Warm up the engine first to operating temp, that way you will have expanded the head on the engine, this way everything is expanded and there will be slightly less grab on all the glowplugs, they will come out easier, also use CRC or WD-40 to lube the threads when removing

Just done this today, no 4 back glowplug. Didn't need to remove the plenum panel in the end, just all the wiring harness plugs so I could pull it back and see the plug cap, just. A real pain to remove caps, helps to prise the cap top off the right angle cable gland so you can fully depress the retention levers in, while pulling up on the cap. I used a small hook under the cap gland. Just like this video, the plug was very tight, despite soaking in penetrant. First turn easy, then it locked hard. Retighten then go again, gaining a quarter turn each time until finally it came out. There was a 5mm piece of the old plug tip missing, snapped off, ceramic I think? Not a great thing to have on top of the piston, I hope it got blown out at some stage. Don't put off changing glowplugs, just one dead one will prevent Dpf regen, which will block without warning and take out the turbo as I learned to my cost.

The risk to brake plugs is minimum if the engine is warm at 90 grades

Please advise what pliers you used to remove glow plug connectors on leads? Struggling to remove mine.
