I always enjoy videos about repairing an S-type engine, since my X-type has got the same engine mounted transversely. I also had to go through the same procedure when checked and adjusted the valves clearance. Cheers!

Ohh nice that valve clearance adjust must have been interesting. Yeahh i also did the rad on this same car and boy was it interesting, i didn't have to disconnect the a/c line, which was a bonus for my client 😀
      Anyway cheerz!

@@Cargorage Valve clearance is very interesting, especially when one hasn't got any extra shims. I pressed on the valve tappet with a screw driver, while my assistant removed the shim from its place with an HDD magnet. I swapped the shims of different valves so that at least they were not over-tightened, some of them are a bit loose, but close to the manual gaps. To tell you the truth, for that moment my engine had a millage of over 300K km, I expected much worse condition of valve clearance.

Oh wow! Thats a very complex one and good job 👍.
I remember when i did a headgasket+valve clearance adjust on 2013 ford focus rs and boy i had to remove the camshaft and did the same thing you did, just switch it up the bucket shims from the other cylinders. And it works out good. 😄

Greetings from Russia, I have a jaguar xf 2012 3.0 gasoline, the VVT valve seal is leaking, is there a seal there, otherwise you didn’t change it on the video. If so, please provide the part number?

dude, new valve kit shown was for 2000-2003. You wasting time showing this lame video. All valve cover seal washers and bolts have to be replace since the rubber grommets collapsed and no able to seal. You end up not replacing gasket. lame job. Oil will leak like a faucet.

You're right i didn't change the spark plug seals (tube seals) because the parts (aftermarket) ordered is wrong and the bolt seals. Anyways i don't see any leak so far so that means i know what i'm doing and i did a great job 😁. So, meaning that just depends on your ability to work things out. If you know what i mean. Thanks for viewing! Good day.
