    I’m a new private pilot and am thinking of going all way to ATP as a second career. Thank you for sharing this excellent and simple example of cockpit flow for landing.

    I have so much love for these little rocket ships. They handle like sports cars and you can leave the runway at like 15 degrees, it’s awesome

    Stupid question- are the Screens supposed to be flashing like that?

    • @megazloth1376
      @megazloth1376 2 роки тому +3

      Shutter speed of the camera makes them look like that, more than likely. Pretty sure they're not actually flashing at all.

    • @SgfGustafsson
      @SgfGustafsson Рік тому

      They are CRT screens, each line of pixels is “painted” side to side and top down at a high rate of speed. The human eye, or brain I guess, doesn’t detect this. The camera has a similar refresh rate so it captures snapshots of only random parts of the screen being recently drawn at a time. Same thing happens when filming leds

    The CRJ gpws sounds like a boeing gpws

    • @SgfGustafsson
      @SgfGustafsson 4 місяці тому

      That’s because Boeing and Bombardier don’t make GPWS systems, they buy them from companies like Collins, Honeywell, and Thales.

    • @SidestickPilot
      @SidestickPilot 3 роки тому +5

      On the CRJ the GLD (ground lift dump aka ground spoilers) deploy when the reversers are armed and the GLD is in the normal position. The handle doesn’t move like in the Boeing products. Only time you’ll move it is when you’re manually deploying them.

      @@SidestickPilot Thanks 73Driver. I was quietly asking myself the same question about the lift dump/speed brakes and arming/deployment.

    • @Ryan-zc1tz
      @Ryan-zc1tz 2 роки тому

      It's just the refresh rate of the camera. The screens arent actually flickering.

    • @cebrady
      @cebrady 3 роки тому +1

      They're used as needed, often if you need to get speed down during descent. Are you thinking of spoilers? Those auto-deploy on most airliners upon touchdown and retract on their own.
