Great information thank you. Didn't apply all the battery saving ideas but the ones I did has helped the battery to last much longer.
I see ... Disable everything the watch is good for !!!
Exactly lol why not just switch it off while your not using it 🤣
Bought an expensive watch then turn off all the functions... 🧐
Great tips!
Thanks.
Thank you very much!
the backlight invoked by gestures will not stay on until timeout, instead it turns off by gestures also (when we turn away the hand)
Thanks for the informative video! Can you pls tell if i keep these features On, how much time will the batery last?
Thank you for your tutorials. They're are excellent. I just bought this watch and I love it. Your videos are a big help.
Bought one too. Only because I am tired of running with a phone for music.
Great battery saving tips! Thnx! I need, as a long distance runner, to get 7 hours out of the watch, 7 hours with gps in full second-second tracking mode and with bluetooth enabled so that I can listen to music. Garmin says that I'll get 6 hrs from the watch like that but if I turn the music off for an hour or so, will that get me to 7 hrs? Is it easy to turn the music off mid-run and to turn it back on again mid-run? Re the backlight, if I turn the backlight off, how visible will the watch face be? TIA!
Can you show how to set up intervals? I run Jeff Galloway method run/walk/run.
does it really turn off the bluetooth hardware or does it only kill the connection with your phone?
My watch doesn't appear to be tracking my sleep. Can you help me figure that out?
Thanks for the advise, but turning off some of this options will render the device as a common smart watch or probably worst. Garmin shall use their ingenuity to make better or looooooonnnggg lasting batteries. :-)))))
How can I get the power save to stop coming on while I’m running?
I have a circle next to my time. What does this mean?
Hi, if I change the data recording from every second to smart, does this affect my running activities or just general activity trackers?
No it does not
Does this watch have an always on display? Say if I wanted to check a pulse rate of a patient I need to be able to see the seconds without touching the watch.
Hello Jacob, yes it has an always on display. This watch would work perfectly for this usage. Just need to make sure you customize the watch face to display the seconds. It might use a little bit more battery life, but it sounds like it's worth it to you. For more information, i recommend checking out my video covering this subject ua-cam.com/video/fIT7CJ9EAsg/v-deo.html Thanks for watching and please consider liking and subscribing!
What about Display performance at night(dark) and daylight.
Because on Amazon i read that in dark environment unable to see display.
In my opinion the display is very easy to read at all times. If the backlight is on, you will be able to read the display at night.
Just got my 245, a lot better than my AW battery :), BUT... 7 days in smartwatch mode, does that mean if I disconnect my phone I can potentially extend the battery past 7 days if I don’t use gps at all?
Yes, if you turn off Bluetooth you will get more than seven. It really depends on your usage though, so it's worth a try. Thanks for watching and please consider liking and subscribing 🙏
helow. i am new to garmin and i just owned my own FR245. my questions is how to know if my GPS is ready for running? i already wait around 3 mins in running mode but nothing happened. Is there any notification or such? (because when i use polar m400, there is a notification when the gps signal is ready)
When you select your activity, a red bar will appear across the top of the watch, wait for it to turn green and then it has acquired GPS position. Then you can hit start and you’re on your way.
Great! If you buy a Garmin and want to save the battery you're doing something wrong
if disconnect all functions no need for garmin
I just got the watch and it will be at 100 percent when I take it but then I check 20 30 min later it’s down to 60 is this normal?
Why ?? Mine also ?! :( i dont know why
Last night i change 100% today I run about 55 minutes And Battery So Fast Drain now 54%why like that?
You could increase battery life even more if you flush it down the toilet... REALLY, turning off literally everything saves battery life? Who would have thought...
Thats not what the video is about. The video is on WHERE you can turn features off, and what is means to turn them off
@@wranzzon the video doesn't say how much battery life will be saved by switching all these things off. (Most of which are the things you actually bought the watch for, after all)
The OP makes a valid point.
I got mine but is giving me around 3 days of battery life, is that normal?
No, but it can be if you are doing several activities as they use a lot of battery life.
@@GaugingGadgets
I see
Where do you recommend to place the watch to get a good heart rate reading?
@@TheLateral18 bicep is best
@@TheLateral18 I always strap it around my penis, as I do with all my watches... Really, where would you place a watch else? I got no idea.
@@Wuchtamsel me too. I needed a bigger strap though 😅
New tip- remove the watch and just wear a rubber strap and the battery will last forever
My take-away.....turn off all the functions that make it useful :)
Forerunner 245 is always on diplay?
Yes
