- Before we start talking about Gixxer 155 problems, let me explain you what makes the suzuki gixxer so special in this segment.
Gixxer 155 was launched by Suzuki to compete with the Yamaha FZ and it has been doing really well with its super reliable engine which is refined and super smooth as well. The bike is also priced competitively as it is slightly more expensive than the Yamaha FZ but what you get is a higher quality product a better performing engine which is suitable for the city or on the highway.
The bike begs you to ride hard and it keeps accelerating till you reach the top end.
Suzuki gixxer SF and Suzuki gixxer 155 is a cracker of a motorcycle, but every bike has its own set of pros and cons and today we discuss about the cons of Gixxer 155 or all the problems that you could end up facing being an owner, so there are many things which makes it special. The bike has been in the market for quite some time so, accessories is never a problem and touring accessories would also not be an issue for this bike.

Which 150 cc bike according to you has better headlights, smoother gear changes and seating comfort than Gixxer 155? I suppose the bike you tested was a BS6 FI unit ? If you have reviewed the Gixxer 250 naked version, please send the link. Thanks

I own a GIxxer 155 SF from 2019, nevr have I ever faced a false neutral situation, also never heard of this in other reviews. I love the clicks heard in gear shift. People call it not refined but compared to the slick shifting gearboxes, I would prefer this feel anytime. SF''s headlight is just best in class, have no idea about naked version. I am a heavy person, FZ does have a more comfortable seat, but there are no complaints in this seat. There are no quality issues in switch gear, I have observed that the paint quality could have been better, it is prone to getting scratched quite easily. ABS is not a problem of bike it depends on user. Yes pillon comfort is lacking, but bearable due to good grab rails. Why the comparison with FZ everytime? Gixxer is more rider oriented, for good dyanamics, ride and handling some sacrifices have to be made.The engine has a very good low and mid punch. This review is very misleading !!
Xcatly, I m a FZS V3 owner and I do agree with yu that some points in his video are misleading... FZS is a commuter-ish bike, that is why it has single piece seat and is a bit more comfortable than Gixxer... But rest other things like Power, Headlight throw and Cornering stability is better in Gixxer... Over all Gixxer is a good package... Lookwise I find Gixxer superior to FZS...
Agree. i owned a 2016 Gixxer, love the gear shift, i found it the best among bike i have ridden. ABS is there or not there, if rider doesn't brake properly, accident will happen. In my 2 years use, i never had an accident, but in 1 year i have given it to other, there are like 10s accident. It depends on rider. (i begin driving car, as i needed weather proof travel, rain, winter).

I have mt15 and hornet 2.0 at my house and I own Gixxer .
Headlight - best headlight in 160cc segment even better than fz25
Switch gear - tactile .
Gearbox - you gotta learn to use full clutch during gear shifts there's jerkiness for 1-2 month but after that it will feel like home .
Brakes - well front brake never locks but rear brakes locks
Instrument cluster - sunlight or night it's always visible
I am exactly facing the same issue with gearbox like you mentioned in your comment. Facing jerks and vehicle decreases its power while i am raising throttle. Kindly help me
Can you tell me the mileage and over all experience of your Hornet 2.0 ? Is engine heating an issue in that ?

@@sajusimon1121 it's time to get your bike serviced and properly lubricated. And most importantly change your gear shift light at 4400rpm mark .just for first gear .

. What you can do -
1-Service timely
2-Stick to Suzuki's engine oil . it's ecstar(popular name in MotoGP) .
3-Chain cleaning at every 1000 km or 45 days
4- change petrol pump- try premium petrol( never use additives ).
5- Use full clutch.
6 -check valve clearance in service center
7 rare but it's time to change clutch plates and pressure plates ,there could be a bend . Even a brand new bmw bike can suffer with this .

It depends on how u ride
It is a fundamental problem and persists beacuse the showroom people don't do work properly. Depends on rider, but it can be adressed.
I have a carburated 2017 naked Gixxer and have covered 26K and have carried out the following modifications to overcome the shortcomings as pointed out in this review:
*Changed the Gear Changing spring (inside the engine) resulting smooth gear change besides avoiding false neutrals.
* Shaved off 1.5 inches from the riders seat and replaced with softer foam .
* Replaced the handle bar with RE classic for upright sitting posture.
* Replaced the headlights with aftermarket LED resulting in better illumination.
*Replaced the front spoket with Pulsar at just Rs 100.
This is the best bike in its segment which is fun to ride and maneuver in city ,having excellent riding dynamics with 41 mm front forks, excellent braking,accleration akin to RX 100 .
* Still getting a mileage of 53-55 km/liter.
Havent had any problems till date.
I agree about the uncomfortable pillion seat.
I just wish an honest opinion whether it could be better to replace Gixxer with highness without missing its sporty feel.
Only problem i feel is its rear set foot pege which tires one after riding for 30 kms for which i wish to replace with Highness.
Sir great news for you and I am very happy I can help you again.. Guess what.. I had gixxer sf before I got hness.. And gixxer was one of the best motorcycles I have riden truly..I have ridden almost every bike sold for the Indian market.. And I can clearly tell you the Gixxer was an absolutely amazing bike for me..my switch to Hness has been amazing for two reasons.
1. Gixxer was very reliable = hness is reliable
2. Gixxer had no vibrations was v smooth = hness has no vibrations and is smooth
All the shortcomings of Gixxer like pillion comfort, ride comfort and rider comfort turning radius is covered by hness. So it will be a great purchase for you.. Hope I helped you 😊
Hness wont offer you the super sporty feel of Gixxer but has a different character as it has mature handling characteristics more comfort and is more practical
@@autocritic I had a Honda Unicorn before getting Gixxer and never like liked it because it lacked the sporty feel of RX 100 and Pulsar which i owned and hence my apprehensions about H'ness. As revealed by you probably i may miss the sporty character of Gixxer in H'ness. Frankly we need an Yamaha RD 350 type cult bike which is sadly missing and H'ness cannot replicate such thrills and its tall gearing doesn't help .

Its almost a year since I have been riding my gixxer I haven't got any problem bt jst a bit of gear getting stuck bt it has been fixed for free at the Suzuki work shop only
The rain water always get into the tank and the bike doesn't start at all
For the last 20+ yrs Hero/Hero Honda splendor/super splendor have had 2nd gear problem. It was never rectified. And the same gear box is still being sold..

Im totally agree with the gearbox problem me facing daily but the headlight is more than enough i can say as compared to other all bike and i love single channel abs bcz proper rider not needed an dual channel and i hate bluetooth bcz also it comes in apache whiche is totally unusable for the people most people dont use in daily life and pillion seat is best as compared to all other bike atleast this has a seat not a brick 😂 and if u are proper bike enthuasit intial and mid end is ❤ but not top end this is the reality im owning this bike from last 3 years.

Brother, I recently did a roadtrip from delhi to haridwar and found a bit of issue in handlebar position on long rides. I am 5'9 tall and no problem on a continuous ride of around 50-60 kms but I couldnot stretch it to 100-120km in one go, max I could do was 80km. During this trip I experienced some pain in lower back. If you can guide on some handlebar risers or change the handle bar to RD350?

I do not agree with your review about the headlight, it's the best in segment.
Gearbox is very hard, sometimes there is a problem that arises when you r in traffic and wanted to shit in 1st gear quickly it creates problems. I m facing this problem.handel bar is short so it's very painful for a continuous ride...but the overall bike is very good

Using Gixxer for last 5 years 2016 model gixxer sp naked.
I repaired half engine after 32000 km but the engine oil is getting leaked from the opening of valve.
changed valve oil seal multiple times but still same problem ongoing because of oil leakage bike is emitting smoke as tge engine oil gets stored in silencer pipe and once it gets heated only smoke help please

I used motul but it burns a bit more than others and also deu to oil leakage my experience with the oil is not good. This time I addressed the head assembly cover oil leakage by doing the refitting myself to ensure no oil leakage and used Castrol Power1 ultimate and also used 10W 50 oil instead of 10w 40. I am happy with the results. Also do pay attention to the chain, it should appropriately tight and lubricated, the wheel bearings also need to lubricated, also check the air filter. It would be good to do this yourself but getting expert help from good garages would be better. Suzuki service centres are very bad at doing their job on motorcycles.

lots off problem in my gixxer 155. Rough engine running, Hard gear box and engine seized after 18000 kms even after all servicing done time to time. Pathetic sevice centres and spare parts availability.

Gixxer's no. One problem is price. Its priced around 1.18 lakh ex showroom, FZ starts at 1.05 lakh, FZS 1.08 lakh, apache dual disc 1.12 lakh . Gixxer's was launched at 1 lakh and for bs6 model price was increased to 1.18 lakh.
But its worth it sir, in gixxer u get better engine performance , build quality, exhaust and speedometer than fz
