I think the plan in the fourth book was like this. Harry is brought (alone) to the graveyard, Tom get's the 'blood of the enemy' and is back with a body. Kills Harry, polyjuice's himself as Harry. Come back from the maze (as Harry) with the cup and when he gets near Dumbledore kills him. And he has backup of Barty who is Moody. This is the only explaination as to why the cup/portkey was not only magic-ed to bring Harry to the gave but also to take back to hogwarts. Beacuse Voldy always intended to go back as Harry. That's why I think this was his best plan. But this is the thing which leads to his end too, cause he took Harry's blood and this allowed Harry after he was killed in DH
That probably was his plan, but it wouldn't have worked either way as him taking in Harry's blood bound Harry to life. He could not have killed Harry. Maybe he would've let one of his Death eaters do it
Re: the Goblet of Fire one, I don’t think the spoon Portkey thing would have served Voldemort’s purpose. a) He didn’t want his return to be immediately known to Dumbledore, and having Harry go missing after last being seen in Moody’s office (his friends or someone would likely know he had gone there and not come back) would be a surefire way to have Dumbledore immediately suspect foul play, especially given that Snape and Karkaroff had the Dark Mark. Even if Barty Crouch Jr had gone to the graveyard, brought back Harry’s body and planted it somewhere in Hogwarts and tried to magically mess with it to make it look like he’d fallen from the Astronomy Tower or had some sort of freak accident, there would be no hoodwinking Dumbledore. Whereas if Voldemort’s plan from the book had been successful and Harry had died in the graveyard, his body could have been brought back to Hogwarts and staged to look as though Harry had tragically died in the maze. Fake Moody could even have continued to teach at Hogwarts masquerading as Mad-Eye if Voldemort wanted someone gathering info for him at Hogwarts in subsequent years/until he was ready to reveal his return (I’m sure he could have lifted the curse on the DADA position, though I reckon Dumbledore would smell a rat that a teacher had managed to stay for more than a year). b) Something I’ve noticed about all of Voldemort’s plans is that he has a flair for the dramatic. He seems to have a need for everything to be a show. Harry bested him at age 1, and he’s salty about it and isn’t content to kill him quietly without a proper spectacle/build-up. He has the typical villain flaw of being overly proud of his plans and “playing with his food”, as you put it. So I don’t think a spoon Portkey plan would really satisfy him. He needed maximum drama, and he made sure he got it. Lol.
There are still a bunch of errors in it. 1:18 why shouldn't it be enough for him? He doesn't appreciate anyone's life, except for his own. So it's 100% rational for him to go and get rid of a potential problem, even if he doesn't believe in prophecies - just in case. 1:27 first of all, it couldn't be about Neville, because Neville was born on the 30th of July - 1 day before Harry. The prophecy clearly says (twice for some reason) - "as the seventh month dies". The seventh month is July, and it dies on the 31st day, not on the 30th. Second, even if Voldy has the same thoughts about a month "dying" as Dumby, then he must've decided to kill both Harry and Neville, but Neville was just lucky to have Voldy failing with Harry. 2:16 for less than 700 years 2:39 honestly I have a feeling it was easier to get past Fluffy with magic alone rather than to find a dragon's egg. 8:32 snake is not at all stealthy and way less powerful than Voldy. The whole plan is as ridiculous as in the 4th book - Voldy could've gone to the prophecy hall himself invisible the next day he resurrected. 10:25 that vault was empty, and therefore less protected, while Lestranges' vault as belonging to the old and respectful family was amongst the most protected vaults. Besides, the intruders must have made a robbery unnoticed, which is even more complicated. Otherwise, Voldy would have known someone was up for his horcruxes - so the vault is not only a safe place but also an alarm. 10:45 yeah, and it worked out very well - Dumby had no idea not only that a horcrux was in the room, but even that the room existed. 14:02 why bother when the school is already under his control for 8 months? He arranged the battle not to take over the school, but to fetch Harry 14:41 he doesn't stall - he was pretty much successful. The castle was breached, and as he said, the defenders lost half of their force before the timeout. The timeout was called to summon Harry so that he didn't need to spill more magical blood. The strategy was to kill many people so that Harry wanted to stop it at the cost of his life. Also before the timeout he was thinking about why the wand doesn't work properly, and what will happen when he meets Harry again. Right after he, as he thought, dealt with the wand, he declared a timeout and summoned Harry. The whole battle was only about Harry alone. Btw, it's the only plan not only well-thought, but also well-executed - he wanted Harry, he did exactly what was needed to get Harry to come to him willingly, and he got Harry. Solid "A".

Nr. 7 Dumbledore`s death 1. He didn´t make Severus the backup, he probably knew that Narcissa went to Snape but wanted to see what Snape would do! 2. It was a suicide misson for Draco he prbably didn`t expect him to survive!
I think part of why they couldn't just send harry to voldemort right away is because he was still to weak as he says in the first chapter to worm tail that if worm tail left even for a bit he would loose all his strength he's gained over the weeks. I think he needed to be fed and nurtured to be able to have his current baby lizard type form to survive the process of the potion.

y'all do know portkeys normally don't work in hogwarts. They have to be approved by the Minister of Magic AND they have to have Albus' blessing. Albus was the only one who could make a portkey in or out of the castle, so why make a new portkey when you cand just modify an exciting one?
Vault no. 713 was not one of the high security vaults which was how Quirrell had easily got to it that part of Gringotts(He probably flew his way down to avoid the magic waterfall that washes away enchantments/put the bank on high alert). The Le Strange Vault was a high security vault and Harry and his friends couldn't fly down by themselves without brooms; they were doomed to fail from start to finish anyway despite managing to escape a well protected vault with Hufflepuff's cup. There was no way to hide a long broomstick in your robes not even to hide it in an enchanted pouch.
I agree that the OotP prophecy plan was a good one overall. There’s just one thing that bugs me… If Voldemort or Harry needed to be the ones that retrieved the prophecy, Voldemort could’ve just taken polyjuice potion as someone in the ministry, gone in there himself, grabbed it, and boom, mission accomplished
I don’t think you should be able to use a portkey within hogwarts usually, it was probably only allowed for the triwizard cup to transport the victor back to the start of the maze
Voldemort only knew of Flamel from his knowledge on wizard history; It is not like you can find "wizard" names in a phone book (muggleborns might be an exception).
It was not on Voldemort's orders for Dumbledore to die at the hands of Severus Snape; That is what book 6 wanted us to think. The unbreakable vow and Dumbledore's death are the tools to fool Voldemort to believe that he has won and confirm his belief in Snape's allegiance to him. Between the cave and the Astronomy Tower it was Dumbledore's plan to speed up his impending death all that time since the day he accidentally touched Marvolo Gaunt's cursed ring.
It would not matter whether or not Voldemort had Harry's Blood; The wands would still impede against the other, Voldemort's plan in the graveyard would've failed either way. The start of the journey of the plan does not matter; what mattered is the end result.
Tom was able to hide a basilisk under the school, brainwashed his ‘friends’ into becoming his cultlike following, having KILLED people and gotten away with it, opened the Chamber of Secrets and being seen as one of the smartest and nicest people in Hogwarts only just makes me dislike Voldemort as a character more. The guy seems to have lost all of his cunning, charm and wit. Like seriously, if Tom was still…Tom, in a sense, maybe he’d have been able to successfully overtake the British high school of magic. Then again I’m quite vague with some of the lore.

why did Lucius Malfoy chose to give Ginny the diary when he did. 2 years earlier. it probably would have went far better. as harry would not be at school yet. he knew harry liked to save the day. was it ultimately entertainment for Draco. or was it always the plan to give the diary to Ginny. I assume that the diary would not go as well for a boy. as boys dont use diary's in that way.

Im pretty sure that the acromantulas weren't on any side. They just got kicked out of the forest, so they attacked all the wizards

Hogwarts is a 7 year boarding school (leaving year seven the more optional year of schooling), not a high school.
