- A New Yu-Gi-Oh Anime About Card Lore. For yugioh's 25th anniversary, Konami unveiled their new animation team, Konami animation, with a video highlighting different archetypes throughout YGO's history. Duelists are now coping that a Yugioh Card Lore anime should be made. Will Branded, Duel Terminal, and World Legacy make it to the big screen and what will it really look like?

I can't wait to see a 3-hour animated movie where Armed Dragons join Ojamas to combine into a giant VWXYZ megazord to defeat the evil forces of something
It will lead to the release of the legendary "DEF-Dragon Ojama, the Armed Dragon" (totally real card) which as Ojamillion ATK and DEF and has the effect of banishing all cards in your opponent's hand, field extra deck, and GY.
@@drooprtroopr6969Absolute Cinema
They need to get junji ito if they make one about maxx c
Terraformars C
Confronting the "C" 😱
Honestly, if they go the route of an anthology series, one about the “C” archetype could be fun. Just some guy finding a bunch of cockroaches in his house and whatever ensues has comedic opportunity.
Only 12? Nah abyss lore better be 24 episodes, I want that good shit
Like if you just wanted to have a 1 to 1 adaptation of the cards, you could probably fit it in 12 or even less, but I don't want that.
I want the adaptation to flesh out Albaz and Ecclesia's personalities, of which we only get glimpses through cardboard.
I want the adaptation to spend some more time on the in-between sections, on the more slice of lifey stuff, on the pacing:
The scene of albaz and ecclesia camping showcased in their mat and in their tokens.
Spend some time with them exploring gold golgonda before encountering the springans.
Actually show the treasure raid they went through as initiation for the springans.
Also show theo adin and fleur escaping the dogmatika to join the swordsoul in more detail.
Without really making up new events, show like 5 minutes of albaz and ecclesia traveling from gold golgonda to the swordsoul mountains, it is quite a trip.
Similarly for kitt traveling to recruit the spright
Have a scene with the two of them marveling as they explore the icejade citadel.
Maybe also like show a bit more of ecclesia's dogmatika life before nadir servant.
There are a lot of events and things that are not explicitly depicted on cardboard that is still a large part of the story
I think the Albaz lore deserves 0 episodes considering it's just anime bait so that children and lonely adults that are attracted to minor-looking definetly over 18 ladies and edgy twink boys buy more of Konami's products (and that's the reason rush duel has a second season considering how nobody cares about the trash Yugioh ripoff it tries to sponsor).
What really deserves a 150 episodes anime is the Duel Terminal lore, that is just an incredible story by itself filled with legendary and iconic Yugioh monsters.
But of course a great story doesn't sell, what sells is underaged girls, so we'll get another rush season yippie 🤡🤡
@@giacomoinvernizzi7256 why the hate dude
@@giacomoinvernizzi7256Bait?
ngl this is a story that deserves a movie, if not a trilogy.
and I honestly think it would do well if marketed correctly. they should do a season of one-of episodes for whatever archetypes have enough lore to fill 20-30 minutes. and if those are well received they can invest more resources into a full movie. and albaz is the most compelling story they ever had. world legacy could also be great. visas not so much.
He says "Visas", I hear "VSauce".
" Hey , V S A U C E S T A R F R O S T Michael here"
@@i_bl_nk_i"Your board are strong...or isnt?"
I can't unhear this now! 😂😂😂
no everyone just says VSauce for some reason
I was thinking more of an star wars visions style series where each episode tells a different smaller archetype story first, then afterwards transition to full seasons for bigger lores like world legacy and albaz. Duel terminal probably needs 3 seasons ngl.
3 seasons? I feel like it would take like 5 seasons if they make all the lore as it was released in the game and maybe 2-3 if they cut off some of the fluff and deliver the story in a decent manner
You could do each era of Duel Terminal in 3 episodes, each. One for each Ice Barrier dragon, naturally.
the first story cards was introduced in 2000 in magic ruler ocg, the royal series like imperial order and royal decree, the final card in this story is forced ceasefire.
the story is about two kingdom, the royal and imperial.
add : if you think visas series was broken remember that this series have imperial order, confesticaton, forceful sentry etc. Major series like royal series and duel terminal series are designed by konami as meta warping set since the beginning, also the introduction of "sell a problem, then sell the solution" business selling strategy, as the meta threat during this time was exodia, they release forceful sentry and confestication, to stop people playing exodia, this is the reason why ocg have more cards unbanned than tcg, because they dont straight ban cards, they sell the solution. In tcg the business strategy is straight ban the previous archetype.
I am hopeful for an ensumble series of short stories first. Allowing Konami to test the waters before jumping into Albaz or Duel Terminal lore. Something like Buster Blader would be prime material. The quadruple vendiagram overlap of:
nostalgic DM card, has modern* support to sell, short enough for maybe 3 episodes, while being pionent and emotionally impactful.
The interesting thing is, they were already doing this card lore stuff in Master Duel for a couple of years, just in a very simplistic format. This evolution of that concept makes sense. By the way, Superheavy Samurai agree that Yu-Gi-Oh! cards are more than just ATK points. 😁
Evil twin episode will be the most popular. Panty and stocking type vibes.
Can't wait to see Madolche Chouxvalier engaged to Puddingcess... Yeah, I will cope for Madolche.
I see you're also a man of culture
While they prob wont be getting anime lore, the new ocg support they are getting is fire though
This, so much this! Every zoomer is cope seethe rent freeing the coomer doomers and sneed feed and seed, they're locked and KEYED and SOVL and /pol/cel bloomer soulless black people(nah but seriously I'm not a racist, that's a /pol/cel thing, so please don't tell me to go back to /pol/ cuz I'm not ok) kino peak fiction!
1:07 can we talk about how that zoo deck decided it only needed to play the 1 Ash Blossom, like "yeah i'm only going first or losing, imma play one just so after hand ripping them for 5 they can't possibly top deck outta it if i draw my whole deck"
I think Sky Striker has the highest chance of being turned into an anime, they even teased it at the end, and it already has a manga to adapt.
All I want is the World Legacy lore, and it’ll probably take multiple seasons. It encompasses 8 different archetypes, all of which are integral to the story, and is implied to be tied to 3 other archetype lores
The animation better show albaz and ecclesia with a whole football team of kids otherwise I will never forgive them on behalf of Abe
I want to hope for Shiranui and Mayakashi lore getting a few episodes to their story.
I think the best thing they could realistically do is integrate actual animation into Solo modes in Master Duel. But until I see the studio take on a full fledged project, I will be avoiding any cope.
The generational wars between the Gem Knights, Vylon, Constellars, Gishki, Gusto, Ice Barrier, Laval, Steelswarm, Evilswarm, etc. Would be SO interesting to cover.
If anything I think the best move is for Konami to make animations of their most recognizable monsters. Something an outsider of yugioh would be interested in, instead of someone already buying Yugioh products.
MC ace monsters of course. I’d love to see more dark magician/DM girl and blue eyes or utopia
“the finest animation master duel could buy” got me 😂
Melffy hoppin on Downerd magician getting in the Zeus is gonna be hhyyyypppeee
Low test yugituber doesn't want to watch an anime about a single mother piloting a super robot in order to protect her children from predators.
Ill turn in my lifetime supply of Soylent if the zeus-melffy pipeline is canon.
i read this and immediately thought, Aliens.
Which archtype is this?
@@petrarycamelffies and their funny robot friend zeus
Normal Monsters have been extinct for so long people forgot they have their own lore 🤦
Counter: Normal monsters still exist. They're just very rare since 5ds onward.
@@valutaatoaofunknownelement197 I know they literally still exist, but they're so inefficient in the grand scheme of things that there's barely any reason to use them in a competitive deck. The decks I know with Normal Monsters are things like Dark Magician, Blue-Eyes, Tenyi, and Suship, that are very far from being meta (unless I missed something in the last few years). And then maybe some niche support cards like Summoner's Art.
In today's meta, are there still any Normal Monsters that people use?
@@VinTheDirector I see.
The closest one you pointed out was Tenyi, and it was more important able to have none or any non-effect ED monster (or ritual, if pushing luck) to start combos with Monk of the Tenyi.
The only recent meta deck that has used a normal is plant.dek with Sunavalon, as Genius Loci is basically required for the Sunavalon part of the deck to bloom
@@VinTheDirector
Plant Link's best opener was to summon Lvl 1 Vanilla... and then proceed to end on 6 interactions.
Well guess what, a new Vanilla Monster deck just got revealed
When I was younger I mapped out a 3 season long show based around the Warrior of Zera.
Can you tell me how its end, please. 🙏
I think it'd be sooo cool to have an anime about Aleister and he's portrayed as the main character until he has his joker arc
You mean like the Yugi-Oh Ocg Stories manga right now?
Because he is the main char for the new arc
I would imagine that Buster Blader animation would be short (6 - 7 episodes), but memorable.
My fav archetype is destiny HEROs but as far as I know they don’t have much lore to go off of, but they cud definitely force 1 onto them and all wud be gud. The lore that I personally have become attached to the most has to be the charmers. I bet I wud also fall in love w Alba’s lore or something too if I got into it but I haven’t. I really do want to c the life of the charmers and their familiars. I can c there getting a solid 48 eps out of it.
I think the reason I fell in love w the charmers so much, especially in lore, was bcuz the very 1st charmer card I pulled as a kid was blazing hiita. And I immediately was like “she’s hot and awesome!. And I ended up pulling aria and aussa too and I liked them too but not as much. Then some 10 years later I pulled the evolved form of some of them and realized there was connection. Then went around and found out there an entire lore story to them and even individually too. Then some years later the charmer deck came out and I bought 3.
Yeah i mean as a lifelong yugioh fan I can’t say the anniversary didn’t insanely excite me, and as somebody who had taken a couple year break from playing I haven’t stopped since then. I didn’t really realize it though, lmao. But yes konami spies if you’re watching it literally got me to spend 1 dollar on yugioh, so keep it up! For reference I hadn’t spent any money on yugioh since at the latest 2012 lol
Always was thinking this would be a great thing to adapt.
Now lets see if I was right, or I should not have ideas ever again
Okay... We MIGHT just have the chance to actually get to see the greatest of all... Ojama Lime. Keep your fingers crossed.
I would love to eventually see a anime with each seoson about each sets of lore. Getting one about magistus and spirit charmer/ritual beast lore, to duel terminal, etc.
Give us a Gigabyte anome arc, Konami!
Please?
Personally if I was Konami I'd first start with 3 greenlit series
Starting with an adaptation of the Sky Striker manga something I already know works and can see if there's an actual audience for an animation
-Second, a 12 episode anthology series with one episode per archetype focusing on smaller series
-Third, a part 1 Duel Terminal anime that would be either 2 or 4 cours
Then see how those work out and go from there
Honestly I think something like the Pokemon Generations shorts are the way to go. An anthology series where each episode is a part of different card lore. Going from Ecclesia and Albaz' first meeting in one episode, to the Goblin of Greed's downfall into bankruptcy in another, to the Evil Twins pulling off a big heist in another. I think it'd be a good showcase of how varied this game's aesthetics are.
Sorry to inform you, that Visas lore actually just cheap copy of True Kings lore. If you read both of them, the plot is pretty the same. But I like True King more. The other characters besides MC feel alive in True King lore. In Visas lore, beside Visas and his doppelganger, they feel soulless.
.
What I don't like from Branded, both MC (Albaz & Ecclesia) don't have any meaningful development until the end of the story. Yes, I know the side stories are more bangger like Fleurdelis, White Relic, the betrayal in Swordsoul and Icejade, Kitt's side story, etc.
.
S-Force is my favorite, because this is the biggest Sci-fi lore in YGO for now. And Sci-fi is my favorite genre.
.
Magistus, or we can call this as Spellcaster World or "Spell Counter" lore is great too. The references for each archtype in this lore is very elegant. The lore is wide if you dig deeper and deeper. I think this lore has the biggest potency to create a majestic story.
.
But, all of them are still inferior, comparing the best lore in the game, The Skull Servant and their people. The anime will flop without Skull Servant.
Skull Servant is not a mere skeleton, but the king of the common Skelly!
Bro it’s not even a cheap copy of anything. Visas lore is basically the plot of Yugioh Arc-V 💀
On one hand... I would love to see an anime based of the card lore.
Yet... I do not expect it will get the justice it deserves.
Especially since their attempts for anime seem to have skipped straight to Rush Duel with few to no regulation on regular TCG dueling.
Id be super down for short anthology anime around old and new archetypes
this is what i already thinking about few years ago, a series for the cards lore instead of a bunch of kid save the world by playing a card game.
I want to see Dragon Core Hexer animated. Such a great story in only two cards!!
Dude you forgot yugioh vrain animé that happen after Yugioh Arc V Yugioh Vrain focus on link summoning and the english dub it is yusaku that goes into virtual riality, and while in virtual reality is name is playmaker, and they both have what they called their version of master duel which is only 4,000 life points, but play like master duel with some of the effect change for the animé, and they have speed duel, where they played by speed duel rules except they have link monster already available, and if they don't if they got the skill card they can get new link monster to put in the extra deck during the speed duel and the speed duel is on a surf board, they also have all the other summoning mechanic but the only summoning mechanic missing in Yugioh vrain is Pendulum summoned.
As a professional amateur Branded and Visas hater (and to a lesser extent Duel Terminal love-hater), I'm glad that these archetypes are having their stories told in animation like they should've been from Step 1 instead of CONSTANTLY breaking the game over its knee. You can't tell me Branded wouldn't make for a far better JRPG to the tune of Xenoblade or Chrono Trigger instead of five successive archetypes that make me hate playing the game where Super Poly on legs is in every deck. I wish these animations all the success in the world, so that Konami can see there's money to be made here and shifts all of the development dedicated to breaking the game into making stories that don't break the game.
Yes I will vote for the Melfy show, I highly suggest watching Pui Pui Molcar solely for the visual injection of diabeetus.
I really want a Lightsworn vs Darkworld anime lore
I very much want a Vendread 24 ep revenge quest and a Labrythn Slice of Life episode and a Darklord season
We need this to be a full 50 episodes
he managed to sneak in a PVZ soundtrack, hes a legend
ngl i just wanna see how babooksa got that tired tbh
Besides the commercials being animated my guess is that they are using that animation team for the yugioh vr stuff.
I love melffy sir melffy best deck
We should all vote melffy in protest.
If the Abyss lore isn't done justice, I swear to Ra!
I NEED THIS IDEA TO BE MADE INTO REALITY!!!!!
i hope at least they include centurions, they're so underpowered that even heroes can beat them 😭
"if this has even a 3% chance of affecting which cards get featured in official animations in the near future, I better not see any of you voting for melffy."
henlo o/
I hope we get to see duel terminal lore play out! Maybe some master duel stuff too
I NEED THAT SHIRT!!!
Where do i get one from?
They could do so much. An entire series with Albaz, one with Visas, itd be amazing.
(Also i need Evil Twin anime)
It's so cool that Konami code is on Konami Animation logo
I somehow need cipher lore💀
Watch arc-v then 💀
I'd like to see some of the more unique archetypes get an episode. Vaalmonica for instance could be an interesting one.
it would be cool a anime lore baseaded, especially that now teh writters don´t have more patience to write duels
Blue-Eyes vs Red-Eyes OVA.
Gagagigo lore better be animated
Even thought I like the anime lore adaptation of YU Gi Oh card, I don't want to get too excited. Knowing KONAMI track records it will not satisfied or fulfill our thirst for these cardboard lore. This seems like a marketing scheme.
HUNGRY BURGER LORE????/??slash?
world legacy and the krawler. come one, konami...
I would love to see how Rappa Chiyomaru turn into a war criminal for I:P
I think I can actually explain that.
Before the events of Small Scuffle, Rappa began getting suspicious of what the intentions of the S-Force are after cracking a database and finding false warrants and sketchy, cryptic documents she didn't quite understand.
She pressed Justify about it but he shrugged it off and instead gave her an expert assistant (S-Force Nightchaser).
S-Force Nightchaser is an android that is to carry out whatever mission given. The one we see is given the task to capture I:P and Rappa.
After a while of being forced to do this with reasons that were suspicious at best, Rappa quit the force. Eventually finding I:P who was grounded by Nightchaser, she defends her.
I:P and S:P may work together now, they may not, I'm not entirely sure. It would make sense due to the technology themes of all three storylines (so a criminal whose entire thing is stealing data and delivering it would be quite helpful) and the fact they have a common enemy for now.
Nightchaser now questions why Rappa changed sides and what her motives are.
Source: Valuable Book EX translations, Art Book 1
If it isn't only just Dark Magician or Blue Eyes than Konami TCG won't bother with it
I hope they do world legacy first. I personally want them to get their toes wet with more generic story first and then tackle the more complex Albaz story.
good idea, but thats means I'd have to wait so bad idea
Buster Blader lore
@@jacksonville9642that shit goes hard. I would also want vendread to be adapted
@@Clapkreag excellent taste, though Vendread Slayer magically coming back from the dead at the end kills most of the vibe of self sacrifice to atone for one's sins
If they want an easy one to start with, there's sky striker.
The story is already covered in a manga (a really good one at that) so they can just adapt it.
The story is short and self contained enough to fit in 12 episodes (if anything it is too short), has general appeal, and is a beloved yugioh archtype
You can’t stop the melphy vote
I want to vote Melfy now, just because you told me not to. You can't tell me what to do.
I just want Albaz lore anime Konami. Forward this video to Konami lol
i rather they started with the first duel world stories. I want to see Marauding csptain and gagagigo's friendship
Yugioh cannot exist witout an anime/manga to go along. Very happy that they remembered that
Hahahah, yes, they realized it because of the decrease of interest towards them
We pray 🙏🏽
it's MR Keyag O face reveal wow
Konami make albaz or dual terminals anime and my life is yours
This COULD work out if the episodes were staged correctly. Maybe for smaller stories 37 minutes but for larger ones like fallen of Albaz 1 hour and 20 minutes or something like that. Overall I hope they don’t cancel or flunk the whole thing.
I just want like a side story episode of labrynth
Personally I'm not excited at all for card lore anime, I don't think it's nearly as interesting as some people imagine it will be, and runs the risk of becoming a "why watch this as opposed to any standalone anime of it's genre?" situation. The card lore animes will sacrifice their connection to Yu-Gi-Oh as a brand and just become generic scifi/fantasy anime #50 which doesn't represent our game well and shouldn't be anything we want to watch.
Good video though, your stuff is great.
Honestly I think they should adapt OCG Structures, is actually about how the card game is played and would go a long way in getting new players into Yu-Gi-Oh
Yes. I really want pcg structures, a lore anime and a traditional yugioh anime, but no way they can handle more then one at a time. Ocg structure would be interesting because besides the content itself, if it dies really well that could significantly change how they go about yugioh anime content.
I want World chalice lore !!!
1:51 Eisbahn
XD
Yeah, they really could just make anime involving all the card lore at this point. No new protagonists needed...
I personally despise Visa Starbuck and wish his anime to be a disaster
they should have made this instead of Yugioh seven tbh. not like I hating the rush duel thing but I prefer more Lore of the cards which is shown in Duel master.
It's too late for an April fool's joke.
This video made me sub
WTF do you have against Melffy?? They are the 2nd I would vote and the only reason Albaz would be 1st is because their lore is so damn deep.
Wait there's a MAL entry for this?
Something funny happened to me today, i said konami could use the archetypes for games/animes.
Not a say in and I am being downvoted to oblivion 😂
Generaider n runick lore when?
I recommended animation lore at the ycs
I absolutely voted for melffy
Melffy Bluey Anime?!?!
was that a tamer? and trushula was never evil.
Give me one episode focusing on the misadventures of goblin kid and it’ll be peak for me lol
Where is gagagigo anime
I’m voting for melffy, the FUCK you gonna do about it
When it come out?
we don't know if it'll even come out yet, Konami had a survey asking if Yugioh players wanted this in a real anime series so it'll all depend on the survey feedback
Gimme qliphots NOW
we want melfy
So, Konami recently confirmed that the final episode count of the 8th 'main' Yu-Gi-Oh anime, Yu-Gi-Oh GO RUSH, and that GO RUSH is (in Japan) ending this year. Which leaves the question; What's Next?
Another Rush-Duel theme'd anime, an OCG/TCG theme'd anime, a hybrid anime which features both games, a Master Duel (video game) theme'd anime, or a lore theme'd anime as what's suggested here. We'll just have to see.
