G’day Reg, thanks for sharing all of those fantastic images and footage of yours.I bought a pair of NL Pure 8x42 bino’s 2 months ago.I found that the 8’s suited my style of hunting better after previously owning 10 power Leica’s.My Swaro’s are unbelievably clear, have a great field of view and are excellent in early morning and failing afternoon light.I love the design and they fit in my hands just fine.Your review of the NL’s is more informative and more comprehensive than most of the reviews on UA-cam.My local deer are finding it difficult to hide in the vegetation now that I have my NL Pure binoculars.Cheers, Rob.
Thanks for your valuable comments👍I was sceptical at first how far Swarovski have come? It was mind blowing to see the difference and advancements in technology Swarovski have put into the NL Pure binoculars. Glad you love your 8×42s! Amazing F.O.V on all the NL Pures. I'm doing a review on the 12x42 using the adapter via my mobile phone. Incredible footage😳
I did quite a bit of research and compared them to several other brands before purchasing the Swarovski NL ‘s .To my eyes the definition, natural colours and low light qualities are amazing.I have been using/testing these bino’s every other day at different times of the day for 2 months.I’m very happy with my purchase.I believe that good quality binoculars are an imperative part of any hunters gear list.I can’t wait for the cooler months to get up the bush.
I love my Swarovski Z8i 2-16x50, its amazing on my .270. For the same reason another one will go on my .223! For the 7mm rem mag, I have a Z8i 3.5-28x50 comming next week. (40 years ago I used the old Kahles 8x50, one of the best for hunting foxes night time...) Two of the best brands in the world!
They are both quality optics. Perhaps the 10×42 only because of the hardship to locate the deer. Weight is paramount. But the 12×42 NLs aren't too heavy so it would be difficult not to go for the 12 power optics. I personally have a pair of Leica 10-15x56 Duovids that very heavy and don't have the clarity and luminosity of the Swarvoski NLs😪
How ya going reg my first binnocular was Swarovski 10x42 still got them high clarity very detail had them 15 years so I now have Leica 10x42 witch cost more and weigh more after reliasing swarski are just as good when comes to clarity I would of brought on other pair top class👌very durable U no just bye holding them and no shakes when glassing!! Thanks sharing
Nothing wrong with Leica binoculars👍 Swarovski are more hunter oriented and perhaps 3 or 4 steps ahead of the other Alpha binoculars. Definitely a big game change for hunters.
Hi Reg you will need to get yourself the marsupial bino harness for them they are fantastic and the medium size will fit the 10x42 with the forehead adaptor also look at getting the eye cup wings . Helps block out unwanted glare into the eye
Thanks mate for the great footage and photos alongside the review. I would like to try the NLs someday however I'm sure I'd be compelled to buy a set shortly afterwards. Upgrading from an entry level bino to SLCs was a game changer for me.
Yeah I've known for awhile how good Swarovski optics are! Over the years l was privileged to hunt with guys that had the EL's and the SLC binoculars. I don't take doing reviews lightly because you can get burnt🔥. If the product is inferior l won't do them period. But when l was asked to look at the NL Pure range of binocular l knew this was a quality product beforehand! I understand why hunter's are hesitant to purchase these quality optics. Being a avid photographer l totally understand having quality glass to get great images. These NL Pure binocular are a game changer when comes to photographing through your mobile phone. Stay tune to my next review using the NL Pure 12×42 binocular's through an adapter.😁👍📽
Thanks. Great vid. Question and help. I’ve been considering the NL’s for some time Now. My only hold back is that at closer ranges, say inside 50 feet, the image is very flat, 2 dimensional. Is this typical with binoculars?
Reg how do you find the durability of the NL rubber coating, does it stand up to the Oz heat, dust ? I have heard some users complain of peeing rubber and swelling of the rubber…
Hi Ed, l only had the Swarvoski NL-Pures on loan, giving an honest and objective view on the optics. I didn't have them long enough to analyse if there was any deterioration with the rubber coating. Personally, l haven't seen or witnessed the problem mentioned 🤔 sorry.
Gday Reg, massive fan of yours and your work on sambar deer and photography. But I think $4200.00 for a set of binos in today market is crazy. As you touched on your final credit on the review, about warranty and customer services. Most company’s now will replace the item with no questions asked with weather manufacturers fault or owners. What cutting edge technology? Just good glass? No range finder, no ballistics, so just binoculars? So who are they for? Obviously they are reaching out to there higher end customers ie world hunters, guides etc And like one of the fellas found out on one of our hunts from last week. No good having good binos if your scope dosnt match Cheers Marty
Hi Kita 1, l totally understand your position when it comes to cost! This is only a review and perhaps it isn't about general binoculars but the Alpha brands such as Leica, Zeiss and Swarovski. You would be surprised how many serious hunters want the best optics and the avid birders that want premium quality glass to identify and to see detail. After 40 years of hunting I wish I'd purchased a quality binocular myself. Hindsight is a wonder thing where l went through the lesser like binoculars such as Tasco, Gerbers, Bushnell, Simmons and Pentax to name a few. As they say, you only get what you pay for. My suggestion is to compare the Apha binoculars with the cheaper brands in Low light conditions. 😊👍
Marty, l went up to Leica binoculars 20 years ago and never looked back with my hunting and photography. Being a photographer, perhaps l understand quality glass better than most when you are trying to capture and compose the best photograph possible. The same principle applies. Quality camera and lens = the best. If you get an opportunity to look through these Swarovski Optik NL Pure binocular l would be very interested in your thoughts. It's Cheers only my review to help out those serious hunters!!!Cheers Reggie👍🦌
Amazing photography Sir. Thanks for sharing! I run the 8x42 SLC and can't fault them for my hunting needs.
Yes the NL Pure binoculars are exceptionally good. The 8x42 SLC binos are fantastic glass. We were running the 15x56s and are clear optics 👍👌

Classic Aussie style analysis.
