Good video, but i humbly I disagree that going from 2.2 - 5 nm of torque is not enough. At 5nm, there is a world of difference compared to the gear driven system of the G series wheels. The difference is 1.6226 ft-lbs at 2.2nm & 3.688 ft-lbs at 5nm. Doubling the ft-lbs the wheel can dish out is not insignificant. While I do agree that 8nm is the ideal torque value for DD wheels at this level, 5nm should be more than enough for *anyone* coming from a belt/gear/hybrid Logitech system. Cheers ! If the clamp keeps moving then there ISN'T ENOUGH GRIP. Put a material over the clamp points so it doesn't move !! Honestly, I don't know why some of you are spending time on racing games... You clearly need more education in the common sense.
One thing not mentioned is compatibility, if you play driving games (not just realistic sims) like need for speed or older f1 games the wheel does not work games think that both pedals are pressed down by 50%
I ended up trying it in older titles it works for the most part, but the only way to get it working properly is too put the wheel into compatability mode and change the user settings within the game files. not plug and play for older titles.
@@BCGT_Mikee_Dredd How can it be the developer when they made the game the wheel did not exist and all wheels that existed at the time worked fine. the developer was not able to test the game with the wheel but fanatec certainly was able to and they never bothered. They need to give the drivers a mode to tell the game the pedal is at zero when not pressed not at zero when it's pressed half way down like they currently do.
Nice video; have been enjoying a GT DD Pro 6 months ago. Here are may takes: 1. Definitly 8nm are a must, but if you're able to find a 5nm base at a good price buy it and build your own PSU, I did that and work woith out issues; make sure to follow the instructions. 2. I use only the table clamp because I dont have space for a rig, but it need to be tightly secure to a stable table, else there will be wooble in it; BUT dont overdoit, there has been report of the table clamg failing when over tight in it. 3. I dont find the install of fanalb an issue, actualy I had the software ready to be installed when the wheel arrive. 4. Given that is a DD, the diferences in the FFB implementation in each game can be felt, so you need to uinderstand what all the tuning setting means; but as you said, FFB is a subjective matter; I like a strong FFB for inmersion, aliens like a weak feeling to be fast so ou must lear what each settings do and choose your own taste. 5. WHAT!!!! Hydraulic mod for the pedals??? I did that to my logitech gear and love it but allready bit the LC brake for my fanatec pedals (and mod it also). I would have love to do this to my brake pedal instead of the LC.
Yeah I saw some guy build the power supply for around 40 bucks, I don't trust myself enough to mess with that haha. That's very interesting to know I didn't even realize that was a thing, I know that when you overtighten it, It's likely to strip the metal piece it goes into. That must be with the DD pro for sure, there's been more than a few people who didn't know about it since they purchased the DD, sounds like they fixed that up with the DD pro! Exactly some people can fly with little to no FFB with no problem! Yeah I was looking online for some hydraulic pedals but they are crazy expensive, I looked up what type of hardware was required and I am in the process of getting the rest of it, it's a lot cheaper than buying actual hydraulic pedals. I am hoping that it will work with both the regular brake and the LC pedals as well, so instead of having that thick brick spring in the middle it'll be nice and smooth and you'll be able to adjust the pressure! ;
Beware! I own the new McLaren wheel, CSL DD and CSL load cell pedals. They feel great and took my new hobby to another level after owning a T300 belt drive (which wasn’t that bad). However the only FANATEC product I own that hasn’t failed is the DD wheel base. I love my FANATEC gear when it works. My only regret is not doing more research. Take a look at FANATEC’s own forum to see not only all the issues but the very poor customer service.
Yeah, I am thankful that mine has been working great so far I just got lucky! I hope that yours doesn't break either, the best solution would be to purchase the quick release system. I am just waiting on the V2 version of it!
Hello SimFin, I would like to know if the csl dd can be mounted on a metal rig plate mount by it's top instead of it's bottom ? Please reply. Thank you.
Hey Lenso Unfortunately there is no Top mounting Solution for this It would be nice if there was something out there that would add that capability. The only thing I could think of is if you were to mount this upside down in a rig you have. This could work for most titles as you would be able to adjust left and steer right to your liking but I think you wouldn't get as much feedback.
I bought mine on eBay from somone and it seems that I got an early version with a defect or something… mine has never been able to update one of the certain sections in the app and just bricks itself everytime I try and update so I’m stuck on an older version. The wheel seems to shake when I’m going in a straight line and goes out of control if I let go. Not sure if this is supposed to happen or not but it seems somewhat broke
There may be a way of updating it, you'll maybe have to do sequential updates one after the other, I had that problem with Logitech before. You can maybe try turning up or down the filter interpolation that could help!
@@runofthemillz that would likely decrease the wobble when you let go of the wheel, also depending on the sim you are running you could try decreasing the fore feedback FX worked for me in Rfactor 2
Without a mod, yourT-GT II has no FFB to do with pedals. Its just a wheel base called a Servo by itself. The T-LCM pedals have no form of FFB through the pedals at all. They're standard with a load-cell brake.
That is a good question I looked everywhere for your answer, I saw a post on the Fanatec Forums that you'll need a windows PC no matter what in order to update your wheel base. This is just for updating so you'll need to plug it into any pc. Once you have the settings you like you can save the settings and plug it back in on your console. Let me know if you need more info!
I’m also gaming on console only. Luckily, my brother has a relatively new laptop so I was able to update everything. But if you don’t have access to any computer, the WRC wheel has a seven segment display where you can change most settings.
i wouldnt even at the 350 on it hasnt even been in stock for months now the pro and mn one have come back in stock a few times i dont think they wanna sell the 350 one anymore

My brohter just purchsed the CSL DD I can confirm that the policy is still the same they gave him a year of warranty.
I wouldn't, even after all the research I've done. The reason is because the Fanatec ecosystem is so developed that it cannot compare. You can always upgrade and get your hands on other wheel types.
You can try looking on Ebay for one, I know a number of people who had success on the facebook marketplace as well. If you want a new one all you can do is wait at the moment.
Yeah there's really no mention of it on Fanatec's website, just make sure you download the version that works with your current drivers you'll likely have to scroll down a bit as some of their most recent releases only work with their beta drivers. There's a bunch of extra options in there from changing the LED's when your in the Pit to when yellow flags come up!
I'm hoping by the end of the year but most likely we will be seeing it in Q1 2023! I am hoping on getting it as soon as they release it I don't like their current one!

The solution worked for me you can unscrew the end of it so it doesn't take up the space when you're not racing! I wish It was permanent and didn't have to move it but it works great for the time being!
The best solution for the lack of space is to get modular aluminium, wood or iron, thus lengthening the legs of your bed approximately 1.5m, you will be able to have a good cockpit under your bed without having to disassemble it, and you will also maintain the same storage space. Your room. Most people are unaware of this method.
Your points make no sense... 1. It's called the GT DD Pro & the CSL DD. No need to put CSL before both, they're different models in looks & compatibility. 2. You make out the 5Nm & 8Nm are two different models when the difference is a power lead. You say to hold on if you can't get the 8nm model... Even if you order the 8Nm bundle, you get the 5Nm power lead too, the 8Nm power pack arrives in a different box... 🙄 3. You say the table clamp is useless as it sits too high 😂 That depends if your chair is too low or adjustable, not the table as you state in the vid. I'm not even sure you can buy a height adjustable table unless it's industrial 😅 4. You state it's electronically limited but show a very early software release from the very beginning with no upgrade. SPR isn't even shown & that adds forces to the stiffness of the wheel as it fights to return to centre... Driving an HVG at the speed you were, there is no stiffness, it has power steering, you numpty. 5. Why would Fanatec make their base to fit other competitors wheels ? Car manufacturers all have different parts of cars, you can't just buy a door or wing to fit all vehicles. 6. You're wrong about buying a seperate wheel to use. That's only on the GT DD Pro as it's made for Playsation & they're different ports. Tip: Don't buy a PlayStation base for an Xbox console. 7. Fanatec 'QR-1 Lite' that comes with the bundle is NOT a quick release system at all. The 'QR - 1' is and it's metal, also they're releasing the QR-2 very soon. You said you need lots of room to change the wheel with the standard QR - 1 Lite... NO YOU DON'T... Do you think people game in a room the same size as the width of the wheel base ? How would you fit a TV or monitor in said room ? 8. You said the CSL can be mounted in 3 places, the sides =1 & the bottom = 1, in total = 2 not 3 as you can't mount from just one side. 9. Wrong, Fanalab was created so you can set up individual settings for different sims/games & all profiles for individual cars. All wheel settings are the EXACT same as in the standard Fanatec software. 10. Sims or games change their physics all the time, just because one sim or two had problems before, has nothing to do with the wheel. Btw, the phrase is, "Take it with a pinch of salt"... (a well known instruction in cooking), not a grain. You say the phrase wrong as you more than likely live in America or have had the same education... a bad one, that's not your fault though, it's your brainwashing gov's fault. 11. The table clamp comes with the whole bundle, it is NOT a seperate purchase. Also, there is a difference with headphones but not cheap vs expensive. You think Beats headphones are quality ? 😂😂😂 They're just piss-poor wiring wrapped in shiny plastic, just like an iPhone, minus the glass.... and who chooses glass for a mobile phone cover ?.... an item you're more likely to drop more times than money ? I'll tell you, a bunch of con-artists & another bunch of imbeciles purchasing them... 🤣 12. Adding a display to the base is cheap if you're not dumb. You just purchase a bracket & put a 7inch tab on it and... voila. No need to buy a $200 display with programmed clocks... 13. By looking at your sampled video, learn to drive... You're absolutely terrible & it's a wonder you haven't been banned for life on ACC... When driving on a straight road, don't rock the steering wheel from left to right... That's what they do in Hollywood films & it looks stupid & one day will cause you an accident. Final score for your opinion & false points .... 1.8/1000%
You're fos... just quit with the BS. You can't even go into car dealership & pay cash, they'll report you, the old bill will investigate you for possible money laundering, freeze your accounts pending an investigation & you'll crawl up your own arse, that's a fkin fact. Your bank won't even let you draw out $800 and as all your banks are crashing, I'd get that money out or kiss it goodbye..... then you can spend some of it on books teaching you how to stop sounding like a prize bellend.

Yeah, I feel your pain that is what I was dealing with before I ended up getting a rig to mount it on, having to push it back was a hassle especially when you're in the middle of a race! Yeah, I am happy with it as well, I really want to get my hands on the Moza R9 maybe one of these days!
My csl dd 8Nm works on my older f1 (2018-2021) and assetto corsa (2014) games on xboxsx and all pc games. CSL DD has Xbox mode (green).
@@abuelb It doesnt work on f1 2015 and earlier it also doesnt work on any of the need for speed games Ive tried, doesnt work on pod or gravel
This is the fault of the game developer & not the wheel manufacturer...
Here are may takes:
Yeah I saw some guy build the power supply for around 40 bucks, I don't trust myself enough to mess with that haha. That's very interesting to know I didn't even realize that was a thing, I know that when you overtighten it, It's likely to strip the metal piece it goes into. That must be with the DD pro for sure, there's been more than a few people who didn't know about it since they purchased the DD, sounds like they fixed that up with the DD pro! Exactly some people can fly with little to no FFB with no problem! Yeah I was looking online for some hydraulic pedals but they are crazy expensive, I looked up what type of hardware was required and I am in the process of getting the rest of it, it's a lot cheaper than buying actual hydraulic pedals. I am hoping that it will work with both the regular brake and the LC pedals as well, so instead of having that thick brick spring in the middle it'll be nice and smooth and you'll be able to adjust the pressure! ;
oh, so thats why they're not selling the 8nm version anymore. glad i never bought the dd. logitech g pro here i come
There is no such thing as a 5Nm base & an 8Nm base.
You just purchase an upgraded, larger power lead to upgrade to 8Nm...
@@avgvstvs96 FACT... don't listen to idiots.
You're reading into stuff they're saying which only a fool would do without his own research.
Well, the service seems only bad overseas. Here in Germany it's great
@@waedy that’s because it’s a German company😂😂
Hello SimFin, I would like to know if the csl dd can be mounted on a metal rig plate mount by it's top instead of it's bottom ? Please reply. Thank you.
Hey Lenso Unfortunately there is no Top mounting Solution for this It would be nice if there was something out there that would add that capability. The only thing I could think of is if you were to mount this upside down in a rig you have. This could work for most titles as you would be able to adjust left and steer right to your liking but I think you wouldn't get as much feedback.
Why would you want this... it's pretty heavy ?
If that falls off, it'll snap your legs 😂
That's like asking if you can live on a ceiling 🤣
You don't HAVE TO use fanalab. You can change everything important directly on the wheel.
Yeah Noticed that I do like the extra settings that fanalab lets you get at nice to tweak for each game!
@@simfin so the filter interpolation is what I need to mess around with for that?
@@runofthemillz that would likely decrease the wobble when you let go of the wheel, also depending on the sim you are running you could try decreasing the fore feedback FX worked for me in Rfactor 2
@@simfin okay thanks! I’m in iracing 99% of the time
How did you get the base as they are forever out of stock
I ended up buying the base on pre-order last year I got lucky they shipped on time!
Do you get feedback thru the pedals like I do with my T-GTII and can I keep my T-LCM pedals if I upgrade to Fanatec wheel base ?
You might be able to as long as the pedals support USB connection I believe thrustmaster has a USB adapter you'd be able to plug in separately!
I have T-lcm pedals with fanatec csl dd. Works great, don't worry
Thank you Vladislav appreciate your help answering this question
Without a mod, yourT-GT II has no FFB to do with pedals.
Its just a wheel base called a Servo by itself.
The T-LCM pedals have no form of FFB through the pedals at all.
They're standard with a load-cell brake.
@@BCGT_Mikee_Dredd Nonsense you dont own them so dont try and tell me what I don't have lol
thanks bud ❤
How the hell do you download all the software/updates etc if you’re using it on a console? Fanalabs or whatever… 🤔
Nah they don't, I hope they get it back in stock for everyone!
They're all 350.... FOR CRYING OUT LOUD !!!!
The difference is the POWER BRICK !!!
DO SOME RESEARCH FFS...
can anyone confirm the return policy he mentioned at 7:45? i cant find this info on their site at all.
Hey Man here is the link fanatec.com/us-en/return-policy#:~:text=Damaged%20or%20defective%20products,%2Fus%2Den%2Fmyproducts. The individual warranty for the products are specified upon purchase. My brohter just purchsed the CSL DD I can confirm that the policy is still the same they gave him a year of warranty.
It's good but if I were to do it again I'd get the moza r9.
Yeah i think I will likely be with you on that once I get my hands on a Moza!
My monza broke within a week it's junk in all honesty. I've had both and Fanatec is better quality honestly.
I wouldn't, even after all the research I've done. The reason is because the Fanatec ecosystem is so developed that it cannot compare. You can always upgrade and get your hands on other wheel types.
still no new QR c:
Is there a way to get one now?
You can try looking on Ebay for one, I know a number of people who had success on the facebook marketplace as well. If you want a new one all you can do is wait at the moment.
Whats with your driving clip choices? Haha, seems like it was only you losing control ans crashing haha
That's a pretty sick wheel
Thank you!
Not with that price with that dogshit QR and 5nm torque before you get ripped off for a boost kit.
Stop crying u Karen
Wtf I didnt know about Fanalab. Ive seen people using it and thought they were using outdated software. lol
Where's the quick release update lol
I'm hoping by the end of the year but most likely we will be seeing it in Q1 2023! I am hoping on getting it as soon as they release it I don't like their current one!
I need a wheel. More than 1000 hours played on keyboard and controller i want money 😭
I have an extra Logitech I can send out! 👍 It's fully working
@@simfin Hey. Just saw your reply and it makes my heart warm knowing there are great people like you :)
Unfortunantely my country charges taxes of 50% of the products price if you sent it to me. They don't care if it's used or not. For that reason I'm gonna have to refuse it.
But thanks a lot for the offer, you're a pretty great guy :)
@@simfin I don't even know why I was ranting over youtube to be honest, sorry for that negativity
No worries bro your not ranting just expressing your concerns I appreciate it! No worries on the tax stuff Its a Logitech GT pro ps2 era but it works great it's a lot cheaper than the newer Logitech wheels!
@@simfin well wow i dont think the tax would be too much for me in this case. My guy I was a little bit away from youtube because of college this days, but this brought me true joy. I'm absolutely flattered. Really appreciate you doing it, no words can really describe it but im walking around my house smiling haha
Well in this case, i think i'd accept your gift. wow thanks!
These prices are stupid , dd any one more than a console or low end gaming pc , and at them prices should be solid for 10yrs plus, they are all ripping us off
Funny how you visualize the very cheap headphones as wired ones but the very good ones as wireless
I know hahaha I couldn't find any other good clips I should have made it myself haha 🙂
@@simfin It is cool tho everyone will understand it the way you meant it only I am sneaky stickler about everything :D . Your video helped me about deciding to buy it or not and for me it is a yes since I have no wheel now and I have played on G29 in past.
@@Sparx63 haha its all good :) you won't regret it! If you want to get the best deal you can wait untill black friday and get a pretty good discount! :)
@@simfin it also depends on when they restock it because now there is only boost kit available without the base 😅
I had one for 3 months and got rid of it
What made you decide to get rid of it, I'm very curious?
@@simfin I tried my son's Simagic Alfa mini then liked it so much I bought an Alfa.
@@paulstack2431 That's the best part about trying new things you'll never really know what best fits you untill you realy give it a try! I loved the Alpha as well, it has much greater force feedback which lets you really dial in the settings for other sims! Great Purchase 😀
I just need space for a cockpit setup :')
I ended up getting the cheapest rig I could find on eBay I believe it's the racing Marada Cockpit, I needed it to fit under my desk.
@@thor_pedothor8 yeah I had no idea of this this is an awesome idea 💡 and solution!
Finance like buy or payment plan lmao
Bingo
lol Still no word on the QR2 release date. Pathetic
Dude for real it's like duke nukem forever hopefully when it comes out it's not trash
this was a terrible review
Your points make no sense...
1. It's called the GT DD Pro & the CSL DD. No need to put CSL before both, they're different models in looks & compatibility.
2. You make out the 5Nm & 8Nm are two different models when the difference is a power lead.
You say to hold on if you can't get the 8nm model...
Even if you order the 8Nm bundle, you get the 5Nm power lead too, the 8Nm power pack arrives in a different box... 🙄
3. You say the table clamp is useless as it sits too high 😂
That depends if your chair is too low or adjustable, not the table as you state in the vid.
I'm not even sure you can buy a height adjustable table unless it's industrial 😅
They're just piss-poor wiring wrapped in shiny plastic, just like an iPhone, minus the glass.... and who chooses glass for a mobile phone cover ?.... an item you're more likely to drop more times than money ?
I'll tell you, a bunch of con-artists & another bunch of imbeciles purchasing them... 🤣
Finance ? What's that ? I only pay cash.
