I never understood the hate for Dear Nostalgists, I thought it was a nice callback to the old times, when GD creation was undergoing a major shift, and I personally enjoyed it for having somewhat interesting uses of old block design. There's a few bugs and oversights here and there, but many levels have as much, if not more errors, so DN getting so much shit was honestly confusing for me, especially since the gameplay is actually fun and flows well once you figure it out. Most bugs are also easily avoidable by doing an extra jump. To some extent I feel like some of the complaining was because it was TriAxis who made it. Maybe I don't know something a lot of people do, but I never have really seen her do anything just straight up bad that would make her deserve the reputation she had as an active creator. Yes, I'm aware she did some pretty questionable things, but I could see that as mistakes and a lot of people forgot she was in a really terrible state at that time, so it's very likely that a lot of the questionable things she did was because of that. Whenever she quit, I felt immense disappointment in the community, and I felt like it was one of the worst cases of people just treating another creator like complete shit. Of course I'm not defending some of TriAxis' questionable behavior, and I get that people were young at that point, but unless some really awful truth was revealed that was not just petty transphobia or misunderstandings, I feel like she was one of the most unfairly treated people we had in the community.
about the pre-drop ball bug, it's not a refresh thing, it's that if you time the orb in a way it'll drop you in the blue pad section in a way that misses the speed portal. i dont think this was intentional.
the falling into the void thing is absolutely a good criticism. its so annoying when you die to a level and have to wait 10 seconds to fall into the void before you can restart, especially if you dont have mhv7 where u can instantly restart
The pre-ball drop thing happens on all framerates actually. It's a weird timing thing that depends on both the timing of the orb and the timing of when you land on the slope before the orb. Also RiverCiver's Everything Wrong with Dear Nostalgists video is a massive joke because River's fans kept begging him to make a thoughts on for Dear Nostalgists. It does say don't take anything in the video seriously. His thoughts on video which he made a little before was his serious thoughts on the level.

I think I see what River was going for with the swag route sins. It seems like he views them as mistakes because they're things the player can do that TriAxis didn't account for, which is usually a sign of a level not being playtested properly. For example, in the skip where you can go above the slow speed portal, it would have been "better" to either kill the player immediately (making it into an active component of the level that must be avoided) or add more invisible speed portals to get the part to always work so that it's valid player behavior. Another example, the part where you can fall up and land in the outside of the level and die, it's both an alleged failure to account for that action, but also "exposes" the internals of the level, like in some levels when you enter a ship part and can see above the groundspikes because the area outside of the ship boundary wasn't filled in. So, the patched skip (the "Nice Try") warrants removing a sin because it shows TriAxis actually noticing some unintended behavior and fixing it. Not sure if I agree with him on that, though.
This video was not really needed, I mean, River's video is obvious satire. As you said, he doesnt elaborate on things he says. For example the boring robot thing, if he was serious he would probably elaborate. None the less, I am personally not a big fan of dear nostalgists but it still is a decent level Thas all
