I am learning so much from your channel. I am really happy to see your family in my box. However, I am amazed at how long abbie sat there for. You talked a long time. Is she able to do any computer time in any way? Just so you know the channels that I like a lot I am always commenting on every day. So , I understand you are busy and can't answer. I have agoraphobia...so I am home a lot and I like to see channels that teach me or are cool. your channel is both.
I have the same issue with never leaving Graeson alone. I am a single parent unfortunately. Nobody will ever truly understand until they live it. Thank you for sharing your daily walk with us.
Silent Dreamer They already have videos like that. Maybe if you go to their channel and look through all there videos you'll be able to see for yourself.
Melissa Pastor Dude why do u have to be so rude for real???? It was a simple question and the question wasn't asked to u so it's wasn't urs to answer. Just saying. And no they actually don't have this kinda video just of Abbie. She's say 1 vid not to watch 20 vids.
1ProudMama Of3Boys Letting him/her know that they have more videos on their channel in which people could see her daily routines through her videos is being Rude? By no mean was I Trying to be rude or disrespectful. I simply informed him/she that they have more videos in which he/she could look at.
Your daughter is absolutely amazing I've been studying autism there for four months nonstop every day every night my goal is to foster autistic kids because I think you're absolutely amazing 💛💚💜❤️💙🤗you guys are the most amazing family I've seen
Have you had any luck with chewelry from places like stimtastic or ARK? Im just curious if something attached to her like an armband/bangle/bracelet (might also be helpful if she tends to bite her hands?) or necklace and at a smaller width might encourage her to keep it in her mouth, rather than dropping it into her lap so she can sample the presumably delicious sands and other fun non-edible things.
The concept of "absolutely never" is a concept people just don't believe; they think anyone who says "she'll hurt herself if I leave her alone" must be exaggerating or being over protective. It's so far removed from their own experience that they simply can't fathom it
There is a girl in my school who has autism and I help her out a lot I would love to meet your daughter one day the girl in my school that has autism got bullied a lot I helped her I'm so happy that you treat your daughter like a little star because she's amazing we should speak more thanks AJ
Daily culturelle cured Jocelyn's pica, she used to eat everything, even rocks! If we miss a day of culturelle she starts up again. You guys are so amazing with her, it's so hard. You are right people don't get it, Jocelyn had a meltdown at the aquarium so we had to run out, my sister couldn't understand why we needed to leave 🙄.
Least cooperative guest lol. 1. Love yalls channel. Its really changed my thinking. Im looking for do it yourself cheap ideas and prepping things to keep my Joe occupied when he gets home...much less mamma stress. 2. How did yall go about setting up respite? Do yall have a Now/Comp waiver or private ins that helps pay for it? Sorry if that is a personal question. I am a stayvat home mom. private ins and a KB waiver. 3. There is a program called, "Project LIfesaver" I am fairly certain its all over the country. The sheriffs office comes out, takes a photo and stats of your kiddo and puts a GPS on them. It kinda is the size of a watch. Joe wears his on his ankle. If he elopes...we can find him fast. I tell new neighbors that they will see the cops once a month because they change my house arrest anklet. 😂😂😂. Better yet...free service.
Very interesting Video. I have High Functioning Autism myself or sometimes it's called Asperger's syndrome. I didn't even know I had it. I was diagnosed as an Adult not as a child. I had bad experiences in the past dealing with different Teachers and Classmates as a kid growing up. It's better for me to know of how people with Autism of how they function and how they deal with their challenges.
I wonder if she ever just refuses the chewy because she wants to chew the off-limits object. Also, how much of the stuff they say about Abigail in her presence does she comprehend, and how does she feel about it.
She was so cute!! The way she looked at you... My son does the same thing with anything like that, so we don't use Play Dough and the like very often. It's hard to keep out of his mouth. I'd almost forgotten it was called Pica.
Having 2 boys on the spectrum I can totally relate to not being able to take my eyes of them! They are sneaky and fast 💨! I hope in a few more weeks the county will give my more affected son some much needed PCA hours. Does Abbie has a PCA? Or do you guys do only respite care?
We had something similar happen in one a school where I live. It was nothing to do with discipline though. It had to do with what they were using as reinforces. The school basically thought that they would use drinks such as water as a reinforcer to get the kids to do their work.
Oh my god, at the start of the video in the room, that white lamp, I have the exact same one in my room but it’s blue 😂 my step mum is a flight attendant and went to ikea or Walmart in Australia
Have you tried Weenect for tracking Abie? Not ideal but sth you can clip on her backpack if she is good at keeping it on. Could be a solution to family trips out in crowded places where it could be easy to lose sight of her
FatheringAutism I heard the story yo told about the boy with autism being abused by his teacher. I am not autistic but I do have disabilities and special needs and when I was a kid I had very similar things happen to me, I was manhandled by my teacher and forced to stay in the utility closet full time. I was not allowed to use the restroom and came home wet or soiled multiple times .because of this my mother took action but the teacher was a longtime employee of the school and school district so our complaints were ignored. I was also sexually abused by that teacher and her husband... I was in first grade and I was threatened not to tell so I didn't in till my disabilities and depression had gotten to be to much to handle for me so we started a case but it was ruled inconclusive because so much time had gone by. It should have never happened and I have payed for it my whole life but you guys will be glad to hear I'm 22 now and I am making strides to finish high school:)
I'm so sorry to hear about the abuse in your past - it should never have happened. I'm so happy to read that you're aiming towards finishing high school. That's fantastic! You're a strong person to battle abuse and depression as well as your disabilities - having determination like you do is a great characteristic! Keep on going with high school and then keep chasing your dreams!
This is random but, I was thinking that maybe if she had shorter hair in front of her eyes she may keep her head up more? I remember you saying she was working on keeping her head up, it looks sometimes like she has trouble seeing through her hair and looks down a lot. I don't mean to be rude I was just wondering! She is so adorable I love her!
This needs to go viral I had a hold at my school who's parents would tie them up at home because they couldn't get stuff done then until then when finished 😡
Question- You know how babies love to watch each other, and I had an uncle with Down's who would get so tickled if he saw someone on tv with Down's. Is there any connection between kids with autism? Perhaps ones that are closer together on the spectrum? With reading all the posts it seems to give more of an identity to some. 😊That's a really good thing. People want to know they are heard and want to be with people that are like minded.

Most times she just wanted to squish it and didnt go to eat it straight away. I'm high functioning on the spectrum so probably obsessed over it a little more than i should but i just wanted to grab it off you and give it to her for a squish x
Yes, you definitely obsessed over it more than you should lol. Priscilla found the tray on the table at IKEA and they have been great. Katie Mann He explains in the beginning of the video 1:10 min . Abby puts everything in her mouth and that's the reason why they get her P's & Q's so she could distract herself by biting that instead of putting the mad matter in her mouth.
Hello! I recommend Chewigem’s chewies! I have lots of video reviews on my channel! They have a US site which sells the same as the uk! I am their Youth Ambassador and they are super super helpful! Lots of thicknesses to try out
See it like that, if they want you to be there you must do a really good job as a parent of an attitude to stick child otherwise you wouldn’t be there. And why not taking sensory toys with you. My son has high functioning autism and there are certain behaviors he stopped doing and certain sensory things that he didn’t like when he was younger but now he doesn’t mind. Although he is still very young so that could be why. His speech therapist had recommended certain therapist for his sensory issues but without therapy they all seemed to go away.
FatheringAutism sorry if I was rude, my son is almost 7 and also on the spectrum and on school holidays right now, he doesn't let me spend much time on UA-cam

FatheringAutism what was the orange thing Abby was putting in her mouth and can u do more like swinging videos ?
She not saying a word but she is helping people understand which is awesome
Abigail did so good sitting there while you made this video. she obviously loves being with you very sweet girl.😊
I couldn't believe she sat there almost the whole time. She probably loves the Mad Mattr more but...
@@fatheringautism Naaa!! Daddy, she loves .... U!!! 🧁💕🧸💖
Abby did so well 👍🏻 its amazing how she looks at you with soo much love ...
Happy birthday to Abby! My daughter was born just same day. She is is also a spectrum of autism. Your channel brings a lot of hope. Thanks.
+Ville-Matti Vilkka So glad to hear. Happy birthday to your daughter!
Great video. I loved how happy she was in the beginning when she saw the mad matter !! 😍😍
Looking back at this, I'm so glad you're able to do UA-cam full-time now.
I have the same issue with never leaving Graeson alone. I am a single parent unfortunately. Nobody will ever truly understand until they live it. Thank you for sharing your daily walk with us.
Can you do a video called a day in the life of Abby? Like her full morning routine or how she plays with others or funny clips and sweet moments?

She is so cute! I'm a dad to a sweet little 3 year old autistic boy. Thank you for your educational videos! I'm still learning and these videos help.
Congratulations on getting on the panel. The irony is that you will be the most qualified.

I know the feeling, it's a labour of love... my daughter has definitely thought me that patience is a virtue.

I actually watch this channel just like any other vlog now. I love learning about autism because I hope to help one day (art therapy major) :)

She has several different types
She looks lovely with her new hair cut, I love it when she laughs you can just see the happiness on he face I love it 😍
+chloe jennings She is a happy kid.
That haircut really does look great!
I beyond love your channel your family is amazing keep doing what you do !!!👏🏻💕
I find people really really don't understand that you really can't just go to the washroom or disappear into the kitchen to make dinner.
The concept of "absolutely never" is a concept people just don't believe; they think anyone who says "she'll hurt herself if I leave her alone" must be exaggerating or being over protective. It's so far removed from their own experience that they simply can't fathom it
It makes me sick how teachers that are TRAINED to deal with these kids treat them like crap!
I know , teachers should never treat any child like this let alone an autistic one.

Our respite care is overnights for us. In home daily care is everyday. Which we haven’t had a break in 2 years. Can’t get people.
Did you guys ever try to give Abagail gum? She might like it since she likes chewing things but she might swallow it.
Otaku 58 think she would swallow it
i was wondering what ecatly is repiscare and how do you go about getting this?
If I may ask, what is with the over the head hand stim?
Just one of her stims they lovingly refer to it as the it’s bitsy spider
How do you tell if they are injured or in pain, when a child is non verbal?
+Emery Kaltenbrun The same way you do with a baby. You just know your kid I suppose.

Yes, you definitely obsessed over it more than you should lol. Priscilla found the tray on the table at IKEA and they have been great. It gives Abbie a visual border of where she is supposed to play with things like the Mad Mattr. It has made a huge difference in the frequency that she tries to put everything in her mouth. If you noticed she is leaning back with her feet up for much of the video. When she was sitting up she had much more access to it because she could keep it over the tray. See? I do admit though, as I got caught up in talking to the camera I ended up squishing it myself quite a bit, lol. Guilty.
Thanks for your reply. If i'm honest i want a squish of it myself, i hope it's available in the uk, lol x
There are some packs on uk amazon, I had a look after seeing the video as I'd like some too. It looks like thicker kinetic sand, I want to try it.
She was definitely wanting to eat it the whole time.
Lol Abigail is so funny with that stuff it obviously feels weird we allways tell matt ps and qs stand for peace and quiet he doesnt shout and be vocal while chewing
I love her faces when sensory playing. She has no inhibition, so her face shows exactly what I think mine would look like if I didn't have to be so self-conscious.
Sorry, not trying to be rude but was just wondering why you weren't letting her play with the mad matter? I could tell she was getting very anxious and wanted to play but you kept taking it away.
+Katie Mann I wasn’t looking at her during the video so it was hard to keep her from putting it in her mouth. She has Pica so everything goes in the mouth. I wish on that show my strange addiction a lot of them have pike but they won’t say that what it is
Abbie is so happy with her sensory toys :)
Awe
Mix marshmallows and powder sugar she can eat it and it's like dough

You should make diy edible kinetic sand or something that Abby will have fun to play with and that she can eat. By the way I love you guys so much ❤️
Yeah, that's understandable I get it now and that makes way more sense
See it like that, if they want you to be there you must do a really good job as a parent of an attitude to stick child otherwise you wouldn’t be there. And why not taking sensory toys with you. In Germany it is trendy at the moment to have a fidget cube or a fidget spinner but I don’t know if it’s only for young people or also for people like me in the 30s.😂 but I don’t mind what people say because I do take care that I don’t look too ridiculous but I don’t wanna look like a granny or I don’t know what that isn’t what I am. My body just older than my soul. So if you feel like sensory stuff could help you then take something with you that you like. ☺️😉 (in my head you take a chewy with you.😂 Sorry, just kiddin. But try to imagine either my picture or all these doctors with chewies in their mouth) - sorry, today my mood is a roller coaster and at the moment I’m happy and in the mood for giggling
Have you ever thought of a identification bracelet with contact info for Abby in case she does get lost?
