Really like the blade shape. The size is just right for me. The multiple deployment is a great feature as people have different preferences. Thanks JB!
Do not own a knife with a Vanchor so I can't comment on that but I did just get a Vosteed Mini Nightshade and love it! Thank you JB for sharing and thank you Dark Water for sending this in for review!
@BigRedEDC it's been a long time since I've had a unique lock to try out and being a OG Nightshade owner I already know I like the blade shape so the change in handle layout should be interesting as well .
the elmax knives are in aluminum i would have loved to see the knife in titanium even if they had to up the price to say 200$. i got the orange one and i love it great video brother.
I dig the looks of this one and the concept of the locking mechanism but I've never had a Vosteed with that lock so I'm not sure how I would actually like it. Great review though. Thanks for sharing this one.
Cool blade shape. Looks like a hawkbill blade and a Yonder blade mated and this is their offspring. But that Vanchor lock is NOT new. My 1984 Gerber Paul Knife and my 1996 Gerber Paul Knife II both have a lock like that. I like the lock. The Paul Knives can be opened one handed by pinching the lock and flinging the HANDLE (the lock and the blade rotate as a single unit). THANKS for this view, JB!
mmmmm, I like this refinement of the Nightshade design. I know you've been a bit more critical on the V-Anchor lock and I respect that. I wonder if this blade/handle geometry would support any other kind of TLL or similar...
@BigRedEDC to me, it feels like they're trying to make the most quintissentially Vosteed knife they can. Nightshade is one of their most unique models and V-Anchor is their most unique-ish lock, so I get it. Still cool to me, and probably the version of the Nightshade and Nightshade-adjacent platform I'd want to get for myself.
It's a good looking blade but that's about it for me I've never used that kind of lock but from what I've seen about it I don't think I'd like it now the top liner lock that's my jam I'd be willing to bet that vosteed will do all there models with the top liner lock Eventually great video man 👍
Yue let me play with it at Bladeshow. The only problem i had, and it's not much of one, is the extra thickness. That's about it. Catch you tomorrow JB.
It may not be your favorite lock but your pun at 1:38 had me rolling on the floor.
lol....it ran through my head when I said it....wasnt intentional at all
Hey 👋 JB thanks for sharing this one definitely interests me a lot. Thx DarkWater for sharing it with us

I have that same model with the green handle. Fantastic knife. I am a huge fan of that blade shape. Vosteed really nailed it.

@timb4425 oh yeah. Cuts just just fine
That is definitely slick. The lock is interesting. I'd love to take one apart to see how it works, but I'd be afraid I couldn't get it back together.
@davidh0159 lol...right on David!
The knife comes with a diagram showing all the parts and where they go.

I like the design but not a fan of thumbstuds. (Holes are better than studs😁) Give it an opening hole and then we'd be talking.
Right on William
