocked 3, or two and two.. Wilf was the only one to knock 4 times in a row
Ah, but remember we has Mrs Flood saying "He waits no more..."
@@MarkOfTzeentch The Master drim rhtyhm was 4 beats.
I feel like the mystery surrounding Ruby's mother was a misdirect created by Mrs Flood. We have all the things happening, yet Louise turns out to be an ordinary person. The Doctor's eyes have been looking at the wrong person. Mrs Flood plots, never even being suspected. A genius move.
I hope so cause all of this for her to be ordinary really pissed me off. Like we just gonna make Ruby a basic person. No! I won't have it! There has to be more.
There is a page about Mars in my Doctor Who guide book that lists all previous inhabitants and major villains. In the same paragraph it mentions Sutekh reigning supreme until he is stopped, at which point "The Flood" steps in. Shocking coincidence.
that was 2047 if I remember correctly. Now what could have happened the year before I wonder? Oh right, 73 yards. another thing in 2047 if my memory serves right was the destruction of moon. I think there were a couple other episodes set in that year as well. It always leads back, been theorizing about it for years, but I think it's just a cool number
@@justarandomguy2424 wow good catches! Didn't even think about any of those. I'm gonna have to rewatch some episodes!
@@justarandomguy2424there is a running 47 in joke especially in sci fi shows, so not surprised a '47 year is a focal point in Who
LOVE IT
That would be the Flood from "The Waters of Mars". Maybe there's a connection there?
I think the static squiggles on a digital clock mean it's CGI and they know exactly what time is displayed. It is pretty amazing how many companion outfits Mrs. Flood has.
Exactly, the break up of the radio display is clearly CGI. Now fair enough the audio would break up in to digital mush as anybody who has listened to DAB is almost certainly familiar with, they knew exactly what was in that shot. Out of interest, what song was playing on Radio 1? Was it just a favourite of the effects department or could it have greater meaning? I now listen to Greatest Hits Radio and have no idea what is in the hit parade or 1FM playlist.
My only issue with any of this the fact that Mrs. Flood was dusted like everyone else. I don't think one of the Pantheon would be as vulnerable as any normal person.
But I can also fix my issue: She's somehow been locked in Human form, and that's a big part of the ongoing mystery.
Rampant wild speculation has long been my favorite. Thanks, guys.
who gets lockd in human form? time lords. And ladies.
floods come from the Sea... Miss Sea.
Soi i stay the course and keep thinking she is Missy. She spoke the way missy did when she was introduced
The physical body gets dusted but as a god I assume they would or could transcend that anyway.
The counter argument is "Even stories end." I don't like this series going against gods because the Doctor, for all his intelligence and wit, is still mortal and the ways he's beaten these gods has been rather cheesy thus far. I hate Mrs. Flood breaking the 4th Wall - I hope it turns out that she's actually addressing someone we can't see, perhaps some of her other brethern. If she is the God of Stories then I hope it does tie into The Mind Robber. That was an underrated classic.
There's also, of course, the flicker/distortion visible on the display for those two closeups of the clock.
To quote the doctor “there’s no such thing as a coincidence”
"Never ignore a coincidence, unless you're busy. In which case, always ignore a coincidence!"
But what is coincidence but a form of accident ?
Just bring carol ann ford back already in time for 15 to watch her regenerate and they go travel together now that the time war is over Alex is dead and “ all her friends are gone “ it’s sad not to include Susan 60 years on imho , as to Mrs flood rani ?? She’s disguised as an old “ grandma “ woman in the mark of the rani so whooooo knows 😊 but we’ll see why we have to wait a year I’ll never understand
However, this is clearly a coincidence.
I'd say she's River Song. The "Flood" -> "River" name connection, the fact that she's married, her calling the Doctor "Clever Boy", the Darillium sticker on her suitcase, the way she says she's "hiding herself away" like the Doctor says Time Lords do, the lingering question of what happened to her post-Forest of the Dead now that we know genetically pure Time Lords don't have a regeneration limit... too much evidence to ignore!!!
Flood = water
River = water
Rain = water
R A I N can be rescrambled into RANI. So, obviously, Mrs. Flood is Romana.
? The Rani and Romana are two different people.
@@SomeUniqueHandle this comment was me being super sarcastic
So perhaps the line from the end of the Christmas special was literal? "Have you never seen a Tardis before". Mrs Flood is the Tardis in human form hence the constant references to past companions in clothing.
Yup! You got it!
@@jeffreytempleton3213 The Tardis is fully sentient. Check out "Wife of the Doctor" or when the Doctor explains they have to negotiate with the Tardis.
Or when it tries to fight back against the Master when he takes over the Doctors body.
Interesting clue!
Much as there are people I'd like her to be, Mrs Flood didn’t recognise the TARDIS as such until it dematerialised .. so she is not anyone who has seen THIS TARDIS before.
I keep saying this! She's clearly familiar with TARDIS's as 'things' but only recognises The Doctors one once she's seen it materialise.......
@@carolineskipper6976 Keep in mind that the Doctor's Tardis Split in two!
Well, assuming she was already this character before that, and didn't get inhabited by whomever this is partway through that episode.
Or... And hear me out, the recognition with the dropped bags was for OUR benefit, to entertain us. She is the drama god after all.
@@lockskelington314 But both TARDISs look the same. Both have the chameleon circuit stuck on '1950's Earth UK Police Box.
I seem to remember that the Doctor also winked at the camera, possibly in one of the first episodes this season.
You're right. He did.
He also had the joke in The Devil's Chord about thinking the music was non-diegetic, implying that he always hears the background music of the show
All I can say is that I think Mrs Flood is amazing. The mystery of who she might be is the icing on the cake, because Anita Dobson is simply fabulous!
Flood = River = Pond - brings in companion references, and 'clever boy' is very River.
Stories - libraries (a land of fiction, and where River is living digitally) - books - spoilers (if she knows how the stories ends).
I expect this to connect back to the library & Dr Moon - closing that story loop. Just as 10 came back to close his emotional loop.
I have a feeling Season 1 is only a glimpse of this story. I think Russell is playing an insane slowburn concerning Ruby, Mavity and Mrs. Flood. I know it could just be wishful thinking, but Russell might have a huge plan in place.
Mrs. Flood being the god of stories makes sense. It also makes sense that in regard to Sutekh as she might not be able to interfere with Sutekh because she cannot oppose him. Mrs. Floods' statement made it sound more like she was going to storm the gates of heaven and overthrow the god of the universe.
I do not think that she is the god of time. If she was then I think that she would have been able to defeat Sutekh or keep herself from being affected by Sutekh's death wave. When it comes to a matter of power then I do not think that even Death can stand against Time. Death needs time to function.
My theory is that Mrs Flood herself was an ordinary person before being taken over by one of the Pantheon. Before her final scene on Church on Ruby Road, she behaves like an ordinary person threw out her appearances in the Special. Then when the Doctor fixed the goblins time alteration and returned to the true time line, Mrs Flood seemed to have changed in personality. Perhaps a member of the Pantheon became aware of the time alliteration and escaped it's realm by possessing Mrs Flood.
I suppose if she is the god of storytelling it would make the inconsistences in the Ruby's mum mystery make more sense as it would probably be that she made the story more dramatic for effect. She must have some connection to Ruby as why would she live there for so long as it seems she is well known by the street.
I am still thinking Mrs. Flood is somehow connected to Amy Pond and River Song. Pond, River, Flood, seems pretty on the nose in my opinion. Davies did create River with Moffat writing her into stories. Both have worked on 15's stories too.
She could be River Song and the Doctor's child. 15 being a father has been a theme during this season.
Moffat came up with River Song. She was just introduced in the Davies era. But I do think Mrs Flood could link to the Ponds and River maybe :)
And the doctor mentioned he had a granddaughter but didn't have kids yet so maybe there is a connection there it would make sense with Susan being brought up constantly the doctor seems to have never meet his kids and meet his granddaughter before even knowing he had kids
Moffat created River, they already knew during her introduction that Moffat was replacing Davies at least behind the scenes, so Davies gave him full control even in casting the character.
The "snow" that appeared throughout the series but which was never explained might be linked to Mrs Flood up on the roof, in white, in the snow, with a white umbrella.... and a Christmas Episode on the horizon? I doubt she's "writing" the story, as she did get killed by Sutekh! Personally, I reckon this entire series has been set in a snow globe, with someone watching.... and Mrs Flood knows who.
Seeing Mrs Flood on the roof top, at the end of the series gave the image of Mary Poppins.
"I made a jigsaw of your life" - the toymaker said.
Mrs Flood referencing and piecing together the Doctor's life to tell his story? like a jigsaw. Is she using the jigsaw?
As to Mrs. Flood being Clara, that would explain why she's knows how it's gonna end for the Doctor. As I remember it Clara inserted herself in all of the doctors timelines... or something like that. So she would have seen a lot of things, maybe also how it ends.
The state of Clara should stop her from aging, she could never look different that how we saw her in her last appearance. And she inserted herself at one moment to travel back, not to the future.
Clara inserted herself at trensalore - where the Dr was set to die after 11 and went into every moment from his birth to trensalore. When the time lords grant him extra regenerations that timeline shifts and Clara never entered any moment after trensalore in the doctors timeline.
We don't know what happened to Clara after she left. So to say the aging thing can easy be written off @@MarkGM1985
@@estherholt8060no, if the Dr has infinite regeneration this process does not count, after trendalor they gave back his regenerations if this was alwayseant to be his invite timeline is always part of that.
@@MikeyBoi1984 I think rewatch s7b it's pretty well laid out that the extra regenerations in the eleventh hour were a shift and the drs gave at trensalore no longer exists.
The Mind Robber was a Tales of the Tardis episode too, and a lot of those have ended up being linked to modern who like Pyramids of Mars, Earthshock and Curse of Fenric
Random thought and probably totally wrong: if Mrs Flood is a Narrator, then what if she isn't a god, but is Rassilon - similar to Timothy Dalton's Rassilon in The End of Time. Rassilon has definitely seen a TARDIS before, and would know a lot about The Doctor's life enough to mimic previous companions.
Dalton was initially credited as "The Narrator", too
God of stories. She's Loki 😱😱😱🤣🤣🤣
I love fan theories and pretty much every single one is more thought out than what the show normally gives us.
100%
Maybe so... but given those hypotheses are all based on what we've been given - they're potentially just as flawed?
In the flux finale didn’t the doctor meet time itself? So why would they put a god in to control that rampant force?
Perhaps you answered your own question there... to keep it under control.
Maybe Mrs. Flood is that same character.
@@mattmahoney8659It was a shapeshifter, so that's perfectly possible.
I thought about it for a bit . On second thought they wouldn’t really need a god becuese time is itself one but the first comment is equally right too.
What might interfere with this god of time thing is that during 13's era we were told that Time itself also is some form of entity(and locked in eternal battle with space or smth like that).
If she is the god of time then could we possibly be seeing Kronos from the Jon Pertwee story The Time Monster? Or could that even be her? Kronos was a woman in that story. Fun fact about The Time Monster. One of the characters was supposed to have a cat but every time Delgado was in a scene with the cat it would hiss at him. So they had to fire the cat for not being friendly. If you watch the story on DVD/Blu-ray with the Info Text turned on you can find all sorts of stuff about the show.
(Spoilers! lol) I'm going through the iPlayer episodes at the moment - that's the one I just reached.
What if Mrs. flood is the human version of the memory tardis and that is why she is wearing different companion costumes and when she says 'never seen a tardis before' she is talking about herself.
Got to remember at the very first time we met Mrs Flood, she didn’t recognise the tardis. It was only later on in the episode where she recognised it, makes me think something major has happened during that story. Something like Mrs flood being replaced
Or possessed? For a while, I honestly thought the soul of the tardis had entered her as a way to escape Sutekh, I was wrong on that, but someone else could have slipped in...
I was going to write exactly the same.
@@TheCagedCorvid yeah exactly my thinking
Mine too.
Yes, she is different in the later episodes
"God of stories", nice theory.
However, my favorite is that she's a Time Lord, but which Gallifreyan? The Master? The Doctor (No, I don't think so.), The Monk, Omega, The Dream Doctor, Castellan Spandrell, Morbius, Chancellor Goth, The Rani, The Inquisitor, Tecteun? The Doctors Mum? Someone else we haven't met yet?
I appreciate that Davies and Moffett enjoy the fans guesses, and can still surprise us.
As always, thank you all so very much for the video.
Could Mrs. Flood be Carla Oswald? Might she be Ashildr? (Probably not, but it's fun to speculate.) (I've previously guessed Susan, and Melody Pond.)
I’m convinced they’re bringing The Rani back. The Rani loves disguises. The fact they brought Mel back was my immediate thought, as Rani once disguised herself as Mel. Rani also seems to love makeup and being sneaky with her plots. If she wanted to get close to the Doctor, he would never suspect her till she finally revealed herself.
There have been a few moments in this series where I think it is hinted that continuity is breaking down - like you touched on with the clock, and wow I did not notice that in my watching at the time. And I don't read it as being by accident. Like how in the second episode I think there was a fairly throw away line when Doctor says to Ruby something like "This has been what? Six months for you". That's not a line that makes the cut by mistake. And it can be edited out if there's a reshuffles of episodes after filming
this. whoculuture even mentioned things could have been taken out of order in a criticism of how little bonding time had been between the doctor and ruby but they were acting like bffs. I think they specifically mentioned they thought it could be episodes were slipping order chronologically on purpose.
Ok, but why didn't she know at first? Misses Flood had no clue what the Tardis was until The Doctor went back to save baby Ruby, then suddenly she was like this, knowing things, breaking the 4th wall, etc, ya know? So what changed? I'm super down for her being a Clara, she lept into his timestream, as he said, "even the days I (he) hasn't lived yet", so hypothetically there should be just as many Clara's as there were Susan Triad's, if not significantly more, since A, timeless child, and B, Sutekh was only from Baker to Ncuti, Clara's the whole timeline, right? But something definitely changed between the beginning of Church on Ruby Road and The Doctor going back to save baby Ruby, so how could it be a Clara, if it was a Clara, she wouldn't know The Doctor, would've met him, got caught up in some bs, and probably die saving 15, it just doesn't add up to Misses Flood, so my bet is, as cool and possible as it would be, she's not a Clara.
To me, the answer to the question of who Mrs. Flood is was obvious right from the start. There is one other person with such intimate knowledge about the Doctor and his Tardis, and Mrs. Flood's name pretty much is a dead ringer, although admittedly, it would be a case of "Mr. Davies, you've got some 'splainin' to do".
Let's call her the Lady of Time.
Let's not forget that Russel T. Davies is a master in writing plot devices that seem like misdirects at first but turn out to be red herrings all along afterwards.
I feel like I've said this a few times now but Maestro definitely refers to a being called Temporal as something of a renegade god
I was hoping you would show the first time we meet Mrs. Flood and she DOESNT know what the Tardis is. I'm wondering if she got replaced by something.
Flood - hydroelectric power - electrical watts - Angie Watts!
You've been reading Russell's dream diary again, haven't you..... HAVEN'T YOU!! 😮
15’s final episode should be named “absolute terror”
If she is the god of stories - and specifically the Doctor's story - it would make a lot of sense for their appearance to take the form of the amalgamation of the Doctor's companions
In terms of sci-fi breaking the 4th wall and doing it well, I'd fully recommend the Red Dwarf 2009 story 'Back To Earth'.
However, I'm not sure it works for Doctor Who
Peter did that.
@@badfairy9554In e.g. 'In Under The Lake' and 'Before the Flood'. Bootstrap Paradox! I wonder...
@@andrewwalker1496 love the bootstrap paradox.
One more thing about the God of Stories bit: the person in charge of the Land of Fiction was not credited as the God of Stories (because of course not, it was the 60s); but it might be worth noting that they were credited as The Master. Not “of stories” mind, just The Master.
And someone picked up that gold tooth….
Omg, I so missed the clocks thing! Thank you, again, Ellie for pointing out this detail. You have such a keen eye! I'm 100% sure this will have some meaning in the next season. Loving your videos! :)
I hope she doesn't turn out to be the God of Stories because Marvel just did that with Loki in Season 2 and I don't want people to see Doctor Who as "just copying Marvel" now......especially after everyone turned to dust and then "de-dusted" at the end of this season the same as Avengers.
Think you've hit the nail on the head with the god of time theory
agreed
Maybe, but is the god of time the same thing as the entity Time that was the thing the main villains of the previous season worshiped? They were trying to release Time from being partially imprisoned on the planet Time. The Doctor did speak to the entity Time and it made some vague statements about how the Doctors days or numbered or some such.
I like it the doctor may be the time lord but not the time god also that could be a way to retcon timeless child saying that she it the timeless child
Transuranic, heavy elements may not be used where there is life... Sapphire and Steele have been assigned
Wow! Was not expecting a Sapphire and Steele reference here!!!
@@JudithARobinson No relation.
Her line in Empire of Death, in regard to how she will storm the gates of gold against Sutekh, was interesting
What if Mrs. Flood is the God of companionship it would explain the clothing and the fourth wall breaking as if she is talking to us the other companions on the adventure?
To quote Rava (from Seinfeld) “There is no such thing as small coincidences and big coincidences”.
An (admittedly very flimsy) idea I had was that maybe Mrs flood is like the memory TARDIS. But instead of being a memory of the TARDIS she's a memory of every companion that ever was
THANKS for this!!!! The in-a-TV-show theory has been going around.
I like the God of Time idea.
I didn't start this theory but I believe it: Mrs. Flood is the White Guardian!!!
You are running with my drama god theory! I must have typed that theory all over UA-cam and Twitter a hundred times. It explained the 4th wall breaks perfectly! I thought no one heard it.
It would be amazing if in the end they reveal that Mr. Flood is in fact, a Whovian.
@@gabrielfrancisco7161 I have my doubts she would be a Whovian. You’d think the Doctor would’ve sensed something.
@@BloodyAngel88so there goes the Ellie-in-disguise theory?
Also, Rose complained that UNIT had her investigating shoplifting in Catford. If you steal something from Catford, a T maybe, you are left with C. A. Ford.
COINCIDENCE?? Almost definitely.
We have seen Time Incarnated as Jodie.
Your theory about the ultimate 4th wall break and meeting her maker reminded me of a famous Supernatural episode, where the antagonists are transported to a universe where they’re actors filming a show called Supernatural. Meta.
Mrs flood can’t be Clara because Clara can’t age. She’s stuck between her last heartbeat and death
Might sound crazy but what if she is river? As pond went to river, river could easily transfer to flood. What if her first name is carol or something? It would just make sense as well as she can and has moved through the doctors past and future
I think the direct fourth-wall-breaking is a shared trait of the Pantheon gods, at least as depicted in this era. Maestro in particular addresses the camera and plays the theme song on the piano. Toymaker also hams it up for the camera, with several shots of actions performed for nobody's benefit but the audience. Sutekh much less so, but his obsession with the season's mystery does place him a little outside the story. Toymaker and Sutekh also share a quirky control over screens and displays. So I do take Mrs. Flood's narration as indication she's one of the Gods, and not necessarily one related to storytelling specifically.
😵💫😵💫😵💫 Shivers up and down the spine
Mnemosyne, the Greek goddess of memory, is often referred to as the goddess of storytelling.
Wonderful video once again Miss. Ellie !
I can't shake the Mary Poppins vibe of her in that last scene. I know its reminiscent of Romana, but I half expected her to float off into the skyline with her feet pointed outward as she sang some cheery Disney like song.
Just remember also that Maestro also broke the fourth wall sometimes too.
ALSO... the hand that grabbed the toy maker's golden tooth. Came from the screen "from behind the camera" so could Mrs flood have been the one to grab that tooth? maybe she's the one tying it all together? The toymaker says about "the one who waits" that's someone else's game. What if he wasn't talking about it being Sutekh's game but Mrs floods?
"Not sure how they'd do that without being a bit cheesy"? Doctor Who being cheesy?
Never in a million years.
I still maintain that there's something up with her name. Ms Flood ---> River Song ----> Amy Pond.
Also, for those who mentioned 'The One Who Waits'... Amy Pond was literally called 'The Girl Who Waited'.
(I'm not saying that I ENJOY this theory but it checks the boxes far too well)
Mrs Flood's fourth wall breaking will link bank to the 1st Doctor breaking the fourth wall in the original christmas special
Plot twist - She regenerates next season, into Russell T Davies
Before that incarnation, she was Chuck, writing the Winchester gospel.
I think Mrs. Flood is Hecuba. She played games of time after all and if we're on it, it's on brand for bringing back classic villains.
She’s Grandpa Rick! Or Deadpool. They break the fourth wall all the time.
Talking about the supernatural, her being a story writer and maybe writing the story, all I can think of chuck/God from the tv series Supernatural lol
I am a little bit afraid that all of this is happening within the "Mavity" Universe, and there is the biggest Big Red Button coming that takes the entire first season with it.
I think Mrs Flood is a purely inconsequential character, after the "big reveals" of the first season
I really hope this isn't what he's doing... I don't think I could handle it again.
Man, I really hope that's not the case. It will be the end of modern who if they do that.
With a name like Flood, I assume a connection to River SONG AND Melody POND. And River also had a joking 4th wall with her references to spoilers
Dude I saw this theory that she’s Romana and now im gonna be devastated when I find out she isn’t 😢
I first thought it was Clara, now am thinking it's a combination of the companions, she has dressed in clothes that most of the companions have worn, Clara, Amy, Rory and even rose Tyler. I honestly think she is the essence of all the Dr companions. Given Clara went through the drs entire timeline she will know alot. The Drs timeline in infinite and she was within it all and the viewer only saw up to Matt smith Dr as to us that's how far we have gotten.
Why does mention of "The Land of Fiction" make me think Disney might stick some of their characters and stories in "Once Upon A Time" Style?
If it were brought back that is...
Be careful getting too attached Ellie. Remember what happened the last time The Doctor ended up facing Gods plural. Fenric, The Old Gods, (and the plan was to include Weyland and some other Gaelic/Celtic/Early Brit Gods).
"Somewhere there's danger, somewhere there's injustice, somewhere else the tea's getting cold! Come on Ace, we've got work to do."
I'm just remembering when everyone thought that 11 wearing his jacket again after taking it off in The Time of Angels/Flesh and Stone and how everyone thought it was a continuity error..... until The Big Bang airs and suddenly it all makes sense.
I know I'm not the first one to think of this or even bring it up, but yeah. That clock being so strange and so obvious? It's definitely gonna matter _at_ _some_ _point_
I would LOVE to Ms. FLOOD being related somehow to Amy POND or RIVER Song...her name being Ms. Flood but not having anything with water and having something to do with knowing things, keeping everything a secret until the time comes and referencing many things about The Doctor (specially the "TARDIS-blue" door) is SO in-character for River...but Ms. Flood feels very very evil, so I really don´t know how River could be evil or anything like that...
The Mind Robber is my all time favorite Doctor Who episode, and it would be so great if Russel went back to it. I want to see what he would do with a concept like that!!
I think you got it right when you said Mrs. Flood was referring to Russell as Cherry's maker. Of course he would do the most cheesy thing you can imagine. 😂😂
Spoilers sweetie Mrs Flood is married. She’s married to the doctor. It is River song, rivers flood. The gods are controlled by the master who has yet to return, he has master has also been referenced.
All of you, did alot of work ❤❤❤❤
Mrs. Flood responds to us the ancient ones, like the cabin in the woods, and the line about how she had such plans, makes me think that this is something that one of the fates would say. Or its Russel's manifestation in the show, pleasing the ancient ones us. Good job darlings, hello from America...
Mrs Flood could also be a return of Kronos the "chronovore", a creature from outside time that feeds on it featured in the 3rd Doctor episodes Time Monster. That might explain time seeming to slow - it was actually being consumed/shortened around her.
I love this theory about the the god of stories. I mean she lived beside Ruby and now that her story is finished she's packed her case and is leaving. Bet she'll be living beside our next companion in the next series.
I agree about the concerns with fourth wall breaks, done well, (Deadpool), they can elevate a story, done badly (She-Hulk, MCU), they become a farce.
Great video, thanks Ellie and Who Culture! 😊😊
I have a super out there pitch. Mrs Flood is the in universe version of Verity Lambert. In "Rememberance of the Daleks" it was lore dropped there is a science fiction show called "Doctor ____". Mrs Flood is a timelord, and created the in universe show "Doctor When" and we're going to see this being filmed at some point. Bonus points if Rowan Atkinson is playing Doctor When.
I didn't even recall Romana's outfit. I saw Mrs. Flood in all bright white and immediately thought "White Guardian"...
There's no way she's Clara. Clara is stuck in the moment before her death, did everyone forget that?
I think the mind robber idea is a good shout because why would they use that specific story for the second doctor in tales of the TARDIS unless they thought it was good for modern audiences to get familiar with it.
On a personal note, I would love for Flood to be some sort of god of story telling. One story idea I have always liked comes from the Spiderman cartoon from the 90s where Spiderman goes to an alternative reality(ours) and finds out he is created by Stan Lee. Imagine the doctor finding out someone else has purposely decided all the pain he has gone through is just for good story telling. Imagine 15 meeting Gatwa.
Wait what if she’s just Clara?! She has canonically seen every version of the doctor in every moment of his life. She has her own tardis and yeah she did have time basically stopped for her…but i don’t see it being outside the realm of some wibbly wobbly explanation. Man that would be so cool
I'm wrong on a lot of these, but Ms. Flood seems a lot like Ra, he is all knowing and he is the wisest and the oldest so this kind of goes into that direction for me.
Mrs. Flood is really Chameleon, resurrected by the Toymaker to follow the Doctor through all of time and space.
How is it not obvious that it’s The Master. She’s wearing a ring in that last scene probably the same ring that was picked up during the Christmas specials.
Because the Master isn’t known for 4th wall breaks rather as seen with Maestro members of the pantheon are and while he could have been lying RTD has said he has no intentions of bringing the Master back anytime soon especially not in season 1. While her identity hasn’t been revealed the Master in disguise would still be the Master. The ring, if it was the same one, would likely just be another nod to past outfits various characters have worn.
That was the toymakers gold tooth that contained the master. If that's who she is, how could she have been there to pick it up? She's probably gonna be instrumental in the masters return, but I don't think that's who she is.
What if the 4th wall breaks aren't really 4th wall breaks? What if Mrs. Flood is talking to someone and we just a camera angle that throws all of us off the scent?
