Natasa, I am a long-time crafter (creative sewing, quilting, embroidery, cross-stitch, crochet & scrapbooking) but I have just recently, happily stumbled into the world of "junk journals." I also watched your "getting to know me video" and I agree that these are better named Treasure Books (and also how healing this creative work can be). This tutorial was my guide for my first time taking my machine sewing to paper!! Thank you so much for your clear explanations & your inviting style! I am so excited to work on my first journals! Now I'm off to create my signatures!

Wow! I'm a few years late to the party, but this is a great video! I've been wanting to get into scrapbooking for a while now, but I'm more interested in making my own books than anything else. This would make a lovely art journal, with space for a pen, using watercolor paper for the signatures. Can't wait to play around with this. Ordered your book so that I can learn even more!

I like this ...making today for my two little granddaughters who are coming tomorrow. The older one whispered to me last week "Grandma did you make my book yet?" had to try this one too! Thanks, Natasa...so easy and CUTE!! Love your ideas and inspiration...I bound the first signature into the booklet and then I used a paper pad and put the cardboard inside the pocket so I can use this again and again!! wish I could post a pic for ya!

I saw this video and loved this! My family has been doing mini trips in between vacations and I like to have a journal to remember the things we do. I made this for our recent trip and it was awesome! My daughter even journaled in the book. I differently will be making more.

I needed an outline for a mini-junk journal and this is one of the best ones. It's a great tutorial (as all of Natasha's are) and fun to make and use. I sell my junk journals at a local arts organization's festival, and these mini journals provide a smaller price point to give buyers a wider range of costs. My regular journals sell for $30 to $45 and the mini ones are $10 to $15. I realize that this is very low, considering the time and cost of materials, but I just need to get rid of them!

What a great idea for leftover scrapbook paper that I haven’t used in a long while but didn’t know what to do with it. I love this little journal. I made one and decided to test it out myself to see if it would be useful. It obviously is because I’m using it every day and loving it. I also love that there is a space for the pen. I don’t have the thing for making the holes pretty for the fastening (at least not as yet) so I think maybe for now I could glue the ribbon to the back and tie it around. I don't have a sewing machine, but I'm thinking the pamphlet stitch for the signature will be enough to make the pockets. I do love pockets! I don't know if I'll ever recreate anything you show, because I'm not as crafty, but I LOVE watching your tutorials anyway!
This is kind of like when I say "I can't draw" and people say, "you CAN draw" and I'm like "no really, I can't!!" haha BUT with craftiness, (perhaps the same is true with drawing) the more you do it, the better you become. I think EVERYONE can be creative and crafty, if they enjoy doing it :) It becomes easier and more natural with time :)

Okay, I've finally decided to get a sewing machine. I've resisted because of space but it always looks so much better plus it really does a better job of securing. Ive seen basic, small machines at fairly reasonable prices. Glue is fine for some things but that stiching cannot be beat!👍👍
