I remember 2 years ago playing the first quarter of dark souls 1 remastered with my buddy whose a fromsoft vet. Held my hand the whole time and we blitz through the two bells. Then stuff came up and we had to stop. I came back to dark souls 2 which I bought years before when it went on sale but had to play alone since the servers were down. It was the hardest gaming experience of my life but I beat the game twice on new game + with two different characters. Being alone with no one to aid me and going fully blind was such a wild experience that I fell in love with scholar of the first sin. I died so many times but I kept hacking away until I’d clear an area and use the souls to become stronger. I eventually got a copy for my younger brother so I could co op with him and get him use to souls games before elden ring. The games so much easier with two people but is also a really fun experience as I’d do a faith strength build while he became a hex dex warrior. He honestly liked the game a lot and looked forward to playing together as we fought each boss. I love dark souls 2 for the teaching me to get gud and giving my brother and I a game to share.
Dude when I glance at your subscriber count, I was incredibly surprised that you only have about 200 subs. New subscriber here. keep up the great work hopefully you make more souls content like this.
Only thing in DS2 i have left to do other than beat the final bosses on my 2nd playthrough is to collect the required amount of special souls to break all the ice in the dlc
Honestly, getting every achievement in DS2 was a lot easier than some people made it out to be. Like, for a while I was under the impression it was near impossible because of how some of the covenants work but like, you don't have to level any of those because the true bro of Dark Souls, Ghosty McGhostface, has your back.
There are a few items and methods that would have made your experience A LOT less painful: -Whips can be used to break spitting statues and pots without getting too close. Does not consume anything (like throwing knives), you don't need to meet the stats, and the whip can be broken. -bows. Specifically, you can put a fire infusion on a short bow, for minimal stat requirements, and then apply the fire effect to regular cheap arrows. Additionally, stock up on poison arrows, and cheese almost all of the regular enemies from a distance. The poison build up does not depend the bow's level -small summon soapstone is the best, and it's sad it wasn't added to DS3 or Elden Ring. Allows you to be summoned into a player's world for a short amount of time without actually having to commit to beating the boss. If you successfully complete your mission, it's like having sat at a bonfire, but without respawning the enemies. I'm currently replaying the game, and using the crown of the Old Iron King, I have turned myself into a mobile bonfire, being able to cast healing and repair, as well as weapon buffs. The crown restores 20% (rounded up) of your spells every 2 minutes. That's what I used when I did a no death/ no bonfire run on a NG+ character.
This the best Dark souls imo, played it first and it truly has the best balance of, fun quirky gameplay and a load of secrets and interesting things that always make you look around and find something new
The whole situation with dark souls 2 reminds me a lot of the twilight princess situation. Both black sheep that were generally disliked on release, but with time people started looking past the flaws and saw what a truly special and great game they both are. Dark souls 2 and twilight princess are both my favorites in their series'.
Doesn't help you now, but grinding the giant lord using bonfire ascetics is an easy and fast soulfarm. You end up getting 300k at max difficulty, more with soul boosting items, and it takes 3-4 minutes each run.
Another way to see if the Belfry Sol invader is present is to kill EVERY enemy in Belfry Sol so they stop respawning, then while at the bonfire, cast that one miracle that finds the invader or nearest enemy. If the invader is present, he is the closest enemy to that bonfire, and it’ll go into the sky. Otherwise it’ll float towards the Alonne Knights.

I'm not trying to convince you, but to me, it's a flawed masterpiece. It's my favorite of the 3 dark souls games, but I feel like it does have some flaws
Its definitely highly flawed But I love this game to death Currently I'm farming to get all the spells, miracles and piromancies so to get all the achivements
@@caspertheemoghost1482flaws that they should’ve fixed for Scholar instead of introducing more (blocking off a tutorial area? Why?) Scholar overall just makes the game worse and 99% of the complaints are over that version. Some areas in vanilla have so few enemies you think “that’s it?”
DS2 is easily my fav Dark Souls just because of the fact the story is actually understandable and the common person can piece together what is happening without creating fan theory.
Miguel, i Was using your videos as an guide to the Platinum, Just a hint for someone also doing it, instead of farming souls or doing the complete game tô ng++ Just use bonfire ascetic on the rotten boss figth and kill him like 20 times, Will give you souls enough to buy all spells/miracles/pyromancies and also make you skip the game a lot by killing him to get 3 million souls to open drangleic castle
This was a great video and I'm glad UA-cam recommended it to me! You definitely deserve more views and subs! (Also I'm legally obliged to hate you now since Dark Souls 2 is my favorite Souls game. . .)
I find people enjoy or dont enjoy DS2 mostly based on how fast they like to play. DS2 has a LOT of enemies, but the vast majority of them are actually split up initially. People that like to run into areas aggro everything and once and then get frustrated by it thinking its intentionally bad design. Players that are more patient and kill every enemy as they go recognize the ambushes before they activate. I think it has the problem of being the second game with the same name, so people expect it to be more of the sake, when instead it's very experimental. For example, if you actually enter Iron Keep slowly and wait for the enemies to come to YOU, you can easily pick them off one by one.
Shrine of Amana and iron keep get way easier if you use these special, mythical items called RANGED WEAPONS. Dark souls 2 has regular bows that scale off of strength, and crossbows are easy to find and can be used in the offhand easily, there's no excuse or reason not to use one other than foolishness or stubbornness. Seriously though, bow in your second main weapon slot, or crossbow in your offhand and 1-handing your main weapon, and this game is much less difficult, especially iron keep/amana
If anyone has the OG version for ps3(not SOTFS) if you go to Majula and go behind the world death count statue(if messages can still appear) can someone tell me if the message that says “visions of happiness” is still there?.. it’s my message and I wrote that the day my mother died..this was the only game she watched me and my brother beat and it holds a special place in my heart. She loved the view of the water I wrote it almost a decade ago Love you all❤️
DS2 was my first souls game! I am a huge fan of the perma-clear feature; defeat an enemy 12 times and it won't respawn? GODSEND. No matter how many times I fall, if I take EVEN ONE enemy with me, I have made progress towards that safe, silent, empty level. Gave me a huge feeling of accomplishment and safety, when I can walk thru Iron Keep without getting knocked off narrow ledges. Playing DS1 after, I got burnt out from always feeling unsafe in every level, constantly losing my souls because I dropped them further ahead of where I could reliably get back to... I felt punished for exploration, especially in the dark Catacombs and those skeleton-dogs. The long walks between areas like Bilghttown and Firelink, or between the first and second bonfire in Anor Londo, really made me get tired of the cool visuals. On the other hand, I understand how DS1 players, trying to run thru DS2 areas and NOT perma-clear them, find the enemy hordes to be excessive. I don't think the DS2 design is horrible, I just think it requires patience and the intentional use of the perma-clear feature. The same way the pre-Lord-Vessel part of DS1 requires patience with ALL THE WALKING between areas, which I DID NOT have, lol.
'i have life gems they cant hurt me'🤓 idk why but that line just killed me I cant stop laughing at it other than that it was an enjoyable video like always :>
Xbox really messed me up getting all achievements because sometimes it would just refuse to unlock... So if it's something you can only do once per playthrough you get to do it all again yippie.
I wanna say you could've cut down on the grind immensely by using bonfire ascetics but I think not having a plan and doing something like this is much more fun. Pretty good!
So you played this game with a guide? The fact that you didn't die to the Pursuer (he said his first real death happened in Heide's tower) and knew how to avoid his attacks, and how to chease Dragonrider make me think so.
I love DS2. It expanded on the weapons and spells from DS1, souls were plentiful which I personally loved as it made the early-mid game more interesting, the durability system actually had a purpose because of how easily items break, and the best hub of any FromSoft game. Don’t get me wrong the enemies and bosses are pretty damn lackluster, and the map is more or less shit. But I still enjoyed it a lot.
Tried getting all achievements for this one aswell. For some reason the looking glass knight and giligan achievement will not pop for me. Great video, did enjoy.
DS2 isn’t a bad game, but it doesn’t really work as a dark souls game. All the changes they tried (adaptability/despawning enemies/life gems/etc) played more like demons souls. Knowing this game went through development hell with from softs b team makes me appreciate the final product, even with all its missteps there’s a fun game there
I can appreciate many of the criticisms DS2 gets, but I will always be of the mind that this trilogy is the most consistently hi-quality trilogy in video game history. I defy anyone to bring me another pure trilogy, no spinoffs or franchise-milking sequels, where every game is worth the time to chew through all of it's content. It's fine to not like it. But for me, it's hard not to feel like a lot of the louder hate comes from people who rarely play ACTUALLY bad games or sequels, like Devil May Cry 2. Maybe I'm just old and jaded, I'm willing to see the shadows King's Field in DS2 and say to myself "The future is now, old man..."
Shrine of annoyen..amana is infinitely easier if you use a bow/spell to snipe the mages. Kudos for farming the sun medals, I never had the pacience for it.
Probably semi-useless note but I've found Unveil method for farming that covenant phantom easier. I mean, you kinda have to evaporate enemies in the area 12 times but at least afterwards you will only deal with the bloody ladder when he actually spawns 😂
Definitely. I started with the ladder and ended up doing that and it was much better. You get into a nice rhythm. And with my magic build I could just strafe and one hit with that big ball spell (I’m bad with names) that goes through enemies. Didn’t even need to go around the fence. If your lucky you pierce the guy in the tent and get the one in front. Repeat, check every now and then for drops, ez vegetative state achieved.
Hey, does this apply to the sotfs edition too? Can i follow this guide for it? Just finished ds3 platinum with your guide, very much appreciated! The covenant grind though...
As a certified Dark Souls 2 enjoyer, I’m only just at the point that I’ll freely admit and talk about how the game has many flaws (namely ADP, which I like as a concept but not in execution), just like DS1 and DS3 have many flaws too. However, I legit think it’s the best in the trilogy, it’s just so different from DS1 and DS3 which I got bored of after only a few playthroughs. DS2 is easily the most replayable in the trilogy considering viable build diversity and how fast you can level up too.

i get so happy when someone new shows up in the community and starts to post dark souls vids! more great content! excited to see what you post next!
We found him, John Darksoul
I am so sorry you had to do this...at least there was eye contact🤣
lol
Gotta LOVE unskippable end credits
I died so much on the dark lurker fight that the enemies on the side with Havel just stopped respawning.
I love thi vid man, cant wait for the rest of the series
well i hope you have time to wait then
So far the best DS2 video I've seen. I'm looking forward to new vids
tyty, im getting around to it
DS2 is a flawless masterpiece and you can’t convince me otherwise
Edit: I enjoyed the hell outta this, have a sub
tyty, i said this to someone else but i definitely went too hard on DS2 for this video
I'm not trying to convince you, but to me, it's a flawed masterpiece. It's my favorite of the 3 dark souls games, but I feel like it does have some flaws
Its definitely highly flawed
But I love this game to death
Currently I'm farming to get all the spells, miracles and piromancies so to get all the achivements
@@caspertheemoghost1482flaws that they should’ve fixed for Scholar instead of introducing more (blocking off a tutorial area? Why?)
Scholar overall just makes the game worse and 99% of the complaints are over that version. Some areas in vanilla have so few enemies you think “that’s it?”
What a cool looking axe dude 16:36
bro i can tell you that this dude will get to 1 million, and i will be forgotten. like the unnamed.
DS2 is easily my fav Dark Souls just because of the fact the story is actually understandable and the common person can piece together what is happening without creating fan theory.
This is such a great and enjoyable video! You're gonna do great on this platform, if you keep up with this style of content. Subbed!
This is amazing! Hope you manage to growth, your content is really good so keep at it!
tyty, im trying
Great video!

love you God
@@Migamations love you too little one, keep up the good work
Nice
amen o m'lord
Miguel, i Was using your videos as an guide to the Platinum, Just a hint for someone also doing it, instead of farming souls or doing the complete game tô ng++ Just use bonfire ascetic on the rotten boss figth and kill him like 20 times, Will give you souls enough to buy all spells/miracles/pyromancies and also make you skip the game a lot by killing him to get 3 million souls to open drangleic castle
That Linkara in the dark holy shit that got me good lmao
"That's one of many spells acquired"
You poor poor soul. I once helped my brother get every spell and yeah, it's a thing.
oh how it starts off so simple
I like how all the problems he has could be boiled down to "skill issue"
This was a great video and I'm glad UA-cam recommended it to me! You definitely deserve more views and subs!
(Also I'm legally obliged to hate you now since Dark Souls 2 is my favorite Souls game. . .)
nah thats fine. looking back, i probably shouldve been more positive. but ty for watching
@@Migamations I was merely joking! And, you're welcome! I'll most likely continue doing so anyway :P
I'll never understand the hate DS2 gets, its brilliant IMO.
Instead of watching your PC memory you can cast the miracle that reveals invaders. Still a horrible grind, though.
Honestly didn't even know that existed, my heart goes out to the xbox players that dont get an easy 'cheat' for that grind
Please do one of these for the other games as well, you are so entertaining and interesting, i was sad when it was over, bit ups man
tyty I will be in between other games i wanna talk about
Shrine of Amana and iron keep get way easier if you use these special, mythical items called RANGED WEAPONS.
'i have life gems they cant hurt me'🤓 idk why but that line just killed me I cant stop laughing at it other than that it was an enjoyable video like always :>
thank you, David (the guy who said the joke) appreciates it as well!
0:00 “Every achievement you say? Hmmmm…do I have time to watch someone suffer greatly at minor inconveniences…yeah I got time.”
Torch for spiders, they don’t attack if you have the torch out
Glad I found your channel
One of the best videos on ds2. Subscribed
tyty!
Xbox really messed me up getting all achievements because sometimes it would just refuse to unlock... So if it's something you can only do once per playthrough you get to do it all again yippie.
my heart goes out to you dude, im sorry for xbox's lack of working
@@Migamations really it's my fault for buying the game and not throwing it in a fire
@@HipToBeeSquare if nothing else then ds2 can at least make you appreciate the other games more
I personally love dark souls 2 all of the secrets feel really cool and make it all worth it and the dlc are great
I wanna say you could've cut down on the grind immensely by using bonfire ascetics but I think not having a plan and doing something like this is much more fun. Pretty good!
So you played this game with a guide? The fact that you didn't die to the Pursuer (he said his first real death happened in Heide's tower) and knew how to avoid his attacks, and how to chease Dragonrider make me think so.
i did use a guide, this is also like my 4th or 5th time beating the game
19:41 I had no idea this was a thing. I've never had that happen.
Hate to sound cliché, but you should definitely have more subs my man. Solid content!
lol, tyty. The reception to this video is definitely changing that
@@Migamations I hope it does well for you buddy. Look forward to more, you got a sub from me 👍🏻
@@Migamationsyou gained one just now bro
@@MonsterDeplorable yo, tyty
bro had beef with the rotten
Man made the guy from full metal alchemist
You told the rotten to touch grass. Isn't that your name? I certainly don't want the rotten touching me 😂😂😂
Did you see all them hands tho? mmm
Bless the Algorithm for showing me this video. I enjoyed it a lot!
You are indeed the dark soul
the pursuer is pretty difficult when you're drunk and high, took me 20+ attempts
Big DS2 fan, its my favourite of the series, and I still have never done all of the covenants stuff, since some of the are a pain.
Tried getting all achievements for this one aswell. For some reason the looking glass knight and giligan achievement will not pop for me. Great video, did enjoy.
You should try for the two hidden rings next! turn that 99.98% into a 100%
Light a torch and the spiders go away
DS2 isn’t a bad game, but it doesn’t really work as a dark souls game. All the changes they tried (adaptability/despawning enemies/life gems/etc) played more like demons souls. Knowing this game went through development hell with from softs b team makes me appreciate the final product, even with all its missteps there’s a fun game there
i didnt talk about it, but there's nothing fundamentally wrong with ds2. just a bunch nitpicks that ruin it for me. kinda like DS1 after Anor Londo
Ds 1 had circle strafing /chain backstabs / unstable framerate / cancer pvp (that's when it works)
@@addounsamiyoucef1999 very true
Get him to 1,000 subs
getting those medals/tokens was quite a grind
not much as Demon's Souls stones but still...
nvm just finished DeS and after switching to Pure Black WT it took only one boring night to get one Pure stone
this is a good ass video man 👍
tyty
Been grinding to 100% DS1. I’m planning on doing the whole series, but this looks like a grind…
DS3 is the worst grind...
@@MuukkisPS3 Demon’s Souls too
Shrine of annoyen..amana is infinitely easier if you use a bow/spell to snipe the mages.
Kudos for farming the sun medals, I never had the pacience for it.
Alright man you've earned a sub
Good content very jolly
@@elvickRULES neat, glad the struggle is over for ya
Hey, does this apply to the sotfs edition too? Can i follow this guide for it? Just finished ds3 platinum with your guide, very much appreciated! The covenant grind though...
Are you working on a Ds3 all achievements vid? 👀
