Awesome video. I bought a KX100 for my girlfriend in 1999, it was so much fun to ride. Those little bikes are very fast. 28hp on that would be ridiculous with a sub 100lb kid riding it.
Thank You, I am older now , my interest and love started with these smaller bikes.Firstly would love to see more of Dereks content .Hopefully to help fathers, younger ones to decide what to buy. Still young at heart watching where it all started .Derek is one of the best IMO I am from Australia I couldnt think of anyone personally better for the build the explaining run down Regards Craig
If you could what size tire is that on the rear? I picked up the 2025 112 yesterday and I want a tire like that asap! Thanks in advance bud love the channel
Any advice on squeezing a little extra power out of a '17 KX-100 for an adult ridden play bike? Or who to send the jug for (good) porting these days? I'm torn between the bolt-ons only, porting & bolt-ons, or just leaving it stock. Stroker? I'm just not sure which, if any, mods are worth the time/ money, or will be noticable with my 175 pound adult butt on it. (I don't think it's slow, but faster is better) I really like the little thing (fun/ play bike) and I would even consider doing the stroker crank w/ stock bore + porting, but the little info I can find seems to be all over the place and in disagreement. People even say "Just get a bigger bike"😂... I have bigger bikes, I want a mini! Any advice at all would be very appreciated.
@@HorsepowerHouse the reason I wanna see a build is to see how much you can get out of it. I ride one in my field and hits harder than the kx85 I rode once imo
Thanks for videos and time. What did you bore that carb out to diameter ? And you taper bore, so does that mean it's actually the stock diameter at the needle location ?

Would be cool to get ahold of a new RM85 and kx85 just to dyno them all for comparison.
Find you some days ago..... amazing videos....so much info and just like 1000views. Crazy.

@@Lukas50C Yeah, like a kid that weighs 98 lbs?
Love the kx100. Built a tough one for my boy years ago. Was so impressive. Sad when we sold it. We built an rm125 for him now
I think you can make 28hp. Please comment in video how it will affect ridability.
I'm having fun!
Nice video, thank you. You are like the Richard Holdener of MX! (that is a compliment incase you dont know who that is)
just less successful lol
Awesome, but waiting for part²
Would like to see how a Rad valve would perform vs the Vforce
If you buy one and ship it to the shop ill dyno it for you on this bike
Loved it Derek great work
Thanks Craig

How about trying a lectron carburetor and also a smart carb SC2
If they dyno worse should we publish it?

we build rocket ships on that platform - just depends how much you want to spend. Our 103 long rod stroker package makes about 30 hp on that model
You should do a rm85 build!
We have excellent mod packages for those. But not a popular bike
Nobody rides RM85 anymore. And that is a damn shame.

should I dyno it with a knobby so we cant get accurate results?

Stick to the triplewhoppers bro😂
So with the basic mods how much different are the carb settings? Is it just one jet leaner?
Jetting is mostly independent of mods to cyl or head
Our jetting is much different than a stock carb because its a bored carb
