This is really important information.. So fresh fruits has to be a small portion. I like to eat 1 banana and I think it has 14 grms sugar + 1 eat orange and apple. i have to make adjustment portion on my fruits. Thanks Dr. Berry. Good lesson to know.
I'm 45 and just had my first mammogram. Had to go back and get another to check a small spot today. Yeah im a little freaked out. I opted to get checked again in 6 months instead of a needle biopsy. I have been eating relatively clean, but this has motivated me to eat squeaky clean.
@@SarahK-d6o Same here, minus the clean eating (but I'm slowly working on it). I have to get a mammogram every 6 months over the next 2 years. Thinking about getting a biopsy and getting it over with.
Thank you for pointing out the distinction between detection and prevention. When people conflate the two I get the impression that they don't know what they are talking about and so I tend to assume that the rest of the information they are giving out is dodgy, too.
Agreed. Carbs and sugars have to be the number one dietary factor, plus of course excessive refined omega 6 oils. These two factors generate huge levels of inflammation. To think these foods have been so heavily promoted by so called nutritionists at major health institutions over the decades, and are still being promoted today as healthy!
@frostekWhy? People have been eating excess carbs for decades, correlating with an enormous increase in diabetes & obesity, I'd guess not a coincidence. Starch turns to glucose whereupon it is absorbed in the small intestine. Starch is just like sugar. However, sugar contains fructose which could be even worse! Fibre is non-essential, and no strong evidence exists for health benefits related to it's consumption - There are no randomised controlled trials to that effect.
Breast cancer survivor here thinking more about preventing recurrences. I eat carnivore OMAD so that covers the no sugar, no grains, no seed oils, no booze rules plus the fasting advice. I have never smoked, have an excellent waist/height rations, and am fairly active (I know I could do better on this), and I'm careful about plastics. I never had children and I like it that way. Is he saying that having a kid and breastfeeding is beneficial or that, IF you are going to have a kid, do it earlier in life? I was on BC pills for 15 years. When you talked about hormones, you neglected to mention the dietary estrogens such as soy. I am convinced my case was down to the pills plus lots of soy milk and tofu back in my misinformed vegetarian phase.
This is definitely a video to revisit often and do a self assessment to ensure we're doing the right thing. Thank you for this! Such great videos . . . 👍👍👍
Hi, Dr. Berry, can you tell us now, what foods are good to prevent us for breast cancer!?! You already told us what not to do or eat. I am 70 year old woman and my mother passed at the age of 68 from breast cancer. I was diagnosed a month ago that I suffer from a pre-diabetic condition, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. I have immediately stopped my eating habits, and started eating what is beneficial for this condition that I suffer from. Also I am exercising more and taking medication for high blood pressure. That is in big part to you for your advices. I just discovered you on UA-cam recently, and I do watch most of your videos which I deeply enjoy! Would you please answer my request as your earliest convenience??! Thank you so very much. God bless you😇
Dr. Barry, I am surprised you didn't mention iodine consumption. That, along with the other 12 items you mentioned, is what I do to decrease my chances of getting breast cancer. Great awareness video. Thank you, as always, for the good work that you do!
Dr Berry made a whole video on iodine. You are right, but iodine & thyroid is a tricky topic, since it's quite complex. Some ppl will take iodine for Hashimoto's, eg., and it will cause their symptoms to worsen (hair falling out, dry skin, heart palpitations, achy joints, etc) because Hashimotos is an autoimmune condition, not just low iodine, so that has to be fixed first. I agree that iodine is important, too. I have added it to my daily electrolyte regimen myself. But I'm careful about promoting it carte blanche to everyone. People need to research that very thoroughly and learn about synergistic nutrients, bromide detox symptoms, and how to prevent detox also, before just throwing in the Lugol's to their daily routine.
@@birkit1133 Yes, you are right Birkit. That's probably the reason why. I was just thinking of breast health, Glad you reminded me of this. I have hypothyroidism, and tolerate iodine well, but that doesn't mean that others can. As you said, it's tricky.
@@ritaromney584 also research lectins and Hashimoto's. Just in the last few days now I'm learning more about plant lectins and it's CRAZY these things can cause our autoimmune diseases, particularly against our thyroid glands and gut! Anyone not losing weight on keto should get checked for antibodies targeting the thyroid gland if possible. Or go ahead and just start the Elimination Diet with meat for a few weeks and see if you feel better. I'll post a link that talks about how lectins work below... with info on lab tests & Elimination Diet... everyone interested in self-healing would benefit to learn about these destructive anti-nutrients and the havoc they wreak! It's totally mind blowing!
I learned the hard way. I ate like I was a human garbage can. After being diagnosed with two different types of breast cancer I stopped sugar and went keto. Thankfully it was caught early and refused chemotherapy. As a result I lost over a hundred pounds, lift weights and normalized my blood pressure. I also practice intermittent fasting. Going into my fourth year of survivorship. It's the best I felt in decades. Looking back eating all that junk was not worth it in the end. Purposely eating junk is like a person who smokes when they know it will destroy their health. Stop before you hit the point of no return.
I do not participate in screening mammography. I am in a low risk group, but obviously as we age, the chance of developing any cancer, will increase. This is my choice. Im very comfortable with my decision.
I noticed a big difference in cutting out sugars. For me, it wasn’t garbage food but natural sugars ( certain fruits). I don’t digest sugar well (does anyone?) and I’m not a fan of carbs. It has made a difference. Thanks Dr. Berry.
Cool video, but speaking about seed oils... flaxseed oil has one of the best omega 3 to omega 6 ratios. It's one of the few oils that has more omega 3 than omega 6 - that's worth mentioning.
Dr Berry thank you for such valuable information. My mom passed to breast cancer😥 and my younger sister had it too 2 yrs ago, thankfully she is fine now. I will follow this prevention. THANK YOU and I'll look for your video about intermitent fasting.
So much fear around breast cancer. It is over diagnosed and over treated. Tiny microcalcifications should be left alone. Calcium deposits in breasts are oxalates, so choosing low oxalate foods would be a great way to prevent this.
I know this is an old video. I believe keto makes a huge difference. Cut back on sugar and it matters. Body feels good and going daily exercise helps as well. Thank you for the video. If possible how about a more current up to date video. Things do change and findings as well. Thank you
Placing this in your newest video so you’ll see it. But I will definitely watch this video anyway. I need to know how to successfully get through Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years. These holidays are the worse to try to struggle through. Please do a special video for this.

That was an excellent presentation on the many details that can help to prevent breast cancer! I was wondering if you were going to mention alcohol. Many do not! Your “foolish” comment was hilarious. Due to many sources of pressure, the recommendations of daily alcohol intake still are too high. However, many drinkers do not want to hear about it. It is a presentation full of hope, because when we take responsibility and realize that we have a locus of control over our lives, we can get educated about how we can create the best behaviors for health and vitality. Well done, Dr. Berry!
Please address what to do if you have had breast cancer. I have heard from different medical people that eliminating sugar and carbs is not necessary when you have breast cancer.

@KenDBerryMD: First: Thank you for your great work! One important factor in reducing cancer risk is VITAMIN D. With a healthy high level of 60-100 ng/ml (= 150-250 nmol/l) the cancer risk is reduced by more than 65%, according to a study of grassrootshealth (PUBMED 27049526 "Serum 25-Hydroxyvitamin D Concentrations ≥40 ng/ml Are Associated with >65% Lower Cancer Risk"). With 80 ng/ml the cancer risk is most probably reduced by even 80%.
Wolfgang... YES!!! And the American Cancer Society will NOT tell us that!! They won't tell us that 100% of cancer patients who die of cancer have low and depleted vitamin D levels!
@frostek Oh wait... (single most over-used phrase by random dumb-asses to feel smart on the internet), I don't have to see those patient records. Those results were published several years ago in medical journals throughout the country and in the UK. The fact was also shared by most mainstream media sources (local news TV and radio stations) in the US and UK. Why do you think vitamin D3 supplement sales have drastically risen over 10 times in the last decade? Where have YOU been? And more importantly, why do you want to argue about vitamin D levels in cancer patients online with strangers? What's in it for you? What's your agenda?
20 years ago I went through a full scale breast cancer treatment , surgery followed by chemo and radiation . It almost killed me . I was convinced I was leading a healthy lifestyle , oatmeal and organic orange juice for breakfast , low fat lunches . I feel so betrayed by all those doctors who preached this to me . Have you ever looked into histamine intolerance and food? I have been doing keto for months and was even moving more carnivore. I started having headaches, vertigo, weakness and fatigue etc. I am taking electrolytes daily. I discovered many symptoms occuring shortly after I ate. I discovered I was reacting to many of the Keto staples eggs, bacon, cheese, aged meat/cured meat. I can only slightly tolerate freshly prepared chicken. I love the keto diet, but I don't see how that is possible with so many foods restricted until I can heal. I would love to hear your thoughts on this topic.

Doc I am 60 and type 2 diabetic. Recently I had stunted my toe on bottom of door badge with which it skinned of layers of skin. I tried to heal it myself but noticed a week later that I had a red line heading up middle of foot from damaged little toe area. I went to a foot doctor and he gave me antibiotics and showed me how to clean, what to put on it, and keep it clean. About a week later I developed a red plum colored spot on other foot in the middle of the forth toe and little toe. To make a long .org short, I had to go see vascular doc and they took the toe. They also put stents in my right side veins near groin area. Before all of this I thought I had a recluse spider bite on my left side of calf. Now everything is healing better but the sore on calf. Out doc says it’s a ulcer that diabetics get. Up to these mentioned problems I’ve never had any issues with feet and air was controlled. Finally last week they did a culture Test to see what kind of bacteria had had growing in it. I’m on ciprofloxicin for it.its only. Been a couple of days but is there other treatments or supplements, etc. that I can do to heal it? It. Stings really bad 24/7. Thanks for reading this.
Metformin is making me really sick in morning when i take it. 2 pills that are 500 each twice a day. I’m also on a blood thinner now and two pills for water around the heart.
I’m on a strict diet. It’s hard but I’m doing it. It’s basically rabbit food only less the carrots. Lol I will check that out. Frankly I have tried dieting in different ways, clean zings, Japanese and Chinese accurpuncture, exercise like a bandit. Seems insulin however bad works the best. I am open minded, and willing to do other things. Good news my feet used to burn like crazy. That’s cleared up. My current concern is this dang diabetic ulcer on leg.

Dr. Berry please do exhaustive videos on Wilson's disease, The Evolution of the human diet, and pancreatic cancer.
Don’t wait 6 mths get a biopsy it’s simple and doesn’t hurt
Really? I passed out!
@@SarahK-d6o Same here, minus the clean eating (but I'm slowly working on it).
I have to get a mammogram every 6 months over the next 2 years. Thinking about getting a biopsy and getting it over with.
Thanks!
Thank you !!
Thank you for pointing out the distinction between detection and prevention. When people conflate the two I get the impression that they don't know what they are talking about and so I tend to assume that the rest of the information they are giving out is dodgy, too.
YUP!! Me, too!
Can you make a video on how to reduce chemo side effects, and what to eat when you’re on chemo treatment, please .
Excellent topic!
Thanks! There are just so many women out there who don't know they can take charge of their risk. They don't know yet...
Thank you for all the wonderful tips , stay safe my friend
Saving lives and preventing cancer.👍
I think he means if you are going to have a kid. I do agree with you about the soy though.
You are changing lives with these videos.
Thanks, Dr. Berry. You are the hero of so many and we all appreciate the time and effort you put into getting us this very helpful information!
God bless you😇
Please do a video on ovarian cysts.
This info is vital . Thank you doc and will share it in my group 🤗
How are you doing? Did they do surgery? Just got bad news and now going to switch over to keto/carnivore
I do not participate in screening mammography. I am in a low risk group, but obviously as we age, the chance of developing any cancer, will increase. This is my choice. Im very comfortable with my decision.
Mammograms cause several types of harms.
@@maplenook the worst being, getting treatment that you didn't need. Essentially "overdiagnosis".
I noticed a big difference in cutting out sugars. For me, it wasn’t garbage food but natural sugars ( certain fruits). I don’t digest sugar well (does anyone?) and I’m not a fan of carbs. It has made a difference. Thanks Dr. Berry.
I wish I seen this before my diagnosis, I will still take this advice though..thanks for sharing
You look amazing! Thanks Doctor...
Cool video, but speaking about seed oils... flaxseed oil has one of the best omega 3 to omega 6 ratios. It's one of the few oils that has more omega 3 than omega 6 - that's worth mentioning.
@kellysue1972 No, it doesn't if you keep it cold and use just for salads.
Thank you so much doctor for this very educational and informative video you share to us. GOD bless.
Hope you're still doing well.
Just read and have to agree with you.
Buy keto friendly chocolate and make keto friendly cakes and slices
You can do it Tami, one minute, hour, day at a time. You are worth it!
My first year of keto holidays I made faux keto replacement foods and my family will never let me live it down. Just trudge through and make some keto desserts. Pumpkin pie and cheesecake can be easily made keto-friendly.
Thank you so much dear doc. I'm a student now aged 20years old. I get some pain I don't know whether normal or not in my breasts but more so in one and that's my right one. And too worried at the moment.
Dr Berry also has a video on breast pain and iodine.
Thank you Dr. Berry! As always, informative video!

Love your videos, and I’m reading your book right now.
Great info! Thank you so much for sharing!
Dr you have any videos that are current on breast calcification??
Thnx for this video. Great info...thanks

Only by the grace of God I’m still here today , it sure wasn’t my “ healthy” lifestyle . Thanks Dr Berry for finally giving me a weapon like Keto to help me to prevent that from ever happening again , I’m very grateful .

After working close to 20-years in law enforcement it occurred to me watching this video there’s similarities with doctors and police officers. Doctors write a RX after the fact and police officers write a report after the fact. There’s no such thing as
“ Preventative ” anymore. Learn how to protect yourself...
Good observation. Also, doctors are supposed to do prevention at check ups. How's that been working out for us?
Birkit 11 If the correct labs are ordered it’s helpful. I had to twist my doctors arm for some of the lab test, she agreed after I took Dr. Berry’s advice and said
“Please document on my permanent record that I asked for lab work and you refused to order it”.

Hi Dr Berry ,
I am a breast cancer survivor for 6 years, would you kindly tell me that the 10-12 points which you mentioned were almost not there in my life style even though why did I suffered from this illness, that is
I didn’t like sugary stuff
Had my Menarche at 12
Had my my first child at 21 and last at 28 years
Never used Contraceptive pills(hormonal pills)
No family history of breast Cancer
Was not overweight
Never use microwave oven
Never used plastic or styrofoam containers
etc
Donald Matheson just wondering but are you on insulin? What is your typical resting blood sugar level?
130 - 160 casting mornings. 70/30 novolon 30 units twice a day. 2 metformin
Metformin is making me really sick in morning when i take it. 2 pills that are 500 each twice a day. I’m also on a blood thinner now and two pills for water around the heart.
There is a cure for T2 diabetes. It's called a ketogenic diet. I personally know dozens of people who are former diabetics, myself included.
Another great video ! I’ve shared it around....but the BMI used by medical doctors isn’t accurate at all for anyone with a decent amount of muscle mass ❤️
What about mammograms. What do you think of them.
I would love to see something about BV, Dr. Berry, since that misery among women is even more common than yeast infections!
K H-C -I’ve used coconut oil on my self “down there” for years and I haven’t had one since!
