Humanities degrees are great for leveraging yourself into leadership positions-maybe better than STEM, since you hone your communication skills so strictly that you’re pretty much forced to develop great transferable skills

This is a really bad take. In particular, dismissing Art as a major while encouraging Architecture suggests you know little about either discipline. They're inextricably tied up in each other. You'd be setting your kid up for failure. It doesn't sound like you understand what college majors are supposed to do and what they don't do.

I disagree. Sure, there are majors that, alone, would not get you a lucrative job, but many of the majors you listed can be used as Segway’s into more education like graduate programs (getting a PhD or Law degree) which can guarantee a lucrative job that still utilizes the skills learned through your lit major or whatever it happened to be.

Ima subscribe. Good stuff. When the pandemic hit I had a fairly new (2015) trucking company and with how bad it got the only reason I was able to hold out for so long was because I had no debt. I owned all my trucks and trailers and still do. Now I run a lot of owner operators as well due to getting into business with trailer bridge and they have their own ships which bring in containers at the port here so I’m able to provide options for owner operators who do not have a trailer themself without having to worry about get another trailer and usually after you unload the container off they’re able to use it for other runs before having to eventually return it but this came afterward.. I was hearing of trucking companies which had been in business 50+ years shutting their doors and leaving their drivers out on the road without any fuel due to not having the funds to pay their fuel card credit lines and if I had any debt during the time I wouldn’t have been able to maintain because it was some weeks that after taking out the drivers payment and fuel expenses I was just breaking even. I promised all my drivers I’d keep food on their tables and do everything I could do so I even had a week or two I spent my own money just to keep the whole thing going forward. Debt will kill your business if you don’t actually have funds to cover it before you start.
