I was born in the very late Autumn of 1978. I have seen practically everything Shani Wallis has been in via Cable Televison, Turner Classic Movies, and UA-cam! The first thing I saw her in was the 1968 Classic Drama/Musical movie Oliver! I love Shani Wallis! I have always wanted to meet her in person! I, myself, like Shani Wallis was always an actor and singer since age 3! I was on a television show at age 4. I earned my Bachelor of Arts Degree in in Theatre and Drama as an undergraduate in college and then my master's degree in library and information science specializing in Public Children and Young Adult Librarianship, Children and Young Adult Literature, Programming for Children and Young Adults, Reference Librarian, Professional Storytelling, Professional Puppeteering, and Programming for children and people of all ages with special needs! I also play the piano like Shani Wallis! Excellent Interview! 10 Stars+ Shani Wallis is a triple threat! A Great Actress, Artist Dancer, Pianist and Singer! A Lovley Person with a sparkling personality! I did know that she had one brother in show business, but I didn't know she had two brothers. I also didn't know her father was deaf! Great interview. Shani is a lovely vibrant lady. 'Oliver' is such a timeless classic. I have it on DVD and my neighbour's kids who are 10 and 8, love it and know all the songs. So it has the ability to speak to and appeal to a new generation ❤
Wow. I thought we'd lost touch with Shani for good. Heard nothing about her in years and have seen Oliver so many times over the decades, especially around the Christmas period. She gave a great performance in the musical and I hope we hear more from her in the not too distant future.
I took two of my fraternity brothers to see Shani at the Playboy Club in San Francisco in the early 70’s and she came over to our table to visit. She was so gracious and lovely. Her casting as Nancy in Oliver was controversial at the time, but she did a wonderful job.
