Everyone maintain their skin, remove body hair and follow specific routine to maintain that. So in Korea men wearing makeup or if he put lipbalm/lipstick ,in public is no big deal. Different experiments with hair colour and all , there is no exception. I We can say increase in KPop culture contribute various trends among Korean population. They are much welcoming it.
But still there are some taboo remains regarding tattooing and all. Fearing of consequences from conservative masses idols mostly hiding them to public.(Adults say it's bad influence on young viewers🙊)
And about skin ship...it's much promoted among Koreans . See, in Korea if two boys walking through the streets holding hands ..it's no big deal.. kissing on cheeks, flying kisses, piggyback rides, grabbing butt and all welcomed among close friends. It's like expression of intimacy among best friends . Woah, but it's doesn't mean that all can grab our butt just because they start being friends with us.
For example, idols behaving too much close , seems little weird. This Jhope and Jimin always grab others butt. Jin and Jk are usual victims 🤣🤣 And Chanyeol usually soft bite his members... They are all like brothers and they love and care each other . And this skin ship usually taken as "gay thing" . You must be so confused for the ship videos and all( taekook, jikook,NamJin , sope ...etc).
Shipping idols romantically is never promoted by them, fanfiction and delusional fans started this trend of romantic shipping.
Bromance to romance...see there is ship thing in every band, not just BTS.

പിന്നെ makeup ആയാലും ഡ്രസ്സിംഗ് ആയാലും അതൊക്കെ ഓരോരുത്തരുടെ താൽപര്യവും, ഇഷ്ടവും അല്ലേ... എനിക്ക് ഇഷ്ടമില്ല, ഞാൻ ചെയ്യാറുമില്ല. ആരെയും നിരുത്സാഹപെടുത്താരും ഇല്ല.

There was this group of teachers who would be like "shadi, hadi ninghal endha mukhathil okke cream, lipstick, foundation okke ittirikkunnadh" we just laugh awkwardly. adhin shesham they started to get more insulting. like wiping our face with their fingers and making us uncomfortable about our own choice.
Both of us got publicly humiliated infront of our classmates as well as other students and teacher for more than 2 years.
we endured it and now we wear makeup (like dark lipsticks, contour, highlight, mascara etc..) and we are more confident in facing others. -from 14 year old twins in kerala-
(just wanted to put it out there for people who are discouraged for wearing make up.)
P.S dont assume others are wearing makeup because of bullying and public humiliations. everything is their choice like us.

As a man the one and only time I had worn a lipstick is when I dressed up as Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj for school fancy dress. To dress up as the most masculine figure in India I had to use lipstick. But our society has so much intolerance to people who use lipstick and makeup. Makeup is for all sexes and it is done for ones own confidence and it is a personal choice. If you use makeup or don't like makeup doesn't matter. This society should stop judging people simply for the choices they make.
