Recipe:
Sugar syrup - 20 ml
Lemon juice - 30 ml
Bourbon whiskey - 50 ml
Egg white - 15 ml
Dry shake. Shake with ice. Strain in chilled rocks glass with ice cubes, garnish with lemon zest. Enjoy;)

Love whiskey sours with egg whites but don't like the smell you get before sipping it
prithvi bumia i always use fresh eggs not out of a squeeze bottle because the smell only comes after about 15 mins, another option would be a dash of angostura on top of the egg foam
A fresh egg freshly cracked has no smell. Better check how fresh are the egg whites you are being served in your drinks
The dry shake with lemon, removes de smell of the egg. It's a substitute for vanilla in cakes, for example.
I have been wondering for a while now, why is egg white used in drinks? And also wouldn't that be dangerous?
The egg white is added for texture, so that you get a creamy and foamy drink. It all started with the Pisco sour cocktail. I would not get concerned about the egg white. Alcohol is way more dangerous, also all that sugar it surely adds up to the calories you have every day. Just make sure the eggs you use are fresh and clean and you'll be just fine.

martin perez you dry shake only if you add egg whites, which has a different name and is a variation of a classic whiskey sour. You then shake over ice to help dilute and mix the citrus flavor. It’s added over ice because it’s a rocks drink.

I've had a million whiskey sours at many establishments from fancy joints to cruise ships to dive bars but I don't think I've seen a bartender put egg whites in it. Either I've been very mistaken for many years, it's rare in america, or this is a special recipe.
It's pretty common. Sour based drinks generally include egg white such as pisco or amaretto sour.
U have been very mistaken. Never seen a whisky sour without egg whites. Your bartenders are lazy af, or newbs
Maybe in America is more common to call it Boston sour when you add the egg. Quite a lot of people consider it gross to drink an egg white, so for commercial purposes bartenders will not add it by default. Some might add it if you ask for it.
