I disagree. Sure, there are majors that, alone, would not get you a lucrative job, but many of the majors you listed can be used as Segway’s into more education like graduate programs (getting a PhD or Law degree) which can guarantee a lucrative job that still utilizes the skills learned through your lit major or whatever it happened to be.

Strongly disagree. Any kind of college degree can prepare you for a good career if you use it right. Humanities degrees are great for leveraging yourself into leadership positions-maybe better than STEM, since you hone your communication skills so strictly that you’re pretty much forced to develop great transferable skills

This is a really bad take. In particular, dismissing Art as a major while encouraging Architecture suggests you know little about either discipline. They're inextricably tied up in each other. You'd be setting your kid up for failure. It doesn't sound like you understand what college majors are supposed to do and what they don't do.

I'm not sure where architecture falls on the list but there are clearly majors that have positive ROI and majors that clearly don't and he did a reasonable job of naming majors that are on the negligible/negative ROI side of the spectrum. That's hardly setting a kid up for failure. Not like the majors that lead to real jobs he mentioned have equal representation among IBR/IDR borrowers compared to the ones that don't...
