Somehow my comments on this cantata got posted on the video for BWV 72! Had the privilege of singing in the tenor section for this cantata(BWV 23), one of Bach’s audition cantatas that secured his position as music director in Leipzig. I particularly like the two choruses: The first for it’s interplay between the duet and choir and it’s bipolar nature as a reflection of the text; the final chorus, with it’s chromatic and dissonant character is a true tearjerker, perfect for music that was meant to accompany communion. It’s basically the Agnus Dei translated from Latin to German.
i love your organization, and the way the music is presented. Keep up the good work, as your music is a blessing to me and countless others. That first movement is so intense, beyond what words can really describe. The last movement brings me peace.
@@pvmuskosming Sehr interessant - Danke!

Lovely. Just begun the no pubs restaurants churches concerts etc in Australia. The art of losing isn't hard to master... although it may look like .. write it! Like a disaster.
Unusual for the engineer to not get this quite right as in my opinion the engineering is usually impeccable I think the alto balance is too low in the mix but there-again it's unusual to have such a strong soprano

Wonderful, once again, the more often I listen to this, the more I hear.
Outstanding tenor. His Ach! gehe nicht vorüber is perfection.
Wonderful. And the pace-switch in the final chorale is masterful: an urgency of pleading…
Phenomenal, and the final chord is epic!
CON QUÉ NITIDEZ Y BELLEZA ESCUCHO ESTA HERMOSÍSIMA CANTATA, GRACIAS RUDOLF LUTZ Y A TODOS LOS MAGNÍFICOS INTEGRANTES DE BACH FOUNDATION !
I am in lockdown here in San Francisco, so I cannot tell you how much your videos mean at this particular time. Much thanks.
What are this experience and Bach teaching us?

21/03/2020, a good day to discover a new cantata from Johann Sebastian Bach. This is outstanding!
*TODAY TO 335 YEARS OF HIS BIRTHDAY!¡!*
I've always been puzzled why this cantata, one of my favorites, is relatively little-known.

Rigtig skøn lidt sørgmodig musik, men skøn solosang .....

Why did Bach start this cantata with an aria instead of a chorus? It's unusual for him.
