Is this the MOST HIKED alpine lake trail in the Eastern Sierra?!

The Big Pine Lakes trail is probably one of the MOST HIKED alpine lakes in the Eastern Sierra and for good reason. The trail is approximately 4.5 miles to two of the most picturesque glacier-fed alpine lakes.
Trip date: September 23, 2024
It was my first time back since 2020, and I was quickly reminded of why I’ve skipped out on this particular trail for so long. With an elevation gain of 2,300 ft. in less than 5 miles, you know you’re in for a treat.
The aspens have started changing colors (not really pictured here) and the trail is very exposed from what I remember.
