This Lantern Festival was shot in Florence AZ and put on by The Lights. Most of this video was shot at a 1.4 or 1.8 aperture using Sigma ART lenses on the Canon 1dx Mark 2 with ISO up between 1600 and 6400.... and yes, we flew a drone through the on-coming lanterns.

This is magic to some people, it brings out your emotions while you watch them go up into the air bcus you dedicated it to someone you love or lost and you pray while it's going up and you somehow feel at peace and hopeful.

Lighting up these lanterns is a tradition in my culture, where these lanterns are lighted up in the funeral of someone which is meant for the peace of the soul and i love this tradition. Your video is more touching to me for that reason and the video is really superb.

I love this, absolutly beautiful, but I can't stop and wonder, how is that cleaned up?
I had the same thought while watching this.
It doesn't, & it's dangerous :/ Check on Google there's so many complains on how it affects animals and can causes wildfires.
I also thought it was nice until I saw that it's not good for the environment. But I just discovered there's water lanterns which aren't dangerous & it gets cleaned, so I'm attending to that one!😁
Well some events make sure they're biodegradable lanterns and have an large area they see as the landing zone so they can pick up as many as possible
And at the same time the lantern will burn in the air so it landed on the earth surface ashes only
