This was hands down the best video so far. I loved that castle, the woodwork is so spectacular, not to mention what a history stands behind the castle, and the gorgeous view.

This brings back some good memories.. I was here in 98 with the marines . We did an exercise here at night time .. absolutely one of the best castles I've had the pleasure to visit .. thank you so much for sharing this and bringing some of my memories to light . Incredible video as always 👏

The Isle of Wight is one of my favourite parts of the UK, I originally went to do what I called 'The Queen Victoria pilgrimage'. I only went to see Carisbrooke Castle because of Princess Beatrice's connection to it but ended up really enjoying it and learning about its history.
It is absolutely stunning for sure, underrated! That's fantastic, she had such interesting history and a connection to the castle it was truly fantastic to head into the museum too. Thank you for watching!
It is amazing to think of life back when living in such a castle was normal, the arcitecture was simply stunning. I would love to have the opportunity to live back then. Thank you for the spectacular tour🥰

The two of you could be university professors with the amount of knowledge you display in your channel. We love watching and had a discussion about when glass was used in windows because there was a lot of glass in this castle.

Lovely tour, and I appreciate the narration of the castle's history since castles have one of the most complex histories. The woodwork and the sculptures in the chapel are beautiful!

English Heritage has done a great job preserving this castle! I find the old Norman castles fascinating because of the pure defensive stance that they took, and of course this castle has so much history following as well.
The EH have done exceptionally well maintaining here, was really enjoyable! I agree with you about the Norman defences too! Thank you so much for commenting and coming on our tour with us :D

I recall visiting this castle on a school trip many many years ago when we went to the Isle of Wight for a week. I recall thinking how big it was, but probably didn't take in as much of the information about it as I should've. Thanks for a trip down memory lane and a big thumbs up from me.

So much to see. Whent there as an infant on a school trip probably 50 year's ago, so different to what I remember, which isn't a lot lol, but the donkey wheel was in action back then. Thank you for this little reminder, it is definitely on our to do list now. Have you been to Chepstow Castle just across the older Severn Bridge, which is now free to cross, it's a brilliant Castle. Keep the interesting videos and all the very best to you and your partner for 2022.

Ahh fantastic! yes you should head back there :) Appuldurcombe was closed when we went unfortunately and we weren't able to drone at Carisbrooke because of the 35mph winds, it was super gusty unfortunately!
@@PinnedonPlaces Bad luck. For some reason Appuldurcombe became one of my favorite houses of all times.
