Reminds me of my first car 62 Fairlane it had a 221 V8 in it. It was a 2 door red ext. I put a fully sync trans it from a 63 I put shifter on the floor 3 Speed I put dual exhaust on it I also put Fenton SS wheels on it It was a beautiful looking car wish I had some pictures of it. I also put bucket seats in front they came out of a Subaru
Hey man nice car. Cool that you’ve had it so long. I’m gonna build a factory five roadster. I was thinking of putting this engine in. How will it sound. I don’t care about too end speed I’m not a speed junkie. I want it to sound mean and be quick.
My first car was a 1962 mercury Comet. It cost me $230. Dad like it because you could open the hood and see ground on three sides! Sold it after 3 or more years. Sold it to a man that turned it into a pickup! Went and bought a 66 VW.
Hi Darrian.. I just bought a 68' Galaxie 500 with the 302 for my (13 yr old) son to build for his 16th birthday. It's all there, just needs a restoration. Upgrades of suspension and brakes are mandatory. Maybe a engine, but for now low power will ok for a 16 year old's first car. How much was the BLUEPRINT Crate Engine? Thanks for the video.
Hey, thanks for the question - sounds like you have a sweet project on your hands! The engine I installed is PT# 277BP3023CTC however we don't list that one online anymore, but it can still be purchased if you call us at 800.979.0122. The next closest engine that comes dressed like mine did and is online would be this: www.speedwaymotors.com/BluePrint-Engines-BP3024CTC-Dressed-Crate-Engine-Ford-302,297641.html. It makes a little more power but nothing over the top. Hope it helps and good luck with your project, I'm sure you'll make life long memories with your son!
Hey Darrin what are you gonna do with the motor that's in there now,I want it for my 1975 pinto,I've been saving my dimes and nickles to hit me up im in California, I'll come and get it ding ding 👍 👍
