Edita Gruberová, Een avond met, 2007 | Holland Festival Parels

De slotavond van het 60e Holland Festival staat in teken van niemand minder dan de Slowaakse coloratuursopraan Edita Gruberová, in de internationale media ook wel bekend als "Queen of the Belcanto", "Prima Donna Assoluta" en "Königin der Koloraturen". Op dit unieke afscheidsconcert in Nederland brengt zij samen met het Nederlands Philharmonisch Orkest onder leiding van Ralf Weikert beroemde belcanto-aria's ten gehore. In dit fragment is een aria uit de opera "Beatrice di Tenda" van Vincenzo Bellini te horen.
The closing night of the 60th Holland Festival features none other than Slovak colouratura soprano Edita Gruberová, also known in the international media as "Queen of the Belcanto", "Prima Donna Assoluta" and "Königin der Koloraturen". At this unique farewell concert in the Netherlands, she will perform famous bel canto arias together with the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Ralf Weikert. This excerpt features an aria from Vincenzo Bellini's opera "Beatrice di Tenda".

Naar aanleiding van het 70-jarig jubileum (2017) en het 75-jarig jubileum van Holland Festival (2022) hebben het festival en de VPRO onder de naam ‘Holland Festival Parels’ een duurzaam online platform ingericht. Het publiek vindt hier korte televisiefragmenten uit en over producties, die het Holland Festival de afgelopen zeven en een half decennia in Nederland presenteerde. Deze televisiefragmenten van diverse publieke omroepen zoals de NTR en VPRO zijn vaak eenmalig op televisie te zien geweest. Ze zijn nu als hommage en als online archief beschikbaar gemaakt.
On the occasion of the 70th anniversary (2017) and the 75th anniversary of Holland Festival (2022), the festival and the VPRO have set up a sustainable online platform under the name 'Holland Festival Gems’. Here, the audience will find short television excerpts from and about productions presented by the Holland Festival in the Netherlands over the past seven and a half decades. These television fragments from various public broadcasters such as NTR and VPRO have often been shown once on television. They have now been made available as a tribute and as an online archive.

De eerste zin "O als een graf mij wordt gegund" is wel heel treffend: Edita Gruberova is precies een jaar geleden (18 okt 2021) overleden. Gisteren zou ze 76 jaar zijn geworden.

I only like about 40% of what I hear Edita sing. All the sliding around is very sloppy sounding to me (cloyingly so)
