I say this all the time and peoples are like, "but the 9th was the last n/a Si". And then I have to decide if I want to waste the next 10 to 20 minutes typing out all the reasons the 9th is probably the worst si, and then start in in why the 8th is for those who want peak old school honda pedigree.
Very worth it I've had my 2011 si for 9 years I boosted did everything myself plus tune currently at 11.5 psi I learned from datalogging and Evens Performance Academy takes time but tuning from flashpro makes a huge difference that's for sure.
@@no5thgear311 drinks gas like a pig I only drive it on the weekends but I have it spooling at like 5500 and don't spin at all It pulls hard 3rd gear and up. If you have a good tune it's great but my tune isn't good for gas mileage
If you want a exhaust that that nets good power and its tamed when cruising. look at Full-race/Thermal. I have clips of it being all motor and supercharged.
@@no5thgear311 if you get an intake especially the HR 3.5" cold air you will legit gain peak 15hp and 10ftlb of torque and tons of mid range. My friend just got his stock si tuned but I still slightly pull on him stock ecu with only a short ram intake lol
I did it to get rid of my Rev Hang. No regrets whatsoever. I already had Intake and Exhaust and when I got the Hondata Reflash it had a louder exhaust note.
To be fair, you added Hondata Flashpro, not a 'tune' per say.. I've read on many forums it's not advised to run even the Hondata 'fully stock' basemap for an extended period of time as it will run lean. You still, even stock with Hondata, need to get a proper tune by a reputable tuner. You're doing more harm than good running the stock basemap for months. Kind advice.
I’ve had the 8th gen si and I’m still not sure what rev hang? Is it when you make a quick stop and get to 0mph and the rpms are still high? (Like a delay)
Just bought an 8th gen as well and rev hang essentially is when going from 1st too second you cannot just shift quickly. If you shift quickly the revs will hang and it’s annoying as fuck. You’ve gotta almost baby the car while still trying too shift as quickly as possible. If you also shift too quickly the Revs hang. The revs don’t immediately drop in the 8th gen.
@@no5thgear311 Im sorry, *Rev 9 not rev 6, I have a full race it is the best of both worlds, not quiet like q300, not loud like n1/megapower. I have to sound clips on this profile.
8th gen one of the last real SI's
Love this thing to DEATH!

Hows the reliability with 11.5 PSI?

Glad you tuned it. It's a start to enjoy the 8th gen platform, no doubt! I like the R shift knob too!
Love your videos, simple and easy to watch. Love your personality and commentary too lol
Damn, thank you :-) Gonna live off this compliment for a month lmao

So the rev hang is in the tune? I bought a fa5 recently about to buy a flashpro for it

I own a 2008 Civic Si coupe. Check out the Yonaka exhaust system.
Will do. You have any sound clips?
I have the Yonaka it’s actually pretty good not too loud nice rumble I’ve heard nothing but good things about Invidia also I drive a 2007 Si Sedan

Whats the difference between race and carb? I had a couple bult ons like intake, radiator, thermostat, fans and headers
I believe the CARB versions can only use pre installed maps in the unit while the race version is capable of custom tuning.
Worth it 🔥

Full Race to ball, or rev 6 which I hear is essentially the same thing but cheaper.
